March 9

We get a 1st round bye. We will face #8 seed Arizona, 14-15in the quarter final. They beat us by 30 there, in perhaps our worst game of the year. Last week we won by 17 here.

March 10

73-64 over Arizona. 21 for Cicc, 17, 5 for Pakk, 12, 4, 4 for Urui, 9, 11 for Supk.

#4 seed, #23 ranked Arizona ST, 21-7, 10-6, in the semifinal game. We won by 30 here.

March 11

66-47. 18, 4, 3, 2 for Cicc, 12, 12, 3 for Supk, 12, 10, 3, 3 for mola, 12, 5, 3 for Pakk. 40 Rbs.

#6 seed Oregon, 20-10, 9-7, upset their way to the title game, beating the #3, then the #2 seeds. We beat then by only 3 here.

March 12

63-50 and our first Pac 12 title! 18, 7, 3 for Pakk, 12, 14 for Supk, 10, 4, 3 for Cicc. 37 and 11.

Going to the selection show we’re 23-7, 12-4, #12, RPI #7. +6.7 PPG, +8.0 RBPG, +1.2 TOPG. #1 in RBs in the nation, and Supk is #1 individual rebounder.

#3 Midwest. We face #14 UMass Lowell, 21-9. I expected a #2 or a #3, so no surprise.

March 16

81-76. WAY too close. We didn’t shoot well and we definitely didn’t defend well. We had enough talent to survive but we need to play better. 16 for Cicc, 15 each for Pakk and Urui.

Miami (FL), 20-10, is next. We won in OY against them in the 2nd game of the season.

March 18

82-61. Much better than our last game! 23, 5, 4 for Urui, 15, 12, 4, 2 for Mola, 17, 5, 3 for Cicc, 11,4 for Pakk, 8, 10 for Supk. 41 and 13.

#7 seed, #18 ranked Gonzaga, 24-8, upset #2 Pitt. We beat them by 17 in November, a long time ago.

March 23

59-77. We were up 7 at the half, our biggest lead. We gave up 53 points in the 2nd half. It was like we never came out of the locker. No explanation for it. 20 TOs, -1 RB.

The good news is that we are losing no one who gets playing time.

Early exit for the Pac 12. We were the last team playing in any of the tournaments.

April 4

#1 Kentucky won it all, 87-73 over #4 Louisville.

Awards: Slod Cicc and Ivic Supk make Pac 12 1st team. I am COY. First time in the Pac 12.

April 23

We ask for a facilities upgrade since we did not get it last year. We got it, moving from B to A-.

25-8, Pac 12 regular season and tournament champions, Sweet Sixteen. Overall: 238-87, .732, Off- 63, Def- 85, Recruit- 80, Scout- 65, Player Dev- 78, Reputation- 57.

Can we challenge for the national title next season?

May 1

Preseason #18.

We buy the Basic International report.

June 5

Nobody

June 26

4 scholarships.

August 7

4 on the Norton list: Slod Cicc is #7, Ata Urui #35, Rob Roy #44, Ivic Supk #45.

August 21

We offer to a PG, 2 SGs, and a PF.

September 18

We get the 2 SGs.

I am shocked that again this year we are not invited to an in season tournament. Tough schedule.

September 25

We get the PF.

October 2

We get the PG.

First day of practice. We’re good and we’re deep.

We’re picked 2nd in the Pac 12 behind Arizona.

November 6

Here’s the lineup: Sophomore Slod Cicc returns as our main guard with soph Ata Urui and junior Paul Pakk getting major minutes. Senior Cole Hust will get the remainder of the guard minutes. Zels Babk is waiting in the wings. Junior Tran Mola moves from PF to SF with Pakk in support. Mola will back up senior Ivic Supk and frosh Svat Pryb, who has looked terrific. Senior Rob Roy and junior Toma Apel are waiting for minutes. We decided to red shirt soph Haro Robt, who tore his ACL last season.

