Well it's contract decision time and just as I feared John Wall wants to wait for free agency. I hope he will stay with us and I can sign him in the off season. I renounce the rights to Dennis Bennett (SG) but keep the rights to Jerome Randle (PG).
Summer League is here and I decide to send (SF) Tobias Harris, (SF) Frank Hartfield, (PF) Jack Burks and (PF) Albert Reis to see how they do.
First game has the Rockets visiting Las Vegas. Frank Hartfield gets the start at SG and scores 23 points. Burks, our 1st rounder has 9 point and 7 rebounds. Reis has 10 points and 5 boards while Harris has 9 points and 5 rebounds. Elan Winter, the number 2 pick overall for Houston has 17 points and 8 rebounds. The Rockets fall to the Aces 108 - 86.
Our second game has us on the road in LA to face the Lakers. Hartfield once again plays SG and scores 13. Burks has 10 points and 6 rebounds. Reis has 8 off the bench and Harris adds 10 points and 4 blocks. Greg Monroe leads the way for the Lakers with 21 points and 12 boards but it is not enough as the Lakers fall in La La Land, 107 - 98.
Back home for our third game and we host the Kings. Burks has a poor showing with 4 points and 4 rebounds. Harris also plays poorly with 6 points and 7 rebounds and Hartfield does not fair much better only scoring 7 points and 2 rebounds. Reis shows why I drafted him in the 2nd round putting up 22 points, going 9 for 14 from the floor. Tristian Thompson paces the Kings with 22 points and 9 rebounds. The Kings get crowned by the Aces though, falling 96-86.
We jump on the jet and head to Miami for our fourth summer league matchup. Only player worth mentioning here is Reist again, going 7 of 9 from the floor and putting up 16 points. Nolan Smith has a good game for the Heat with 20 points and 6 assists. Once again the Aces manage to win on the road, beating the Heat 90-80.
Back home we take on the Cavaliers. Guess who has 17 off the bench for the Aces? If you said Albert Reis, you are the winner! Harris plays "ok" with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Gale Thompson has 17 for the Cavs and Alec Burks drops 22. Once again though, the Aces come out on top 112-90.
5-0 in summer league doesn't equate to much. I have to admit, I am a little disappointed that my rookies as well as Harris did not wow me. Reis looked good but it was summer league.
Free agency is here. My goal is to get a good PF as I do not trust the season with Burks as my starter and Reis as my backup. Here we go!

Training camp comes and we get ready for opening day. We send Frank Hartfield down to the D-League for some development.
