Hi everybody, and welcome to my dynasty report. In this dynasty, I'm gonna play as an 18-year-old Head Coach at North Carolina Central.

When I committed to NC Central in 2011, I already knew they had a basketball program (I know everything.) Coach Bates had been fired after an abysmal 0-27 season and the Eagles were looking for a new head coach. shockingly, they chose me, the 18-year-old freshman, to become the head coach of NCCU Basketball, and so our story begins...

I won't go much into recruiting or stats. I'm only gonna bring up some stats when somebody scores 20-something points or something crazy like that.

Note: This dynasty uses the 2013-14 NCAA teams with the exception of Massachusetts-Lowell (whom I can't implement into the Independent conference due to the lack of Division II teams allocated in the game.)

The Season Starts Now...

Postby JMD » Tue Oct 22, 2013 7:05 pm

Nov. 14th VS. North Florida
The game started out well for us, with NC Central building a 12-3 lead in the first 5 minutes of play, and then the Ospreys came roaring back to a 27-22 lead with 5 minutes left, but the Eagles would have the last laugh in the first half, nailing a 3-point shot at the buzzer to take a 33-30 lead.

And what did they do with that momentum, you ask? THEY WASTED IT! After battling through a 24-point deficit with 10 minutes left, UNF iced the game with 15 seconds left with a 3-pointer to lead and win 69-60.

Final Score: North Carolina Central (0-1) 60, North Florida (1-0) 69

Despite the inauspicious beginning, I felt confident about my team going into non-conference play.

Freshman Point Guard Towson Riviere had 33 points for the Eagles, and also scooping up 11 rebounds.

Nov. 18th @ #3 Kentucky (1-0)

That was NOT a typo. We face THE Kentucky Wildcats at Rupp Arena. Godspeed.

While the Wildcats managed to build a 14-7 lead early in the game, NCCU showed the heart and determination of a champion by taking the lead on a last-second dunk to end the first half with a 38-36 lead. Looks like this 'softy' just got rock-solid.

the second half went down to the wire, with Kentucky taking a 70-69 lead with 6 seconds left. After a timeout, NC Central inbounded the ball and nailed a 3-point buzzer beater.

Biggest...

Upset...

EVER.

Period.

#DaDaDa

Final Score: North Carolina Central (1-1) 72, #3 Kentucky (1-1) 70

Towson Riviere again lit up the scoreboard, scoring 35 points and blocking 4 shots.

Nov. 21st VS. Kansas State (0-2)

Inspired by the Kentucky upset, NC Central pummeled the K-State Wildcats in the first half 48-20.

The massacre continued in the second half, with the Eagles winning big 88-46.

Final Score: North Carolina Central (2-1) 88, Kansas State (0-3) 46

The Next Michael Jordan? Riviere continues to light 'em up, dropping 45 on the lowly Wildcats (of Kansas State, that is.)

After the game, I bumped into a couple of girls and we really got into it. That's all I'm gonna say about it.
