Thx, Wayne. I suppose if you exported the MDB you could print out the roster etc. from Access. Otherwise they could take a screen shot and crop it! lol That would be my choice. Lot easier than fiddling with the database.

Maryland crushes Auburn 79-58 to win the national title.
George Washington wins the NIT (at least they have the intials GW.. it's like we won a title by proxy)
Delaware St. wins the CIT.
A riot breaks out in the best of 3 finals of the CBI and no champion is declared. Nobody notices.

4/4

Marcus Hunter of San Diego St. wins national Freshman of the Year honors, and gives hope to all small schools everywhere.

High Point soph. Rod Jones deservedly wins Big South MVP. I shudder to think having to deal with him for 2 more years.

A really pleasant surprise we didn't see coming was Josh Brown winning Big South freshman of the year, despite not once winning the weekly honor. ATTABOY Josh! He honestly deserved it, I just didn't think anybody else other than me and my staff knew it.

Coastal Carolina's Junior guard Jeramy Crawford gets named Defensive POY.
Blake Blizzard of Presbyterian gets Coach of the year, which I truly don't understand. The award should clearly have gone to Roy Thompson. Poor guy couldn't get ANY kind of break at the end of the year.

1st team all conference:
Rod Jones So. Guard High point
Ken Augustine Jr. Guard Campbell
ROB WOODS Jr. Guard Gardner-Webb
Doug Martin Sr. Center Liberty (at least we won't have to see HIM again)
Jody Crider So. Center Presbyterian (oh brother! 2 more years of him as well)

2nd team all-conference:
Albert Newton Sr. Guard Winthrop
Kevin Rolle Jr. Guard Radford
Brandon Bradford Sr. Forward Radford
Ben Minor Sr Forward Charleston Southern
Joe Richardson So. Center Coastal Carolina

4/16 Jonathan Grays decided to retire from coaching. I wish him well. Now I need to find a new 2nd assistant to handle recruiting. Kevin and David King each promise me 1 more year, at least. After a couple of days of interviews I am finally able to come to terms on a 3 year contract with Jeremy Patterson, who I believed was the best candidate for the position of those that were interested in it.

4/23 Have a meeting with our AD, who looks a bit less glum than usual. He is pleased that we succeeded in the very minimal goals he set for us at the outset. He warns me though that our surprise run to the championship game of the conference tournament means that everyone is going to expect a lot more out of us in the future. I said, "in that case, how about an increase in our recruiting budget? You don't know what we are up against out there." He almost cracks a glum smile at that, which from him would have been like a guffaw from someone else. Instead he says, "I'll mention it to the board."

The Board of Directors apparently had no problem suppressing THEIR laughter and flatly and unanimously deny the request. Dammit.

May 4: The team decides to throw a party in honor of "Coach" Vicky. She has completed her Masters thesis, and will be leaving us. The team loved her and I will miss her greatly as well. The work she did with our guys academically was remarkable.

May 5: Met with the A.D. today to discuss how we want to try to schedule for next season. Since we are once again going to be trying to integrate the Amoeba Zone into our defensive scheme, I want to try to keep the schedule light again, similar to last year. Try to schedule as many teams as possible that are similar to the teams in our conference.

Also me with my new assistant Jeremy Patterson, who is going to oversee recruiting. We realize we have a bit of a dilemna this year with 4 scholarships to fill. Since we are losing both Woods and Porter after this season, this recruiting class is a pivotal one in terms of our future success. Even though we can't really afford to by the Gold Report for our region, we decide we can't afford NOT to either. We have just 31,200 remaining in the budget for actual recruiting expenses. With 4 scholarships to fill, we will have to be VERY frugal.

6/26: I sit down again with Jeremy and go over his recommendations for our preliminary targets. We will be looking exclusively at perimeter guys this year, and it's imperative we find a couple of scorers.
