So, I've decided to start a new dynasty in which I chronicle the careers of the top players at each position, plus a couple of young foreign players.
Here are the 11 players:
Justin Walcott PG 6-1 164 22 Miami (OH) RANK #9
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
21.3 8.5 9.5 1.2 2.0
Looks to be a weak point guard class. Walcott can do a little bit of everything and is the second best ballthief of the class.
Evan Wilcox PG 6-2 182 20 Vanderbilt RANK #12
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
12.6 6.2 5.8 0.9 1.2
Two years younger than Walcott, Wilcox appears to have plenty of potential.
Charles Robinson SG 6-4 192 21 Notre Dame RANK #1
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
26.5 4.0 9.6 1.3 1.7
Appears to be the best scorer of the draft. Ranked #1 for the entire year. Rebounds well for a 6-4 guard.
Ricardo Phillips SG 6-3 211 22 UConn RANK #3
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
22.2 7.0 7.3 1.2 1.3
Phillips has lived in the shadow of Robinson for 3 years, narrowly losing out on both the fresehman of the year and national player of the year awards to him. A much better passer than Robinson, but a lesser scorer and rebounder.
Derrick Bender SF 6-6 225 19 UCLA RANK #4
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
21.8 3.8 12.7 2.0 1.4
A crazy good rebounder for his position. Bender can also block shots and score. He has a tremendous upside and is drawing some comparisons to Andrei Kirilenko and Shawn Marion.
Guo-feng Li SF 6-6 217 19 China RANK #13
International Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
17.2 3.4 10.9 0.9 2.1
Dominated in the Chinese Leauge last season, was All-Leauge and All-Defense First Team. The best ballthief in the draft also rebounds well, compared very heavily to Derrick Bender
Francis Meadows SF 6-5 207 18 Australia RANK #15
International Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
14.3 2.2 5.0 1.3 0.9
Was just 17 during the Austalian season. Very raw but could develop well if given the time.
Chris Butler PF 6-10 238 21 Texas A&M RANK #2
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
25.4 2.8 15.6 1.2 1.5
Rebounds and Scores at will. Passing isn't the best, but other than that plays a fantastic all
Bart Harris PF 6-10 254 19 Iowa RANK #5
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
21.6 3.3 6.9 1.4 0.6
Built in the mold of Andrea Bargnani, can't rebound at all for a 6-10 power forward, but has great offensive skill that will find him a niche on some team.
Jamaal Williams C 6-10 279 19 Oregon RANK #7
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
14.7 4.3 8.2 1.7 0.6
A young center with plenty of upside. Passing ability is well developed in comparison to his overall game.
Tip Sullivan C 6-9 278 22 Dayton RANK #6
College Stats:
Points Assists Rebounds Blocks Steals
22.2 4.1 12.5 2.7 0.6
3 years older than Williams and looks to make a much more immediate impact to whatever team drafts him. An overall good player and appears to be one of the better shot blockers of the draft.
