Hungry Like the Wolf

Record 2-10

Clearly the team is no good. The team won its games against the 76ers and the Kings. There are a couple of bright spots on this team however, Pekovic has been playing better than expected and now has the starting job at C. Ridnour has been efficient but unspectacular, and O.J. Mayo is scoring 19.8 PPG on .550 TS%.

December 2010

Postby brutusbrutus » Tue Jun 07, 2011 7:56 pm

Record 9-20

The Wolves performed better in December getting a few surprising wins. According to John Hollinger's PER rating Nikola Petrovic is now the most productive player on the team, scoring an even 20.0 on his PER. Petro is scoring 16.3 PPG per 40 mins, along with 10.3 rebounds, his TS% through all of this is .601. The only thing holding Petrovic back is his poor endurance.

O.J. Mayo continues to lead the Wolves in PPG but they have dropped to 17.9.

Record: 12-31

The Timberwolves went into a deep funk in January, again only winning two games. O.J. Mayo is still leading the team in scoring with 17.5 PPG. Antwan Jamison is scoring an incredibly inefficient 14.3 PPG but leads the team in rebounding with 7.

All Star Break Pt. 2

Postby brutusbrutus » Tue Jun 07, 2011 8:20 pm

Minnesota Trades O.J. Mayo!

Arguably Minnesota's best player was traded to Oaklahoma City after just playing 1/2 a season with the franchise.

Oaklahoma City is desperate to make the playoffs, James Harden has suffered Injuries that have had detrimental effects on his play. They desperately needed someone to fill his role, they traded their expiring contract of Morris Peterson and their 2011 first round draft pick to get O.J. Mayo.

Oaklahoma Gets:
O.J. Mayo

Minnesota Gets:
Morris Peterson
Oaklahoma's 2011 draft pick

Winner: It is hard for Minnesota to justify this move, Mayo has proven to be a major talent. Rumor has it that Jeremy Base did not like Mayo's clubhouse attitude.

The Wolves Beat the Heat

Postby brutusbrutus » Tue Jun 07, 2011 8:27 pm

In what will probably be the highlight of the season the Wolves beat the Heat. Corey Brewer contributed 28 points and played stellar defense on Lebron James. The Final score was 110-103.

Febuary 2011

The Wolves ended the month with a 16-41 record. To get to .500 the Wolves would need to win all the rest of their games in a row. The season is all about tanking from here on out.

Record 20-53. The fans agree this team has heart. Winning 20 games is actually a big accomplishment for this team. Antwan Jamison has stepped up his leadership role and really pushed the players to play their best this year.
