Bill Russell re-creation

New Season- 5/1 until opening day

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 5:48 pm

5/1: New season. I will do almost nothing with recruiting. I’ll IDS some guys on 6/26, offer scholarships on 8/21, and that’s it.

We’re picked #3 preseason. WHAT!

Buying National Gold.

6/25: Buying Indy, all the regionals.

6/26: Looking at 14, 9 big, 5 guards.

7/31: Been through the kid camps. Our team looks pretty unbeatable.

8/7: Norton Candidates: #1 Russell, #13 Cas Green, C-PF-SF, #20 Andre Dawson, PF-C-SF, #26 KC Jones, #36 Kyle Davis SF-PF.

8/15: I offer to 2 PGs, an SF, 2 Cs.

9/11: Lose one recruit.

9/18: Lose 4 more.

We have a schedule. We’re at the Las Vegas Winter Jam. Mostly playing ranked teams.

9/25: We lose 3 more recruits. I guess the head coach kinda makes a diff!

10/2: We lose another recruit. I quit.

First day of practice. Rotation is set.

10/23: #1 in the new poll.

11/6: Nope, not doing any exhibition games.

#1 Michigan State, 8-0, is in. BIG test.

We beat LSU then run through the Winter Jam

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 8:07 pm

#20 LSU is here.

12/13: 69-46. 12, 5, 1, 3, 4 for Russ. I guess they can’t all be great games. Foul trouble held him to 21 minutes and got me a T, and very nearly a 2nd.

7-2 UNLV is 1st in the Las Vegas Winter Jam.

12/16: 82-50. 27, 13, 1, 2, 1. KC dominated his man.

5-3 Texas A & M in the Jam semifinal.

12/17: 82-49. 37, 27, 6, 4, 7 for Russ (WOW!!!). KC shut out another PG, 0 points, 1 assist.

Russell’s stats are more in line this year. Points are only slightly too high. RBs are too low, but close. Blocks are way too low but at least he’s leading the league and hovering near 4.5.

#2, #1.

It’s #19 Louisville in the tourney final. Wed beat them by 22 in the season opener at our place.

12/18: 61044. 27, 19, 2, 0, 1 for Russ. KC stifled a 4 ½ star PG.

We beat Duke, then win 1st 4 in conf.

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 8:31 pm

I had a reserve SG who kept getting on Russell’s case. I warned him once… A week later I warned him again. This week I kicked his ass off the team and banned him from the gym. Any more trouble and I’ll get him kicked out of school. I let him know we’ll honor his scholarship for the rest of the year if he stays away.

#10 Duke comes to town. Last game before conference play starts.

12/19: 46-35. They played slow down and had 2 and sometimes 3 guys on Russ; it almost worked. 15, 9, 2, 3, 0 for Russ, despite all of that.

13-0.

12/25: #1, #1. About time!

5-6 Oregon State is 1st in conf. play, here.

12/29: 76-42. 16, 9, 5, 2, 1 for Russ, who looked really tired. Blocks are down to 3.5 per.

At #17, 11-2 Stanford.

1/2: 76-55. 38, 18, 4, 1, 1- Russ didn’t look tired tonight.

At #15 Oregon.

1/5: 78-48. 38, 16, 4, 4, 1 for Russ. KC had 10 assists against a really good PG.

2-12 Arizona State is in. This could be ugly.

1/9: 77-39. 26, 12, 2, 1, 2 for Russ.

At 4-11 Colorado.

1/12: 74-49. 38, 16, 3, 1, 2 for Russ.

At Washington, 9-7.

1/16: 70-51. 24, 14, 3, 0, 2 for Russ.

8-9 Utah is in.

1/19: 95-58. 34, 16, 7, 0, 5 for Russ.

At 8-10 USC.

4 more including a butt kicking of #4 UCLA

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 9:03 pm

#4 UCLA, here. This one could test us.

1/26: 85-46. Well, maybe not such a test at that. 20, 12, 1, 0, 2 for Russ.

Norton 1/4 final list announced, Russell #1.

#25, 13-7 Arizona is here.

1/30: 66-43. 15, 7, 1, 1, 0. Another team takes Russell out of the equation. And gets crushed. Name your poison.

At 7-14 Washington State.

2/3: 81-56. 32, 15, 9, 0, 4 for Russ. 12 assists for KC.

At 7-15 Oregon State.

2/6: 79-46. 26, 10, 3, 2, 1 for Russ.

Disappointed, early in the season Russ was really blocking shots. His average is down to 2.8, 4th in the country. His rating is 100

We run the regular season table.

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 9:22 pm

I want to finish this association tonight so I can start the new one with sh*t kicker coach Frank Bailey who’ll try to bring South Carolina Upstate all the way from V to A in a Promotion/Relegation association. Fading fast though.
It’s been a busy weekend. Frank has more personality than a room full of comedians, although he takes himself pretty seriously.

The following preview has been approved for mature audiences:

"Pass the dang ball, Reggie, yer dribblin' like ya put pine tar on it. That's fer baseball bats, ya idjit! Box OUT, Mickey, yer butts fer workin' not wigglin'!"

2/9: #23, 17-7 Stanford is in.

85-40. 24, 19, 5, 0, 4 for Russ. KC had a great game, 14, 4, 4 and held the other PG to 0 and 0.

#13, 18-6 Oregon. We won by 30 there.

2/12: Russ is still #1 on the Norton list. Semis announced today.

2/13: 88-65. 34, 15, 8, 3, 2. KC had 9, 5, 5 and beat a very good PG.

At 8-17 Arizona State.

2/16: 80-42. 26, 19, 6, 0, 0.

6-20 Colorado is here to close out the regular season.

2/20: 38, 11, 5, 0, 1.

A long rest before the post season, 16 days.

The conference tourney

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 9:40 pm

3/9: Play in day. All the favorites won so we play 13-15 Utah. Beat them 95-58.

3/10: 94-62. 46, 21, 5, 1, 4 for Russ. Talk about saving it for the postseason! KC outplayed a 5 star PG.

Oregon was upset by 18-11 Arizona.

3/11: 61-40. 10, 8, 1, 0, 3 for Russ, who was in foul trouble all night. Cas Green got 16 RBs to pick up the slack.

As everyone in the world expected it’s #4, 28-4 UCLA for the title. They’ll want revenge for the 39 point pasting we put on them.

3/12: 95-66. 23, 8, 4, 1, 1 for Russ, foul trouble again. Senior superstars are supposed to be protected. 3 of his 4 fouls were touch fouls. I got T’d and almost tossed.

KC was held to 22 min. with foul troubles. Our other guys won this one, Green, Kemp and Davis all had hot hands.

In case anyone thinks this NCAA title is a shoe in, Kansas has lost exactly once all year.

Selection Day

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 9:44 pm

Selection day: #1 in D. C., East Regional. #2 is UCLA, 33 Georgetown, #4 Memphis, #5 Oklahoma State.

The committee screws it up yet again and puts Kansas #1 in the Midwest so we’ll meet them in the semifinal instead of the final.

Michigan State #1 in the South.

North Carolina #1 in the West.
