It's going to be a huge undertaking but I'm exciting to see if I can do it!

We have seven players out of contract and I renounce all of them except for MAXIME Videnov. Sure Matt Davis is a good player but he is already 27 years old and he isn’t getting any better. Some team will overpay him but it won’t be us now we have Steph Curry.

For the first time ever we don’t have any significant players going to the summer league, so all I’m going to say is that we went 3-2 on the back of free agent David Babcock who averaged 21.0 points a game. He may get a look later in the free agency period but he will never be anything more than a lower bench player.

This free agency is all about one person – Matt Bailey. I’m almost certain he will go back to LA but if anyone can steal him the whole league will have shifted. Here is the top 10 FAs –

C Matt Bailey
PG Russell Westbrook
SG Tyreke Evans
PG Kenny Costa
PF Josh Smith
PG Rajon Rondo
PF Joey Kouser
PF Scott Channing
SG Trent Bailey
C Roy Hibbert

It’s not the best crop and we won’t be going for any of those players as we desperately need at starting SF and the guy I’m targeting is Danilo Gallinari. Sure it’s a long shot as he is worth more than the MLE but he loves competitive teams and we would be championship material with him. 6’6 SG Dennis Stone is also a target as he has the size to play at the 3.

After a week of back and forth Matt Bailey does indeed re-sign with the Lakers for a $104 million contract. Nothing less than a max contract would be grossly underpaying him so it’s good to see the Lakers doing the right thing by him.

The man with the capital name MAXIME re-signs with us for a 5 year deal worth $37.7 million. Sure it’s a lot of money for someone backing up Dwight Howard but if he becomes what his potential has shown us it will be underpaying.

On tender offer signing day Scott Channing jumps ship to New Jersey for a $10 million a year contract while Kenny Costa gets paid a similar amount to stay with Sacramento. There are too many tender signings to go through, so I will just say that it was nearly all of the big named young guys which make my target list smaller by a considerable margin.

Damn, my back-up signing couldn’t wait for us. Dennis Stone went back to Indiana for a cool $10 million a year which is much more than we could offer.

Double damn. I really hope Gallinari signs with us because I have no other options as Joey Kouser, Trent Bailey, Andre Iguodala, Jim Seymour and Emmett Cooper all re-upped with their respective teams leaving me with the Italian or nothing. Nevada pulls another boner as they sign cancer Tengiz Davidov to a 5 year deal which they will be regretting one month into the season.

Ex-Cavs player Matt Davis gets a 5 year, $29.5 million contract from Memphis to play behind OJ Mayo while Russell Westbrook and Tyreke Evans re-sign with their teams as Evans is so excited to be playing with the current Detroit team he even took a pay cut. Good for him.

Woo! Not only did Danilo Gallinari sign with us for the MLE, Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Gerald Wallace, Danny Granger and Tibor Pleiss signed with us giving us 14 contracted players. It looks like the Raptor dynasty is over as Tim Mozgov signed a 3 year deal with Dallas and Rajon Rondo is showing signs that he will not sign with Toronto. I would sign him for old time sake but we have a very crowded PG stocks with Sam Baron, Steph Curry and LaVell Deeter. Too bad for us but that is the way this business goes.

What the hell, I sign Rajon to a one year deal. If problems arise I can always trade him for a first round pick.

After the free agency period I bite the bullet and trade LaVell Deeter for a future second round pick which will give Rajon Rondo the run of the second unit instead of worrying about Deeter taking his minutes.

Training camp comes and goes and Sam Baron is on the edge of superstardom. I’m really psyched about the Curry/Baron backcourt with the Holtz/Howard frontcourt who can shut down opposing teams.

Here are the Eastern Conference pre-season rankings –

1 – Cleveland Cavaliers
2 – Detroit Pistons
3 – Philadelphia 76ers
4 – Boston Celtics
5 – Toronto Raptors
6 – Orlando Magic
7 – New Jersey Nets
8 – Memphis Grizzlies
Last – New Orleans Hornets

It looks pretty good but Boston may be a little too high while the Raptors will be struggling to make the eight.

Here are the Western Conference pre-season rankings –

1 – Dallas Mavericks
2 – Los Angeles Lakers
3 – Sacramento Kings
4 – Minnesota Timberwolves
5 – Oklahoma City Thunder
6 – Denver Nuggets
7 – Golden State Warriors
8 – Milwaukee Bucks
Last – Utah Jazz

What a surprise that the Jazz are last after their awful last couple of years and to make matters worse they signed Isiah Thomas to coach which is a death blow. With the addition of Tim Mozgov the Mavericks have a legitimate chance of taking it all.

