Waking up in Toronto

Postby IWWROCKS » Wed Aug 01, 2012 4:41 am

Yeah that was a very good trade I felt, and I really dont like Bargnani so glad to get rid.

Gortat for me though is my favourite move of the year. Dump a player out for the year in a position I dont need, and a few worthless 2nd Round Picks, and get back a player who's been huge already for me, player of the game repeatedly, and a 1st round pick that atm is top 3. Beautiful!

Yeah, I'm very surprised Phoenix agreed to that trade.

Yeah it's hard to think why they would. Maybe they rate Johnson that highly. I didn't see if Gortat had been complaining alot or anything...maybe he had been fighting alot. Even so a very strange one, but I won't be complaining!

GM Notes

A rough month. Kirilenko went down injured and was out for the majority of it and that really hurt us. Our playoff hopes are probably over now but if I am given another year I feel pretty confident we can be a playoff team now we have Marcin and if we act well in the draft. Lets hope we finish April strong.

GM Notes

Well a dissapointing season but I see alot of potential for the future if i'm kept around. That's a big if right now though. I have plans in my head for the draft. It looks like we will get two top 5 picks if the lottery goes to plan.

Final Standings

Eastern Conference

Miami Heat (62-20)
Philadelphia 76ers (50-32)
Boston Celtics (49-33)
Milwaukee Bucks (42-40)
Chicago Bulls (40-42)
Indiana Pacers (40-42)
Atlanta Hawks (40-42)
Brooklyn Nets (39-43)
---------------------------
New York Knicks (37-45)
Cleveland Cavaliers (37-45)
Orlando Magic (37-45)
Detroit Pistons (33-49)
Toronto Raptors (31-51)
Washington Wizards (29-53)
Charlotte Bobcats (26-56)

How bad does the eastern conference look?! 4 out of 8 playoff teams have sub .500 records!!

Western Conference

Oklahoma City Thunder (61-21)
San Antonio Spurs (58-24)
Minnesota Timberwolves (57-25)
Los Angeles Clippers (51-31)
Los Angeles Lakers (47-35)
Utah Jazz (45-37)
Golden State Warriors (42-40)
New Orleans Hornets (41-41)
--------------------------
Dallas Mavericks (38-44)
Houston Rockets (36-46)
Portland Trailblazers (36-46)
Memphis Grizzlies (35-47)
Sacremento Kings (35-47)
Denver Nuggets (34-48)
Phoenix Suns (22-60)

What a contrast to the East. They may have the worst team in the NBA with Phoenix, but the rest is a cut above. But only 1 team can win the NBA Title and Miami will certainly be a formidable test.

Off-Season

Owner Call

The owner rang today and I was very honest with my assesment of the team. We were not good enough but have the potential to do better. At the beggining of the season I was very concerned about Jose Calderon but now I am determined to keep him after a very solid season. If we can do that + draft well i'm confident we will be fine.

In terms of next season I beleive we can make the playoffs and thankfully i'm allowed to go 10-15mil into the cap. Very good news!

Staff

I'm going to keep faith with the coaching staff for now. It is the last year on the contracts though so they need to get this team performing well or they will not have extensions coming their way.
