Finish up, Coach. As I'm sure you know the official release dropped today. Win one more title on the way out the door.

Regional Final: #17 UMass W 72-60

The committee did such a bang-up job with their seeds this year, that no 1 or 2 seed remains in the tournament. Ourselves and Purdue remain as 3 seeds, 2nd ranked Gonzaga screwed over again with a 4 seed and 6 seed Harvard (Harvard!) fill out the final 4.

National Championship: #14 Purdue W 69-57

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

In many ways this was more satisfying than our first championship, because going into this season, many thought it would be a rebuilding year, and in many ways it was, and we had a lot of growing pains early. But the emergence of JUCO transfer Jason Johnson as a prime time scorer, some absolutely incredible performances by the Rocket, the always steady play of Travann Ohl at both ends of the floor, and some terrific play down the stretch by Osei Petion, who saved the best game of his career for last, saw this team gel into a hurricane. Even when we shot poorly most teams couldn't keep pace with us, and when we shot well, most teams were completely gobsmacked.

A wonderful, wonderful season.

Travann Ohl is named tournament MVP, most deservingly, and was MWC Defensive Player of the year, and was joined on the first team all-conference by Matt Houston. I am fortunate enough to have had the talent available to let them win Conference Coach of the year for me.