Another team that has a great chance to win it all is your 2019-2020 Cleveland Cavaliers –

PG – Stephen Curry
SG – Sam Baron
SF – Danilo Gallinari
PF – Darrell Holtz
C – Dwight Howard
6th – Rajon Rondo
7th – Tibor Pleiss
8th – Josh Smith
9th – Gerald Wallace
10th – Danny Granger
11th – Ed Lilly
12th – MAXIME Videnov

We open the season with a 114-99 domination of Washington behind Sam Baron’s 31 points and Steph Curry’s 11 points and 16 assists. John Wall was held to 7/21 from the field as Dontonio Seymour top scored for the Wizards with 19 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 1-0

Sam Baron has come out of the gates strong this season as he scores 35 points and grabs 7 rebounds in our 112-83 blasting of Phoenix. Darrell Holtz and Nikolos Bocharkov duke it out as Holtz had 12 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks while Bocharkov topped him with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 8 blocks.

Cleveland Cavaliers 2-0

New Jersey are no longer undefeated as we humiliate them 117-73 behind Sam Baron’s 42 points. Tibor Pleiss was great off the bench with 15 points in only 22 minutes as we keep the Nets to a paltry 34% from the field.

Cleveland Cavaliers 3-0

This is our quarter by quarter spread in our game against Indiana –

1st – 40-17
2nd – 29-20
3rd – 31-7
4th – 32-24

That’s right, we won 132-68 and our highest lead was a whopping 69 points. Sam Baron was our best again with 29 points while Steph Curry put up 25 points and 10 assists and Rajon Rondo backed them up with 17 points in 19 minutes. We shot 59% to their 32% with Dennis Stone and Hasheem Walker the only two Pacer players in double figures with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0

We beat another undefeated team, this time the 6-0 (now 6-1) Nuggets 117-98. Three Cavaliers were over 20 points with Dwight Howard (22 points, 13 rebounds), Steph Curry (22 points, 9 rebounds, 8 turnovers) and Sam Baron (23 points, 11 assists with Josh Smith helping from the bench with 13 points in 13 minutes. Lawrence McSwain was great for the Nuggets with 24 points on 9/11 shooting but we were too strong.

Cleveland Cavaliers 5-0

Tibor Pleiss breaks his foot in our 115-88 away win over Honolulu. Sam Baron and Steph Curry combine for 51 points and 17 assists to lead the way while Sapir Ruffin went 5/20 for 19 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 6-0

Our first big test of the season up against Matt Bailey and the Lakers. Bailey gets his with 28 points and 15 rebounds but not much from the rest of the squad as we win 106-97 to show the league that we are legit. Sam Baron was great again but we had six players in double figures to steady the ship.

Cleveland Cavaliers 7-0

Unfortunately Steph Curry, Gerald Wallace and Josh Smith all pick up injuries and will be less than 100% for at most a week.

The streak continues in our 101-90 pasting of Philadelphia behind our bigs this time with Darrell Holtz, Danilo Gallinari and Dwight Howard combining for 52 points, 26 rebounds and 12 blocks to dominate the 76ers front line. Chris Paul was neutralized with only 16 points and 9 assists before fouling out.

Cleveland Cavaliers 8-0

Another big win, this time over Milwaukee 105-75 as Danilo Gallinari shot wonderfully for 31 points while Dwight Howard ripped down 26 rebounds. The Bucks didn’t have any stand outs as their top scorer was Brandon Jennings with 14 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 9-0

Indiana are atrocious this season as their best player, Gelnn Harris, has broken his leg. It showed as we wallop them 117-82 behind Sam Baron’s 26 points and 10 assists with all of our starters having 13 points or more apart from Danilo Gallinari who went 1/11 for 2 points. Danny Gilmore was the best for the Pacers with 23 points but their front court is very bad.

Cleveland Cavaliers 10-0

That is eleven wins in a row with our 112-90 beat down of Seattle. Dwight Howard was player of the game with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks while his front court friend in Darrell Holtz helped him out with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Hassan Trivuncic had a blinder off the bench with 26 points as he was the lone hand for the Sonics. Although Roy Michaels only had 7 points tonight he has been quite good this season without having to be surrounded by power forwards everywhere.

Cleveland Cavaliers 11-0

The next night we fly across the country to beat the Wizards in Washington 111-88. Dwight Howard was again a star with 25 points and 14 rebounds while Danny Granger had the start at SF because of Danilo Gallinari’s injury and had 10 points and 6 assists. John Wall was better than last time we played them with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists but they were simply outclassed.

