“UML beat #3 seed, #11 ranked Michigan ST 69-65 in the 1st round of the preseason NIT. 18, 6, 4 for guard Clif Proe, 17 and 5 for SF Kris More. 9 TOs. We never led by more than 8 but we led most of the way.
“It was 74-68 over #6 seed Stanford. 18, 6 for C Ran Minn, 15 each for Proe and Tod Stem.
“77-68 over #22 ranked, #7 seed KY. 20 for Proe, 19 for More, 12 each for Minn and Stem. 10 TOs.
“Then in the final, against #4 ranked, #5 seed Ga we lost 80-81. 5 lead changes in the last 90 seconds. They had the last possession and scored. 21, 2, 7 for guard Tod Stem, 20, 6, 4, 3 for Kris More. All 5 starters in double figures. 18 TOs hurt.
“This week we host 0-1 Iowa and #13 Florida, 2-0.

“This week we host #25 KY, 7-3. We beat them by 9 in the semis of the preseason NIT.
“We’re 10-2, #12, RPI #3. +9.7 PPG, +6.5 RBs, +3.7 TOs and at 12.1, which is very close to Coach’s target of 12.0. We have 4 guys averaging 10 or more PPG”
