The Journey of Mike Schaplowsky

The Journey of Mike Schaplowsky

Postby sportsfanmike » Tue Jan 03, 2012 3:46 am

The phone call came on an early morning, and it came from an old friend. "Mr. Phillip Wong, good to hear from you man." The voice on the other end of the line responded. "Mike, I need a coach." Mike stood back in shock. "You need a what??" Phil Wong laughed over the phone. "A coach Mike, a coach. I went back home to San Francisco and I am the athletic director there. But I need a new mens basketball coach. See the NCAA is doing it soccer style now, and they are doing this whole promotion/relegation business, heck I dunno, I just need a coach. I know you love basketball, you used to beat me and Nick all the time, so how bout it?" Mike thought about it, and agreed. With that, Mike Schaplowsky was working for his old friend Phillip Wong, as the head coach of San Francisco mens basketball.

Just remember, you're not inheriting Bill Russel at C when you go to San Francisco. :D

PointGuard, if I can get a couple players with just half the skills of Bill Rusell, I'll be happy. :D

Since I have very little time to devote to this (working 3 jobs and having other projects on the side will do that to you), and since recruiting is like a foreign language to me, I'm going to play this game like I always have. The computer AI will handle recruiting, practice, depth chart, etc etc for me. All games will be simulated, and I'll do game by game reports. The only games I will actually coach will be tournament games. (In Season, Mid Season, Conference, Post Season)

2011-2012 San Francisco Roster

Seniors

SF James Gilbert (3.0/3.5)
SF Roy Jones (3.0/3.0)
PF Rodney Avery (3.0/3.5)
C Boney Ford (3.5/3.5)
C Bryan Rucker (3.0/3.0)

Juniors

SG Soloman Vines (2.5/2.5)
PF Rashawn Hollins (1.5/3.5)

Sophomores

PG Darrell Ezell (2.0/3.0)
PG Cassidy Martin (1.5/2.0)
SG Andre Huge (1.0/2.5)

Freshmen

PG Chris Rayner (1.0/2.0)
PG Bryant Grant (0.5/2.0)
PG John Johnson (1.0/1.0)
PF Jonathan Maddox (1.5/4.0)
PF Paul Payne (1.5/1.5)

I decided not to include a bunch of information with the roster. With me simming most games I won't get a real feel of each player, so I just figured the position, overall rating, and potential rating were enough. Do you guys like the roster breakdown better by position or by class year? I'm good either way.

From what I could tell I did. I just deleted it and redownloaded and reinstalled it. From what I can tell, all the real team and conference names are there. We'll hope everything works smoothly from this point on.

I just got the news from Jonas Wesby that we landed our first 2 recruits of the season.

Larry Webber, a SF out of Modesto High in Modesto, CA, gave us a verbal. He is averaging 11.6 points and 4.7 rebounds a game. His national rank isn't real inspiring, at 646, but it seems to change week to week, so I'm not too particularly concerned with that at the moment.

Also, Devin Ansley, a SG out of Diamond Bar HS in Diamond Bar, CA, signed with us. He's averaging 11 points a game. We aren't getting the high profile recruits, but with a prestige that isn't very high, we will take what we can get.