Cleveland Cavaliers 12-0

Memphis has been struggling and we pile on the misery to the tune of 109-98. Sam Baron is back to his best with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists but don’t forget about Steph Curry who matched him with 22 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. All five Grizzly starters had more than 11 points but turned the ball over too many times. Claudio Carrera was their best with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Cleveland Cavaliers 13-0

I’m almost breathing that we might go undefeated in a month with our 113-91 win over New York as we have six players in double figures with Rajon Rondo putting up a fantastic bench performance with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in only 31 minutes. The Knicks shot 37% from the field as their starters combined for only 53 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 14-0

Dwight Howard tore apart the Nevada big men with 22 points and 17 rebounds in our 113-85 win as the Neon did not lead at any stage of the match. Steph Curry chipped in with 24 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds while Danny Granger had 12 points off the bench. Jeff Brown (yes the ex-Detroit player) played a lone hand with 29 points on 7/11 three point shooting but was not helped at all.

Cleveland Cavaliers 15-0

Brown is showing his potential this season by averaging over 17 points a game so far.

Whenever a team shoots 60% from the field they usually win, and that is what happened as we blast Philadelphia out of the water with the score being 135-92. Sam Baron has his way to 32 points while Rajon Rondo filled in for the foul troubled Steph Curry with 13 points and 18 assists off the bench. Wesley Johnson had 19 points but Luol Deng is back at Centre because of Kenny Leith’s injury and was killed by Dwight Howard who had 26 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 16-0

It’s a perfect month as we down Orlando 111-95 behind Steph Curry’s 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 steals while Darrell Holtz had 25 points to have the best of Blake Griffin. Marlon ‘Buzzsaw’ Zinn was electrifying with 27 points and 12 assists while the Magic big men combined for 40 points and 13 rebounds.

Cleveland Cavaliers 17-0

It’s a magical feeling going perfect for a month and obviously we are on top of the East with Orlando behind us by five games and New Jersey close third. Detroit are so far underwhelming at 8-7 while Toronto are out of the eight at 8-8. Indiana are last in the conference with a 2-14 record.

In the West Oklahoma City are off the a hot start at 15-2 with Milwaukee, Denver and Los Angeles breathing down their neck. One team that is not in breathing distance is Utah who are last at 3-12.

November Awards –

Player of the Month: Sam Dye, Denver Nuggets – 23.3 points, 8.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 0.2 blocks per game.

Rookie of the Month: Bill Stetson, Seattle Supersonics – 15.1 points, 2.7 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.

November Trades –

Milwaukee trade:
2020 1st round pick

New Jersey trade:
PG Ron Nelson

Why for Milwaukee:
The Bucks are sitting at 14-4 and are pushing for a high seed so the pick isn’t going to make them lose sleep. What will keep them up at night is Brandon Jennings’ bad back so getting some insurance in Nelson is a great idea.

Why for New Jersey:
Nelson is another spoilt brat that needed to be removed for the Nets to move forward. I think they could have got something better than a pick at the bottom of the first round.

Winner – Milwaukee
They roll the dice for something that wouldn’t have helped them.

Seattle trade:
2020 1st round pick

Utah trade:
PF Matt Landram

Why for Seattle:
Landram and Roy Michaels are reunited, but we don’t know if that is a good thing as they are both PFs. If things work out then Landram will be a better pick-up than the pick.

Why for Utah:
The purge of Jazz PFs continues as they only have Oti Brown left. Landram was another player who was played out of position so moving him for a potential lottery pick is as good as they could have got for him.

Winner – Unknown
Landram is too much of a ‘what if’ while it is too early in the season to see if the pick will be high or not.

Houston trade:
Julius Meeking

Honolulu trade:
C Jarvis Collier

Why for Houston:
Meeking has been fairly good in his second season by Collier has building block potential. Too bad he is crazy.

Why for Honolulu:
Unlike other new talented big men Collier isn’t spoilt but genuinely crazy. Rumours is that he has started his own cult on the Big Island which was just too much for the Sharks. Meeking is a good pick up for a player they didn’t want anymore.

Winner – Honolulu
Just like Justin Cabrera and Travis Randolph, if a team trades Collier they win the trade.

Sacramento trade:
C Jason Thompson

Los Angeles trade:
C Al Horford

Why for Sacramento:
For some reason Horford gets shopped around a lot, even though there isn’t any talk of a rift in any of the teams he has been in. The Kings don’t care as they pair him with DeMarcus Cousins to build one hell of a front court.

