Teoh seems like he's going to be a great glue guy once he develops.

PG: Travis Tennell, Jon Cook
SG: David McDermott, Cliff Foster(Good shooter, we want to take a look at)
SF: Shand-de Teoh, Da'Sean Butler(Religated to the D-League looking for a contract)
PF: Jon Brockman(We like his rebounding), Jeff Adrien(Same)

This team should do well in the summer league.

I really hope so, I am a big fan of having a guy that can guard great players like Kobe and LeBron, this is exactly what he can do. I hope he can score around 14-15 points fairly efficiently and grab over 5 boards as he gets more minutes.

The Summer League

Postby brutusbrutus » Wed Jun 08, 2011 7:39 pm

Game 1: W, vs Memphis: This was a close game, Justin Henderson won at the last minute with an offensive tip in off a miss by McDermott. McDermott did score 21 off of 10-16 shooting in his debut.

Game 2: W, vs. the Lakers: The wolves scored 121, McDermott continues to impress by scoring 31 in 27 minutes.

Game 3: W, vs. the Magic: Again McDermott was the star scoring 26 in the victory, this kid is going to be great!

Game 4: W, vs the Pistons: Pekovic stole the show with 17 points and 12 rebounds in 27 minutes, McDermott had his first bad shooting night.

Game 5: W, vs Boston: McDermott bounced back scoring 28 off 15 shots, the entire NBA is now predicting McDermott is going to be a star in the league.

Summer League Record 5-0

Aside from the first game it was never really close. The entire team performed well especially the big men and McDermott who won the summer league MVP. McDermott is already a big fan favorite.

Free Agent Goals

Postby brutusbrutus » Wed Jun 08, 2011 7:45 pm

We have 10 players on the roster currently, I expect to pick up 3-5 free agents. I have 23 million to spend, but I want to keep around 10-14 million free.

Number 1 goal

Starting PF: I am looking for a player that is skilled but has fallen under the radar, that is looking for a chance to start in the NBA. If I cannot find him in free agency then I will trade Justin Henderson.

Backup C: Justin Henderson might not be with the team for very much longer, so I need a competent backup that will play big minutes when Pekovic is in foul trouble.

More depth at PF/SF: I'd like to pick up a versatile big man or wing that can play a few minutes competently.

Players I am persuing

Postby brutusbrutus » Wed Jun 08, 2011 7:50 pm

Omir Asik: Asik would be a great backup Center and since I am not finding many suitable Power Forwards it looks like I am going to have to shop Henderson. Asik has never gotten more than 14 mpg in his career but he has shown that he is a very capable big man. I am going to try to sign him to a multiple year deal on the cheap.

Josh Howard: In danger of not getting an NBA job I might be able to sign Howard near the end of free agency to a short deal. Howard has a good mid-ranged jump shot and can competently defend.

Omir Asik Signed to a 5-year deal

Postby brutusbrutus » Wed Jun 08, 2011 7:54 pm

After weeks of negotiations we finally agreed to pay Omir Asik 25 million dollars over 5 years. This contract was a little more expensive than I wanted, but Asik is a legit 7'0" and will be one of the better backup centers in the league if all goes right.

In other news Eric Gordon has signed on with the Knicks.

Timberwolves sign Josh Howard

Postby brutusbrutus » Wed Jun 08, 2011 7:56 pm

Josh Howard signs a 5.9 million dollar one year contract with the Wolves. This is the best short term deal Howard could get. Rumor has it that Howard absolutely did not want to sign with the Wolves, but it was his only offer.

The Nuggets sign Anthony, Cleveland Re-signs Love

Postby brutusbrutus » Wed Jun 08, 2011 7:59 pm

Love is remaining with Cleveland, despite the lack of success the franchise has had with Love as its dominant scorer. Anthony has re-signed with the Nuggets.
