It was just a year ago, player and star Elijah McNugget had lead his team to the DII National Championship. They were undefeated on the season and seemed unbeatable, almost as if they should be a DI team. They made it to the championship and then the inevitable happened, they demolished their opponent.

Elijah McNugget now had a DII Nat'l Title under his belt, but he wanted more. So, what better to do than to go to coaching? At just 23 years of age, McNugget will become the youngest coach to ever coach.

Coach McNugget received a lot of offers and has spent the last week or so trying to cut down on the offers.

McNugget received offers from a couple of top schools, most notably were Memphis, Cincinnati and St. Johns. If he were to take a job at any of these three schools, he'd be the 3rd Assistant. After those three schools, the next top schools that interested Elijah were interested in were DePaul, VCU, Boise State, Hawaii and Murray State. These schools were offering Elijah the 2nd Assistant position. Out of the schools offering the 1st Assistant position, Elijah was interested in none. Then there were the bottom feeders of the NCAA that were offering McNugget the Head Coach spot. Out of these teams, quite a few interested Elijah. McNugget liked Detroit, Cal-Riverside, Maine, Jacksonville, Kennesaw and South Dakota State. There were also the prospect of taking a DII head coach spot and bringing them to DI, that was too challenging though.

McNugget's List
3rd Assistant
Memphis
Cincinnati
St. Johnson

2nd Assistant
DePaul
VCU
Boise State
Hawaii
Murray State

Head Coach
Detroit
Cal-Riverside
Maine
Jacksonville
Kennesaw
South Dakota State
--------------------------------------------------

Decision will be the next post

McNugget's List

Boise State
Hawaii
Murray State

Head Coach
Detroit
Cal-Riverside
Maine
Jacksonville
Kennesaw
South Dakota State
--------------------------------------------------

Had their been any colleges in Buffalo, that would've been Elijah's immediate choice. However, there wasn't, so now, McNugget faces quite a tough decision.

The first school he decided to cut off the list, Cincinnati. They were the team with the 2nd highest prestige, 62, on his list (6 out of all offers). Elijah decided to cut Cincinnati loose because out of Memphis and St. Johns, if he had went to a school to be a 3rd assistant, he'd pick them two over Cincinnati.

Next he wanted to get rid of a spot for 2nd assistant.

It was quite easy for him, DePaul and Murray State would no longer be on the list. This had nothing to do with either of the teams prestige, facilities, payroll, academics or his own contract. Just the fact that VCU, Boise St. and Hawaii are much more appealing to him.

Eliminating from the Head Coaching list was also based on which teams were generally more appealing. Kennesaw and Jacksonville would be the next to cut off of McNugget's list.

2nd Round Survivors
3rd Assistant
Memphis
St. Johns

2nd Assistant
VCU
Boise State
Hawaii

Head Coach
Detroit
Cal-Riverside
Maine
South Dakota State
--------------------------------------------------
Next up McNugget's goal was to cut down the lists quite a bit, he wanted 5 schools remaining max.

Memphis would be the first to go, the idea of coaching at St. Johns was more interesting to McNugget. The school was closer to home and would see 'Cuse at least once a year, McNugget's favorite school.

For the 2nd assistants, McNugget figured he'd cut it right down to Hawaii. He was Hawaiian ethnically and coaching at Hawaii (in Hawaii) would be quite the experience.

As for the Head Coaching teams, McNugget originally thought he'd be coaching at Cal-Riverside or Detroit, after re-thinking it, McNugget would be chopping those two off the list.
--------------------------------------------------
Finalists
3rd Assistant
St. Johns

2nd Assistant
Hawaii

Head Coach
Maine
South Dakota State
--------------------------------------------------
The final decision was easily the toughest decision made since deciding whether he'd go to an extremely small DI school, or go to a DII school with a great rep (on their level).

Right away McNugget would be getting rid of St. Johns and Hawaii, while these two schools both interested McNugget a ton, what interested him most was being a Head Coach.

In the end, Elijah would be going to Maine. South Dakota State only had a prestige of 1, while Maine had a prestige of 16 and was willing to only have a 2 year contract instead of 3.

Contract - 2 years/$80,000 - Maine