Why for Los Angeles:
Matt Bailey is injured again (broken hand) so they need a player that doesn’t mind coming off the bench but can fill in as a starter when needed. Thompson is that guy and even though he isn’t as talented as Horford he should take to the bench role better than Big Al.

In both points per game and opponent points per game we are leading, scoring an average of 113.8 while keeping our opposition to only 87.7 points a game. Very good signs for the future.

We start the month with a 108-87 whipping of Minnesota behind Sam Baron with 30 points and Dwight Howard who chipped in with 26 points and 14 rebounds. Kevin Love was the best for the Wolves with 19 points and 9 rebounds as he is finally living up to his enormous contract by averaging 20 points and 9 rebounds a game this season so far.

Cleveland Cavaliers 18-0

A closer game the next night as we sneak past the Hornets 92-83 with Sam Baron scoring 24 points and Gerald Wallace sparked off the bench with 9 points in 8 minutes. Sebastian Ortega is filling it up for New Orleans this season with 20 points and is filled to the brim with potential for the future.

Cleveland Cavaliers 19-0

It’s twenty wins to start the season as Sam Baron took the game on his shoulders with 43 points in our 119-85 win over Honolulu. 6’10 Julius Meeking started at SF and promptly fouled out in 23 minutes with the best Shark player was Isaac Anderson with 16 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.

Cleveland Cavaliers 20-0

It’s a team effort the next night as we take out the Celtics 114-87 as all our starters scored more than 12 points with Dwight Howard leading the way with 31 points and 11 rebounds while Danilo Gallinari and Darrell Holtz putting in 17 points each. Tony Rein top scored for Boston with 21 points but Alan Green has been a disappointment, going 5/17 for 12 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 21-0

Going into Denver was always going to be hard, even for a 21-0 team so it wasn’t that big of a surprise that we drop our first game 97-80 as Jarrett Omara led the way with 13 points, 16 rebounnds, 6 blocks and 3 steals. Andrew Bogut was also great with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks as they kept us to 39% from the field. Steph Curry stepped into Sam Baron’s scoring shoes with 26 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 21-1

We bounce back by trouncing Memphis 110-98 as Steph Curry has been moved to SG and produced 27 points with Darrell Holtz helping out with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. Marc Gasol had Dwight Howard’s measure all night with 18 points and 12 rebounds while fouling out Howard in only 21 minutes.

Cleveland Cavaliers 22-1

It was Darrell Holtz who took home player of the game honours in our 103-82 win over Portland with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks with Rajon Rondo pitching in with 19 points off the bench. Brandon Roy was the lone hand with 23 points for the Blazers as they weren’t in the game at any stage.

Cleveland Cavaliers 23-1

Three wins in three nights as we stomp on the Thunder 106-90 with Steph Curry (26 points) and Danilo Gallinari (26 points) doing most of the damage while Kevin Durant was the only OKC player to get away with 32 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 24-1

In the first meeting of Detroit and Cleveland it wasn’t a contest, we won easily 120-93 as Kevin King had 38 points in the loss. Danilo Gallinari tried to match him with 28 points and 8 rebounds while MAXIME Videnov got off the bench with 10 points and 5 rebounds in 15 minutes.

Cleveland Cavaliers 25-1

This team is just too good if this game is any indication. The bad thing is that I don’t feel anything like I did with Toronto and Detroit which is disheartening.

The largest lead of our 118-76 win over New Jersey is 44 points as Dwight Howard takes out Brook Lopez for 31 points and 12 rebounds while Darrell Holtz blocks eight shots.

Cleveland Cavaliers 26-1

For the next few games I’m just going to show the score to save time –

Miami 80 def by Cleveland 106
Toronto 105 def by Cleveland 127
Sacramento 102 def by Cleveland 112
Cleveland 102 def Golden State 80
Golden State 74 def by Cleveland 109
Cleveland 95 def by Portland 113

What’s that? We lost? Right, Steph Curry hurt his back so Danny Granger shot 4/14 in his starting spot. We are still 31-2 but we lost the next game as well, this time to Detroit 121-110 to make us drop to 31-3 to end the month.

I will do stats at the end of next month because so far this season hasn’t woken me up yet.

December Awards –

Player of the Month: Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder – 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

Rookie of the Month: John Williams, Chicago Bulls – 15.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.6 steals, 0.3 blocks per game.

There was only one trade last month and it was pretty pointless.

Utah trade:
2020 1st round pick

San Diego trade:
PF Rashun Jolly

Why for Utah:
This is such a dumb question when dealing with the Jazz because there is no why, just stupid general managers. The Jazz are currently at 9-22 and fourth last in the league and Jolly is slotted in at 7th man. ‘Nuff said.

