The United Basketball Association

So I started a 23 team fictional league at the year 2013. Before the beginning of the 2018-2019 season two expansion teams, Miami and New Orleans, were added to the league. Now I've simmed the first 15 years. So I thought it would be interesting and pick apart all of the all-time greats of the first 15 years of the league and compare them to later generations.

My personal favorite player from this league is Combo Guard Mark Jeter. Jeter is one of the most dominant guards of all time, especially on offense. He has a ludicrous outside shot, averaging upwards of 45% most years. In general his offensive game was and still is virtually unstoppable, in fact he began his third season with 21 straight games with 25 or more points. He was a rookie in the first year of the league, meaning that he wasn't generated in a draft class. He is now 34 years a beginning his decline after 15 dominant seasons. He played his rookie year in New Jersey before being traded to the Seattle franchise he has played for ever since. He stands 6-3 and 182 pounds.

Career Stats:
1153 Games Played and Started
38.8 Minutes Per Game
26.4 Points Per Game
7.5 Assists
5.1 Rebounds
1.3 Steals
0.8 Blocks
2.4 Turnovers
193 Postseason Games

Jeter also greatly raises his game each year in the postseason. This lead to his Seattle team winning 4 titles out of the 6 finals appearances they've made. His Seattle team and an also dominant New York team that I'll get to later formed an electric rivalry, New York holding a regular season edge 17-13 These teams met in the Finals three times (Seattle winning two), won 7 of the 15 titles, and appeared a combined 11 times in the Finals.

Career Accolades:
4x MVP 2017, 2021-23
11x All-UBA First Team 2014-15, 2017-19, 2021-26
10x All-Star 9 as a Starter, 1 as a reserve (Although this could've been a couple higher as he missed at least two due to injury while he was in MVP form)
4x UBA Champion
4x UBA Finals MVP
2013 Rookie of the Year

Now for the most dominant Center, Wayland Collum, a career New York Knick. He was the first in a long line of physically imposing, freakishly athletic big men. Collum is 6-9 and a ripped 284. Team records have his wing-span at a stunning 7-4 and his vertical leap at 38 inches making him one of the most unstoppable players ever to play, although his stamina put a slight hamper on him, although that may be due to his extreme effort on both sides of the court.. For the better part of a decade he was the best defensive player, while also constantly being a top-5 offensive player. He may just be the best two way player ever to grace a UBA court. Collum is 35 and like Jeter is beginning to show real signs of declining.

Collum's Career Stats:
1191 Games Played/Started
33.0 Minutes
25.9 Points
11.1 Rebounds
1.3 Assists
2.7 Steals
1.5 Blocks
2.1 Turnovers
213 Postseason Games

Career Accolades:
5x MVP 2015, 2018-20, 2024
10x Defensive Player 2015-2020, 2022-2024, 2026
11x All-UBA First Team
1x Second Team
1x Third Team
12x All-Defense First Team
2x Second Team
3x UBA Champion
3x UBA Finals MVP

I forgot to mention that Collum was a 13 time All-Star

Next up is Power Forward Craig West. West has played all of his 12 seasons with Boston after being picked 1st overall in the 2016 UBA Draft. He is the most dominant offensive big-man that the league has seen in its first 15 years. He has averaged above 30 points per game for 10 straight seasons. The last time he was under 30 a game was his sophomore season where he averaged 28.2 a game. He currently holds the league record for points in a single game with 71. He is average or slightly sub-par in every other facet of his game though. West is 6-9 247. He is now 32 and nearing the end of his prime, but he will retire as the UBA's leading scorer with well over 30,000 points, probably closer to 35,000.

Career Stats:
12 Seasons
919 Games Played
36.8 Minutes Per Game
32.7 Points
6.8 Rebounds
1.1 Blocks
1.9 Turnovers
87 Postseason Games

Career Accolades:
1x MVP
6x All-League 1st Team
2x 2nd Team
2x 3rd Team
9x All-Star
2016 Rookie of the Year

Pat Foster, a Power Forward, is considered by many to be the most durable player in league history. He has missed only one game in his 15 seasons. Where Wayland Collum is a physically imposing brick wall, Foster is a combination of finesse along with his incredible leaping ability. Foster is 6-10 but just 217 pounds. He spent one year on the bench in Utah before moving to the Los Angeles Clippers and breaking out and becoming a superstar.

Career Stats:
1229 Games
33.9 Minutes Per Game
19.4 Points
9.4 Rebounds
1.4 Steals
2.1 Blocks
210 Postseason Games

Career Accolades:
1x MVP
7x All-League 1st Team
5x 2nd Team
2x All-Defense 1st Team
2x 2nd Team
1x Title

Jay Hampton, Point Guard, made his name a the best defensive wing in the UBA, along with his outstanding offense. He helped the Denver Nuggets win 3 titles in his tenure with them. Without the titles he may have only been a perennial all-star, but once you become a three time finals MVP, you are often vaulted into the discussion with the rest of the superstars in the league, especially when you are the best defensive point guard to ever play in the UBA.

Career Stats:
1143 Games Played
32.4 Minutes Per Game
19.2 Points
6.7 Assists
4.8 Rebounds
2.6 Steals
186 Postseason Games

Career Accolades:
2x Defensive Player of the Year
1x All-League 1st Team
4x 2nd Team
10x All-Defense 1st Team
3x UBA Champion
3x Finals MVP
