I don't really follow the question.

Congrats on the great season. I agree that you overpaid on Shumpert and Chandler but as the old saying goes, "you have to spend money to make money". Good luck next season.

Interesting idea, to blow up the team entirely and start over. I like the makeup of the team, and hopefully it all turns out well!

I purposely paid too much for Chandler and Shumpert, because its a rebuilding Sacramento team. No matter how good the ownership or the coaches are the destination basically requires overpaying players.

Edit: Sorry that was suppose to be a reply to the comment above this one.)

Thanks

2016 NBA Draft

Kings Draft:

Pick #21 Tom Riverie: The Ohio State Center enjoyed a break-out season during his senior year. The Kings were elated to get this raw 7'0" 301 pound center out of the draft. Riverie is a player that only started seriously playing basketball late into his teens. Riverie is definitely a project that might take years to develop, but this kind of potential is not usually available after the lottery. There are also conditioning issues that some scouts have raised.

Pick #51 Andre DeWolfe: The PG from Ohio State who played alongside the Kings first round pick. DeWolfe is a pass first point guard, with a good basketball IQ but very low athleticism. DeWolfe will have to develop rang to the 3pt line to have a shot at lasting long in the NBA.

Pick #60 Matt Cleaver: Cleaver is a SG out of the University of Indiana. Cleaver's college career was very sub-par aside from his senior year where he put up his best numbers in every category. Cleaver doesn't do enough well to really make it in the NBA, it is unlikely he will even make the Kings.

Off-Season Strategy 2016:

The Kings want to purge their roster of unnecessary players and add depth to their roster.

Out: PG Kyle Jones(Rights renounced), C Andris Biedrins(team option declined, rights renounced) C Omar Asik(team option declined and rights renounced)

On the Trading Block: Grevis Vasquez, Nick Collison, Larry Blackman

Off-Season goals: Pick up a quality PF and a backup C, create depth at the Guard positions.

Summer League 2016

Key Players: A.C. Nealy, Donnie Largent, Tom Riverie

The Kings once again went 4-1, A.C. Nealy dominating the summer league this time, winning the summer league MVP and averaging close to 30 PPG. Largent and Riverie for the most part had impressive performances as well.

Free Agency

Postby brutusbrutus » Sun Sep 09, 2012 10:30 pm

Free Agency:

No. 1 goal: Sign Amir Johnson, Johnson fits many needs for the team. Johnson would make an excellent backup to Robert Alexander and could also backup Tyson Chandler, Johnson is durable and good at defense especially against power forwards. Johnson knows his limitations and scores at a low volume but very efficiently. The Kings are prepared to offer Johnson a contract starting at around 8.5 million per year, which is expensive for a backup but Johnson very might ties the team together and is heavily coveted by the front office.

Matt Cleaver the #60 pick was released to make room for the addition of Johnson, if Johnson so chooses to Sign with the Kings.