Why for San Diego:
Jolly was only getting 18 minutes a game and he won’t be missed, especially now that they have a very good chance at getting the #1 draft pick.

Winner - San Diego
The Jazz should be dissolved or given over to a whole other city. They are terrible and the fans of Utah shouldn’t stand for it.

The first game of January is a winning one, as we dump the Neon 93-72 as Sam Baron and Steph Curry go 7/17 for 15 points as our big men pick up the slack. Dwight Howard nabs 20 points and 17 rebounds while Darrell Holtz helps out with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jeff Brown didn’t shoot well but had 18 points as Nevada went 35% from the field.

Cleveland Cavaliers 32-3

Travelling to Dallas is a hard task but we take the game easily 123-107. Sam Baron was back to his best with 31 points and 8 assists while Darrell Holtz is finding his groove with 26 points. Lebron James was dynamic with 35 points and my old friend Tim Mozgov taking care of Dwight Howard with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Cleveland Cavaliers 33-3

The Riders didn’t have a chance as they go down to us 99-82 with Danilo Gallinari taking the points with 23 points. San Diego’s best was Vlasi Kazapov who only had 12 points but forced Sam Baron into 9 turnovers.

Cleveland Cavaliers 34-3

Sam Baron led the way in a 123-101 track meet over Seattle with 33 points and 8 assists as his backcourt mate Steph Curry had 24 points and 7 assists. It was a real team effort as we shot 58% from the field with Andre McQuay having 21 points for the losers.

Cleveland Cavaliers 35-3

Gerald Wallace blasts Coach Garnett over playing time after our 107-100 loss to New Jersey with new recruit Scott Channing having 21 points while Da’Sean Bulter matching him off the bench. Sam Baron was our best again with 23 points and 13 assists but fouled out when we needed him the most.

Cleveland Cavaliers 35-4

We take out our frustration on Boston, winning 119-105 as Dwight Howard went to town on Andrea Bargnani with 36 points and 12 rebounds. Chris Bosh was great with 22 points and 13 rebounds while living on the foul line.

Cleveland Cavaliers 36-4

A chance to see #1 pick John Williams as we won 106-89 in Chicago. Williams had 16 points and 6 assists but was beaten by Steph Curry’s 22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Ex-Cav LaVell Deeter started at SG and scored 16 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 37-4

It was the battle of the PGs in our 122-118 overtime loss to Philadelphia as Chris Paul had 13 points and 22 assists with Luol Deng (31 points) and Wesley Johnson (31 points) backing him up and on our side Steph Curry had 22 points and 11 assists with three other Cavaliers over 20 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 37-5

Wow, I did not expect the scoreline of 123-74 in our favour against Toronto. Our biggest lead was 53 points as we shot 59% to their 32%. Dwight Howard had a triple double in 12 points, 17 rebounds and 10 blocks while our backcourt combined for 47 points, 10 rebounds and 17 assists. Travis Randolph was the only Raptor to show up with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Cleveland Cavaliers 38-5

Our home game was just a formality as we won easily 114-89 with Darrell Holtz destroying Oti Brown with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 12 blocks while holding Brown to an astonishing 3/24 shooting. Rajon Rondo filled in for Sam Baron’s foul troubled absence with 14 points and 10 assists off the bench.

Cleveland Cavaliers 39-5

Jeff Brown and Ted Ballinger had 25 points each but they couldn’t stop the Cavalier force as we win again 123-108. Steph Curry was named player of the game with 27 points and 5 steals but Sam Baron should feel a bit miffed with 26 points and 15 assists.

Cleveland Cavaliers 40-5

Last night tired our team and Orlando took advantage as they won 109-101 behind Marlon ‘Buzzsaw’ Zinn who had 30 points and 9 assists with five other Magic players in double figures. Sam Baron and Steph Curry fouled out trying to stop the Buzzsaw but had no luck.

Cleveland Cavaliers 40-6

The Bobcats are on the end of our own buzzsaw as we stomp them 113-84 with Steph Curry starting at SG with 24 points. Povilas Tailos top scored for Charlotte with 18 points but they didn’t have anyone else.

Cleveland Cavaliers 41-6

Before our game against Sacramento I have a good chat with Derrick Rose and Orko about their new arrangement. They both agreed that the trade was the right one to do as the Pistons won the championship and they love playing in California. Even though Orko is from Poland he really doesn’t like the cold so living in a city with year round warmth is what he likes. Our relationship didn’t stop the Cavs winning 123-116 behind Dwight Howard’s 22 points and 13 rebounds while Rajon Rondo and Danny Granger were in double figures off the bench. Orko had 23 points while Derrick Rose had 24 points and 13 assists for the losers.

