I chatted with him briefly. He says he still enjoys basketball but looks forward to beginning his Ph. D. work. Cornell has officially accepted him for that and he’ll move to Ithaca in early May, right after the semester ends. I asked him if he thought he’d miss hoops and he didn’t really answer.

3/16: 83-57.

59, 14, 4, 3 for Ali
, 8, 4, 3 for Loft.

#10 seed Texas Tech upset #7 Miami of Ohio, so they’re next. 19-12, 10-8.

Finished 3rd in conf., lost in the semis. A very good C and not much else.

3/18: 91-54.

Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Aug 24, 2013 4:35 am

#3 seed, #8 ranked Indiana, 25-5, 13-3. Finished 1st, lost in the first round.

Some bad losses but some talent, especially outside. Not good with the ball.

3/23: 77-64. We trailed by as many as 9 and it was close for 27-28 minutes.

59, 14, 2, 1, 8 for Ali.

#1 seed, #3 ranked Georgia Tech, 32-4, 15-1 is next
. Lost only to top 5 teams.

Very strong at 1, 2, 5 but that’s about it.

3/25: 80-63 and we never trailed.

51, 9, 2, 3, 2 for Ali, 2 guys had 6, 3 had 5.

We’ll play #1 ranked Duke, and #1 Kansas will play unranked Florida State who got to the Final Four as a #8 seed!

The rest of the way, the end of the dynasty

Postby Wayne23 » Sat Aug 24, 2013 4:57 am

Duke is 33-1, 15-1, lost only to FL. ST, way back on 1/11. Six very strong players but they lost their SG to a broken arm. They play solid D and may be the best rebounding team we’ve seen in the four years of the Ali era.

4/1: 77-52 and we never trailed.

57, 14, 3, 3, 4 for Ali who was incredible.
7, 1, 3 for Lamb.

Smog got hurt early (back). I don’t think he’ll play in the title game. Lamb will start.

As expected it’s #1 overall Kansas for the title. They’re 36-1, 17-1
, losing only to Ok. ST on 1/16. They are very good, very deep, and they play excellent D.

4/3: 88-67 and again, we never trailed. Ali did it, 4 years, 4 titles, 136-0. No one like him and never will be again.

50, 10, 0, 1, 2 for Ali.

4/4: Awards: Ali swept everything at the national level and in conf. I got conf. coach of the year. No one else named to the conf. team.

4/9: If I get a good offer I’ll take it. Going to Berkeley, a perfect fit!

In 4 years Ali averaged 57.o PPG, had 7,756 points, averaged over 90% from the field, from 3 point range, and never missed a free throw, 1760-1760, averaged 3.5 assists, 11.6 RBs (1582 total), 3.5 blocks, 1.3 steals, .8 TOs, and never fouled out of a game.

This ends the dynasty.

Way to go, Wayne! You finished the dynasty!

Obviously your plan worked...you hatched a monster in Ali.

Congratulations on a 136-0 record and 4 national titles. I hope Ali does well in grad school. It's fortunate he has decided not to play pro ball because the NBA would have to move the foul line to 35 feet away from the basket.

Just wanted to see if it could be done but honestly, it was kind of boring. Back to my other two dynasties, the broken computer was fixed awhile ago (That's what started this if anyone remembers).

7,756 freakin' points. even adjusting it for the 3 years of eligibility that Marovich had, that's freakin' insane. and wayne, no offense, but all your dynasties are boring.... won the national title...ho hum, next year we'll see if we can do it again, ho hum..... Have a losing freakin' season once will ya?

Not with this dynasty but yeah. I wonder if it's because of taking the Jucos with the others. It does seem that it's been too easy.
