James’ Heat teammate Dwyane Wade had 28 points to lead the East in scoring. Greg Monroe had a great showing in his first all-star appearance with 16 points, ten boards and five blocks.
For the West, Kevin Durant did all he could to win it for his squad as he poured in 40 points. The next highest scorer was Rudy Gay off the bench with 22. Our very own James Harden had 14 points off the bench on 5/6 shooting. Blake Griffin registered a DNP:CD in an All-Star game…ouch!
Speaking of ouch, and you hate to see this in a game for the fans, but just two minutes into the game, Kevin Love reinjured his wrist. The diagnosis came back shortly after. The Timberwolves’ forward broke it again and will now miss two months. We wish him a quick recovery.