Cleveland Cavaliers 42-6

We win again and it is again behind Dwight Howard as he had 22 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks in our 110-91 win over New York. Varlam Bebutov was brilliant for 32 points but the Knicks shot 35% from the field to doom themselves.

Cleveland Cavaliers 43-6

Sam Baron nearly scores half of the Pacers score as we suffocate them 96-69 with Baron scoring 32 of them. Shane Rein was the best for the Pacers with 15 points but when a team scores 69 points the best isn’t very good.

Cleveland Cavaliers 44-6

Our last game of the month is a 105-81 win over Washington with none other than Sam Baron leading the way with 27 points while Tibor Pleiss contributed 10 points and 5 rebounds in only 13 minutes. The Wizards had five players in double figures but their highest was only 14 points in Jeramy Smith.

Cleveland Cavaliers 45-6

That means that we are still on top, with Orlando a distant 10 games behind for second place while New York and Detroit breathing down their necks. Indiana are lagging in last place with a 8-37 record.

It’s a three way tie in the Western Conference with Dallas, Milwaukee and Los Angeles together at 30-13 while Honolulu and Utah are fighting for last place with 13-33 records.

Cleveland Top Points:
Sam Baron – 20.7
Steph Curry – 17.9
Dwight Howard – 16.6

Cleveland Top Rebounds:
Dwight Howard – 11.6
Darrell Holtz – 8.5
Tibor Pleiss – 4.6

Cleveland Top Assists:
Sam Baron – 7.0
Steph Curry – 6.2

First round of draft prospects –

1 – C Brian Jackson (Pepperdine) Sophomore
Is averaging a double double but is still very raw. Has the height to be a quality C for the future.

2 – C Mitch Lake (Purdue) Freshman
Another 6’9 C that is filled with potential. I swear that most colleges only admit 6’9 Cs and SGs that are shorter than 6’5.

3 – SG Alan Stevenson (UTEP) Junior
Can fill up the cup from anywhere and is a fantastic rebounder even though he is only 6’4.

4 – SG Nino Dolgoruky (Estonia) 19 years old
A nugget of a player who bullies himself to the basket and has all around potential.

5 – SF Eric Maxwell (Seton Hall) Freshman
My pick for the #1 pick because he is averaging 26 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists a game so far as a freshman. Those numbers are Kevin King-esque.

January Awards:

Player of the Month:
Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder – 29.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.8 steal, 0.6 blocks per game.

Rookie of the Month:
Bill Stetson, Seattle Supersonics – 16.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.2 blocks per game.

January Trades:

Chicago trade:
PF Taj Gibson
2020 1st round pick

San Diego trade:
SF Joe Hite

Why for Chicago:
Although Hite was selected 12th in the previous draft he should have gone much higher. He has outstanding length and a scoring knack that can’t be taught. He is still quite raw and the Bulls gave up a high pick for him but they think that he will be a building block for the future.

Why for San Diego:
It is the opposite for the Riders as they believe that a team with a 17-31 record with result in a draft pick that can get a player that is better than Hite. Will that happen? No one knows.

Winner – Chicago
I’m betting that Hite will be a integral part to the Bulls line-up and should make sure that they get above a top five pick.

Our team is floating through these games, especially in our 97-88 loss to Houston as Darrell Hoiberg has the best of Darrell Holtz with 21 points and 11 rebounds while rookie Ketevan Abashidze shut down Danilo Gallinari with 19 points and kept the Italian to 2/14 shooting. Sam Baron was our best with 22 points and 8 assists but I’m hoping that this game is a wake up for the rest of the season.

Cleveland Cavaliers 45-7

That wake up call fell on deaf ears as we got smashed 119-92 to Philadelphia as we got outplayed, plain and simple. Luol Deng and Boroda Beketov top scored with 20 points each as Sam Baron needs to move back to SG as he went 1/4 against Chris Paul.

Cleveland Cavaliers 45-8

A 104-99 streak stopper against Toronto is just what we needed, with Danilo Gallinari, Darrell Holtz and Dwight Howard all recording double doubles. Maybe they should be called ‘3D’ because they hit oppositions in three dimensions. The Raptors’ front court is a strange one as they have Reggie Williams at PF and Dexter Floyd at SF, I would have had them the other way around.

