Las Vegas Winter Jam

Off to the Las Vegas Winter Jam. First up is St. John’s, 3-6. Struggling.

12/16: 89-49.


+20, +3, 65-33%.

51, 8, 4, 1, 5 for Ali, 9, 1, 2 for Smog, 8, 3, 3 for Walk, 6, 4, 4, 1 for Fark.

#6 seed Western Kentucky, 7-2, upset Houston. Weak schedule. Starting SF is hurt. We’re the only favorite who won in the 1st round.

12/17: 80-52.

+9, +3, 60-34%.

54, 19, 2, 1, 8 for Ali, 12, 2 for Fark.

#4, RPI #1.

#8 seed Pepperdine, 5-5
, made it to the finals. Weak schedule, weak D. Some talent outside but not much.

12/18: 92-64.

+28, -2, 64-47%.

51, 17, 4, 0, 5 for Ali, 9, 3 for Smog.

Lamb is 100%, Bray is hurt, day to day.

Three tough road games coming up. At #13, 8-2 Georgia Tech. Very strong back court. 4 guys who can really play.

12/19: They never led but they stayed close for a long time, 83-69.

+17, -13 (21 TOs), 64-44%.

56, 14, 1, 1, 1 for Ali, 9, 4, 2 for Camp.

At #8 Michigan State, 10-3. Just beat #3 Arizona but a couple of bad losses. Very good inside game but not strong at guard.

12/22: 90-74. They were all over us early and led by 13 at the half and then 16 early in the 2nd. Then Ali scored 11 straight and we were on our way. Interestingly enough their backcourt gave us fits. Didn’t expect that.

+2, -3, 63-49%, fouls 13-26.

58, 10, 3, 4, 2 for Ali, 7, 8, 1, 1, 1 for Camp, 13 for Smog.

Last pre-conf. game is at #7 North Carolina, 9-2. One bad loss, one terrible loss, only one game vs. a top 25 team. They score lots of points outside but have trouble taking care of the ball.

12/26: 98-73, Never a game, we led by 42 at one point.

+6, even, 74-54%.

62, 9, 5, 0, 1 for Ali, 8, 5, 4 for Camp, 9, 2, 3 for Lamb, 9, 3, 1 for Fark. Their SG had 33.

15-0, beat 8 ranked teams, 5 top 10 including #1.

3-0 in conf., no challenge at all

At 6-7 Columbia to start conf. play. We expect to go 14-0, only Yale has a winning record and they haven’t played anyone.

, alone in 2nd. Beat them by only 18 at home.

1/30: 84-75. These guys actually do challenge us, the only team in conf. that does. No tourney so we won’t play them again.

NCAA 1st 2 rounds

3/12: Selection day. Not in the East.

Not in the Midwest.

#1 in the South
. #2 Michigan State, #3 Southern Cal, #4 Florida, #5 Georgia Tech.

We start with Sacramento State, 16-14, 8-8. Finished 5th, won their tourney. This should be ugly.

3/17: 94-63.

75, 9, 2, 1, 3 for Ali
, 6, 3, 3, 1, 1 for Camp.

#8 seed Marquette, 20-10, 10-6. Beat them by 28 in November. Finished 3rd, lost in the 2nd round. Some inside strength.

3/19: Crazy game, 109-91. Most points we’ve ever scored and most we’ve ever given up.
