We now reach the conclusion of our divisional run down, with a review of the Pacific Division.

Portland Pioneers – The Pioneers have landed the Pacific title 5 times in 10 seasons. When not in the playoffs, they have bounced around the middle of the division, and in 2014 not only did they win the Division, but thanks to some prudent trading, also managed to nab the 1st pick in the lotto!

Phoenix Beams – The Beams have a checkered past, riddled with upsets in surprises. In 2017-18 they made it all the way to the USPBA finals where both times they were beaten by the Metros. Both times, they scraped into the finals in last spot with 42-40 records. Constant features of the mid table, they need to make big changes if they are to make an impact in the league.

Golden State Spartans – The Spartans really are a surprise package, in the sense that you never know what you're going to get from them one season to the next.. 1 season they finish with a strong +.500 record, the next they are in the lottery, a pattern that has continued throughout the league.

Seattle Speed - The speed constantly feature at the lower end of the Pacific. They have only achieved a positive record in 3 out of 10 series, in 2016 they won 61 games and managed the divisional title, before again sliding into mediocrity, slumping enough last season to take the first overall selection in the draft.

Los Angeles Waves – The Los Angeles fans are desparate for success.. The only success this team has had is in the lottery. In 10 seasons, they have finished bottom of the division 4 times, and have only once finished with an even 50-50 record. They are so bad, they cant even win the lottery, with their highest pick being pick 3 in 2019.

Los Angeles Riders – The other team in LA, not in a good way, just as bad as the Waves, also with 4 last place finishes in the division. Only once in 10 seasons, have they finished with a +.500 record, 42-40 in 2018. They are the laughing stock of the league, and if any team was to get relocated, this franchise is no.1 for the bookies, at unbackable odds.

Sometimes, when we revisit our past, and get lost in our history, we get jolted back to reality. The Crazy Frog blared to life as an incoming message was received on my phone.. I smiled, the simple joys in life, even in 2022 the crazy lil guy still annoyed the crap outta people.. Time to flick to the USPBA page, the commissioner was making an announcement..

Commissioner Joe Thomas took to the stage, USPBA and sponsor logos filled the screen behind him, no press, just an announcement from the inner sanctum of league headquarters.

“With just 6 hours to go before the official announcement, the USPBA commission would like to declare the running is down to 2 candidates..” began the commissioner, with a broad smile spreading out across his face... He was shooting down the dream of 3 cities, and the clown was smiling..

Instinctively I could feel my posture stiffen up, and without realizing or intended I shuffled towards the edge of the seat, waiting to see if we were still in it...

Mr Thomas continued “ All 5 cities put up great proposals, but for where the league sits now, 3 teams don't quite fit into the plan.... So without further ado, I can announce Dallas, Toronto, and Brooklyn will not be joining the USPBA next season, leaving it down to St Louis and Las Vegas....”

I clenched a fist and punched the air overhead.. We were still in the hunt, and with the favorites Dallas out of the race, it was anyones guess who the commission was favoring now.. The audio from the TV blurred into the background, as both my cell phone and desk phone rang simultaneously...

So it came down to St Louis and Las Vegas.. Who would have figured this would be the case when the journey began 10 years ago......