Cleveland Cavaliers 46-8

The Bobcats were well and truly shut down in our 100-76 win with Sam Baron having 20 points and 8 rebounds. JJ Hickson top scored with 17 points but the team shot 30% from the field.

Cleveland Cavaliers 47-8

Danilo Gallinari scored 28 points and sprained his ankle in our 116-79 shellacking of New Orleans. Sam Baron and Dwight Howard also scored over 20 points while Sebastian Ortega top scored with 13 points for the Hornets. Ortega is getting plenty of minutes in the Big Easy and is making the most of it, averaging 17 points a game so far.

Cleveland Cavaliers 48-8

Another win over Charlotte, twice in five days and it wasn’t close, 106-86. Sam Baron was given the Player of the Game title with 24 points but Dwight Howard was equally good with 18 points and 17 rebounds.

Cleveland Cavaliers 49-8

Our largest lead was 43 points as we held the Grizzlies to 5 points in the final term on the way to a 112-69 win. Dwight Howard (20 points, 15 rebounds), Sam Baron (29 points), Steph Curry (20 points, 9 assists) and Danny Granger (19 points in 14 minutes) did the damage as we held Memphis to 31% from the field. Great game by our side and we are headed in the right direction again after that small hiccup.

Cleveland Cavaliers 50-8

It’s time for the All Star festivities as Earl Summerall of Boston won the Slam Dunk Contest by easily taking care of Golden State’s Delawn Pederson 73-55 in the final.

It was another flogging with Anthony Morrow wiping the floor with the competition in the Long Distance Shootout, hitting 17 shots to Luther Marquis and Travis Howard’s 8.

The Rookie/Sophomore game was much closer as the rookies outscored the Sophs by 12 points in the final quarter to take out the game 120-117. Rickie Seegars was named MVP with 25 points and 7 assists while Chris Reese had 17 points and 8 rebounds. On the other side Brandin Schafer top scored with 22 points while Joe Price went toe to toe with Reese with 19 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort.

Kevin King was named All Star MVP with 33 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the East’s 146-130 win. Derrick Rose top scored for the West with 22 points while Matt Bailey had 19 points and 10 rebounds. We had two All Stars in Dwight Howard and Sam Baron while Detroit also had two with Kevin King and Tyreke Evans.

Western Conference starters –
SF – Kevin Durant – Oklahoma City Thunder
PF – Nikolos Bocharkov – Phoenix Suns
C – Matt Bailey – Los Angeles Lakers
SG – Spair Ruffin – Honolulu Sharks
PG – Sam Dye – Denver Nuggets

Eastern Conference starters –
SF – Kevin King – Detroit Pistons
PF – Blake Griffin – Orlando Magic
C – Dwight Howard – Cleveland Cavaliers
SG – Jeff Brown – Nevada Neon
PG – Marlon Zinn – Orlando Magic

First time all stars – Matt Bailey (LAL), Jeff Brown (NEV), and Sam Baron (CLE).

My job is done because we have passed the trade deadline so I take a holiday to Antarctica of all places. Here are the rest of the regular season games.

Houston 103 def by Cleveland 125
Dallas 96 def by Cleveland 145
New Orleans 83 def by Cleveland 103
Cleveland 104 def San Antonio 96
Detroit 106 def by Cleveland 130
Cleveland 125 def Boston 102

Chicago 75 def by Cleveland 111
Cleveland 118 def New York 106
Cleveland 111 def Orlando 88
Cleveland 98 def by Chicago 102
Cleveland 118 def Toronto 105
Cleveland 119 def Minnesota 80
Cleveland 101 def Detroit 79
Cleveland 99 def by San Diego 111
Cleveland 99 def Miami 79
Cleveland 110 def Oklahoma City 92
San Antonio 87 def by Cleveland 114
Cleveland 124 def Utah 88

I have to stop this because of our next game. Final Score – Cleveland 98, Milwaukee 47. That’s right, the Bucks scored a total of 47 points. Here is the box score –

Image

Cleveland 100 def Miami 68
Cleveland 119 def Phoenix 81
Cleveland 119 def New York 90

Hey guys I have been reading th1th0nly's dynasty recently and I realised that I didn't finish this season which sucks a little. I am going to try and belt out this season (hopefully) winning the championship and then probably going to leave this alone.