The May 1 poll had us at #18. The late October poll had us at #9.

November 20

45-33 over Alabama here. Very strange game. We had 17 TOs, they had 31! That gave us 15 more shots, which allowed us to win while shooting 26.4%; they shot 31.6%. The only double figure scorer on either team was Cicc, who had 17.

90-58 over Memphis here. 17, 5, 8 for Cole Hust from the bench. He had a hot hand so we kept him in. Two other subs were also hot, Pakk had 12, as did Apel. 14, 5, 3, 3 for Mola, 13, 6 for Pryb. +10 RBs, +6 TOs.

The PG recruit didn’t sign so we need to court some PGs of which there are almost none in the pool.

November 27

81-55 over #3 Charlotte here. 26, 6, 4 for Cicc, 14, 13, 4 for Supk. +17 RBs.

84-63 over Kansas ST here. 26, 3, 2 for Paul Pakk from the bench, 19, 4 for Cicc, 15, 6, 4 for Supk. +9 RBs, 9 TOs.

#10, RPI #5.

December 4

57-60 at Illinois. We didn’t shoot well, 31.4%, and we didn’t get out on the three; they made 11-24. 12, 10 for Supk.

80-36 over Georgia Tech here. 21, 8, 3 for Pakk, 15, 12, 3 for Supk. 41 RBs, 5 TOs.

December 11

81-83 at #11 Seton Hall. Back and forth all night long. They had the last possession and they scored on it for the win. 23, 4, 4, 2 for Pakk who will now start. 17 for Cicc, 13, 9, 5 for Supk.

61-41 at Georgetown. 14, 10 for Supk, 15 for Pakk, 12, 6 for Pryb.

December 18

72-60 at Brigham Young. 18, 10, 2, 2 for Supk, 18, 7, 5, 4 for Cicc, 13, 6, 4 for Pakk. But 26 TOs.

75-64 over #22 Ohio ST here. All 5 starters in double figures. 14, 13 for Supk. 9 TOs.

December 25

64-63 over #15 Florida here. 6 guys between 8 and 13. 12, 10 for Mola.

9-2 for pre-conference play. #15, RPI #9. +15.8 PPG, +6.9 RBPG, +4.6 TOPG.

January 1, 2031

85-79 at USC. 22 each for Cicc and Urui, 16 RBs for Supk. 37 and 12.

Rob Roy is an excellent player who has been nothing but trouble all season long. I booted him from the team today. He is a senior and he will keep his scholarship but I don’t want him around.

January 8

61-44 over Washington here. 20, 5, 3, 2 for Pakk, 12, 10, 4, 3 for Pryb, 10, 8 for Supk, 9, 8 for Mola. 40 RBs.

82-76 in OT at #5 UCLA. A big win! 25, 3, 7, 2 for Cicc, 19, 15 for Supk, 8, 14, 3 for Pryb. +5 RBs.

January 15

75-54 at Washington ST. 22, 5, 3 for Cicc, 16, 3, 3 for Urui, 13, 8, 2, 2 for Pryb.

66-58 over #12 Arizona here. 26, 9 for Cicc, 10, 9 for Mola, 11 for Urui. 37 and 9.

We’re 14-2, 5-0, #10, RPI #3.

January 22

73-58 at 12-4 Arizona ST. 19, 4 for Pakk, 14, 13 for Supk, 10, 7 for Pryb, 11 each for Cicc and Urui. 40 RBs.

84-56 over California here. 26, 9, 3 for Cicc, who has been playing really well. 14, 3 for Mola. 35 and 5. We seem to have come together, winning 11. 16-2, 7-0,

#8, RPI #1. We have a 2 game lead in the Pac 12.

January 29

55-43 over Colorado here. 15 RBs for Supk. 33 and 11.

3 game lead.

46-55 at Oregon, our 1st conference loss. We shot 27.6%.

Cicc is #16, Supk #20 on the Norton list.

