From the Coach's Desk

Our first game post-changes was against the Warriors, who are 6-9 and struggling even with David West in the post for them now. Jefferson went 6-11 from the floor for 14 points, Cousins had 14 on 6-9 shooting, Brewer had 17, Rubio had 12 with 11 assists, and we got the quality win 111-97 at home. We scored a whopping 46 points in the paint, something I've been trying to instill in this team, and also pulled down 35 boards as a team. A good solid win.

SIDENOTE: The Celtics scored 155 points... and lost in a 4OT game to the Pistons, 165-155. That's insane.

We travel to OKC to face a Thunder team w/o Kevin Durant, and still lose 91-87. The reason we lost? 37.6% from the floor led by Love (4-11), Cousins (2-8), and Jefferson (5-13). Dorell Wright was 5-6 from beyond and finished with 17 but he was the only player of note.

Portland comes to the Twin Cities and gets manhandled 101-89. Although their defensive big men (Camby and Oden) shut down our post production (combined 23 points between Jefferson, Love and Cousins), Rubio ran circles around the slow Blazers and scored 28 points. Gomes, Sessions, Brewer and Wright all scored in double digits as well as we get another solid win at the Target Center.

We get blasted by a 15-1 Magic team, led by Dwight Howard, the most dominant player in the NBA. He got 23, 11, and 5 blocks, as they beat us 106-83. Sessions had 22, Brewer had 17, Flynn got 7 assists and Cousins had 10 points in the loss.

We get great offense against a poor Miami Heat team but they get better offense as we lose on the road, 107-103. Rubio had 20, Flynn had 17, and 4 other players got in double digits, but it still wasn't enough.

We lose on the road to a very talented yet struggling Nets team, led by Wade and Bosh. 109-86 was the final score, and our big production came from... Trevor Booker, who had 12 points in 14 minutes of play. Cousins had 10, Sessions had 11, and Wright had 13, and that was it for our team.

We lose at home to a not-so-good Clipper team, and have now dropped four in a row. 109-90 was the final score as Jefferson shoots an abysmal 1-10 from the floor, Cousins and Love are silent, but Brewer got 21, and we got 14 from Rubio, 13 from Flynn and 12 from Wright and Sessions.

We lose at home to a very good Nugget team (18-4), 94-81. Our defense was there, holding them to 41.7% from the floor, but we only shot 36.8 as our big men were yet again completely shut down. Wright had the big game tonight with 22, and we have now lost five in a row to fall to 8-12 on the season.