2020 NBA Playoffs

Eastern Conference:
#1 Cleveland vs. #8 Boston
#2 Orlando vs. #7 Toronto
#3 Detroit vs. #6 New Jersey
#4 New York vs. #5 Philadelphia

Western Conference:
#1 Los Angeles vs. #8 Houston
#2 Dallas vs. #7 Denver
#3 Sacramento vs. #6 Oklahoma City
#4 Portland vs. #5 Milwaukee

This season’s playoff picture is amazing. Five teams over .600 in the East (with two more on the cusp) while the West also has five teams winning 50 games or more. Don’t be surprised if there is a few upsets in the first round.

Eastern Conference First Round: Boston vs. Cleveland

Point Guard
Tony Rein vs. Sam Baron
13.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.9 assists vs. 20.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 7.9 assists

Baron has been magnificent this season and has worked wonders in tandem with Steph Curry. Rein will need to rein in the young Cavalier for the Celtics to have a chance.

Winner - Cleveland

Shooting Guard
Alan Green vs. Steph Curry
12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists vs. 18.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists

As said previously, Curry and Baron have been electric. He won’t have it all his way in this series as Green is 6’8 and a quality defender.

Winner - Cleveland

Small Forward
Jim Seymour vs. Danilo Gallinari
11.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists vs. 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists

Seymour hasn’t justified his draft hype nor his fat contract but should have a decent time against Gallinari. He needs to stay put with the Italian otherwise Gallinari will shoot Boston out of the series.

Winner - Draw

Power Forward
Chris Bosh vs. Darrell Holtz
18.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists vs. 14.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists

The Celtics’ only shining hope and he may be neutralised by the superb defender in Holtz. Bosh needs to be in MVP form to give his team a chance.

Winner - Boston

Centre
Andrea Bargnani vs. Dwight Howard
15.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists vs. 15.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists

Howard and Bargnani have a long history which usually went the way of Superman. The other Italian in the series can trouble Howard by taking him out of the paint and making Howard defend him on the perimeter.

Winner - Cleveland

Bench
Joe Price, Jules Riley, Darren Collison vs. Josh Smith, Rajon Rondo, Danny Granger

There is no contest between these two benches as the Cavs’ bench is on another level. Maybe two levels higher than the Celtics’ bench.

Winner – Cleveland

Prediction – Cleveland in four.

The crowd here in Cleveland are expecting an easy win and we give it to them, basting the Celtics 116-86 as we hold them to 39% from the field. Dwight Howard takes out the player of the game award with 21 points and 13 rebounds while Sam Baron does his best Rajon Rondo impression with 15 points and 15 assists. Josh Smith has a blinder off the bench with 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks in only 16 minutes. The Celtics have five players in double figures but their top scorer was Alan Green who had 14 points on 22 shots.

Cleveland leads 1-0

We need to put Boston to the sword in game two and our whole team responds. Danilo Gallinari has 20 points, Darrell Holtz chips in with 11 points and 11 rebounds, Dwight Howard monsters Bargnani with 20 points and 9 rebounds while Sam Baron dishes it out for 21 points and 12 assists in our 111-88 win to go two up in the series. Tony Rein tries his best for 21 points but Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani combine for 15 points (5/15 FG), 11 rebounds and 8 fouls which isn’t good enough.

Cleveland leads 2-0

The city of Boston are looking for a Cleveland dinner and their team decides to play. Tony Rein has 23 points and 9 assists while Chris Bosh finally wakes up for 24 points and 9 rebounds. Too bad our dynamic backcourt has a monster game, combining for 60 points, 19 assists, 8 rebounds and 7 steals. Crazy. Dwight Howard and Darrell Holtz also have double doubles in our 119-103 win to put the Celtics on the brink of elimination.

Cleveland leads 3-0

There was a nervous energy in the air in game four, with the crowd really doesn’t want their team to finish their season. What does the Celtics do? Shoot 38% from the field while turning the ball over 18 times in our 118-80 series clinching win. Steph Curry won POTG with 24 points but I’m sure Danilo Gallinari will be a little miffed as he had 27 points, while Dwight Howard and Sam Baron picked up double doubles. Alan Green takes 19 shots to score 17 points while Chris Bosh had a paltry 8 points and 5 rebounds.

Cleveland wins series 4-0

Our series was the only sweep but in the next game Detroit beat New Jersey, Sacramento knocked out Oklahoma City and Portland sent Milwaukee home in five games. So far, no upsets. Orlando beat Toronto in six games which leave three series going the distance. And we finally have an upset, as the #5 Philadelphia got past #4 New York in seven games. Not much of an upset but nonetheless still an upset. The Lakers and Mavericks also squeaked past their respective matchups.

Glad to see you've been reading my dynasty! I know it's been a while since I last posted, since college has started getting crazy, but I really hope to get back to it soon.