As expected the PG we wanted did not hit our SAT score. Neither did the PG we had in reserve. Since there are no other decent PGs in the pool we offer to a PF.

February 5

45-64 at Oregon ST. We shot 23.3%. Terrible shooting has led to back to back losses. You can’t win if you don’t score. It is difficult to fix poor shooting. The only thing we can do is work on getting better shots, either more open shots, or more shots closer to the basket. 4-30 on threes tonight.

Only 1 up on Stanford, who we play next, and UCLA.

71-51 over Stanford. Much better! 10, 12 for Supk, 14 RBs for Pryb, and we shot 41.8%. 45 RBs.

February 12

83-50 over USC. 23, 6, 3 for Cicc, 21, 5, 2, 2 for Urui, 16, 6, 4, 5 for Pryb, 12, 6 for Mola. 34 and 6.

55-38 at Washington. Balanced scoring from all 9 guys we played. 42 RBs.

Slod Cicc is #15 on the Norton list.

Big game next; #10 UCLA is here.

February 19

69-70 to #10 UCLA here. 22, 8 for Cicc, 19, 5, 4 for Pakk. They won it on a last second three. Poor defense and bench play did it.

Tough loss.

With 2 to play we are tied with Arizona in 1st (We play them there to end the regular season), and UCLA and Oregon are 1 back.

70-34 over Washington ST. 21, 21, 2, 2 for Supk, a huge game. 47 and 8.

Arizona beat UCLA so we are tied with Arizona, 1 up on Oregon, with 1 to play, at #13 Arizona, 22-5, 12-3. We’re 21-5, 12-3.

February 26

70-82at #13 Arizona. We let them shoot 52.8%.

We finish alone in 2nd, but we should have been first.

For the 3rd season in a row we have faded late. 1-2 in our last 3, 4-4 in our last 8.

March 9

#7 seed USC won their play in game. We beat them by 6 there, 33 here.

21-6, 12-4, 2nd place, #15, RPI #6, +13.0 PPG, +7.2 RBPG, +4.9 TOPG. Time for a comeback!

March 10

78-64 over USC. 31, 6, 2, 4 for Cicc. A season low 18 RBs (-10), but +17 TOs.

We play 21-8 Oregon in the semifinals. They won by 9 there.

March 11

69-53 over Oregon. 27 for Cicc, 12 for Urui, 11 for Pakk, 14 RBs for Supk, 11 for Mola. +13 RBs.

#8 Arizona, 25-5, for the title. We won by 8 at home, lost by 12 last week there. This one is in Eugene, neutral court.

March 12

73-62 and the title! The lead went back and forth early but with about 7 minutes left in the 1st half we went on a 10-2 run and never trailed again. 40, 6 for Cicc, who had a terrific tourney (and was MOP), 11, 14, 2 for Supk. 39 and 13.

We’re hoping for a #1 or a #2 seed.

#3 in the East. Outrageous! Only a #3 and in the toughest bracket. We play #14 New Orleans, 20-10. When is the last time a Pac 12 winner was not a #1 or a #2!

March 16

65-35. Balanced scoring, 42 and 12.

We face #11 seed Western KY, 22-9, an upset winner, next. This team has given us trouble in recent seasons.

March 18

85-61. 5 in double figures. 41 and 9. It was never a game.

Back in the Sweet Sixteen against #2 seed, #5 ranked Wake Forest, 27-4. Tough match up. Their first big man off the bench tore his MCL.

March 23

70-73. +13 RBs, we took 10 more shots than they did, 1 fewer TO. We shot poorly, but this is a game that was there. We just didn’t execute at the critical moments. 9, 21, 2 for Supk in his last game. We lose him, as well as Cole Hust.

I had hoped for more this season. Disappointing.

April 4

#8 Kansas beat #1 Kentucky, 74-69 for the title.

Awards: Siod Cicc is Pac 12 POY and 1st team. Paul Pakk and Ivic Supk make the 2nd team.

April 23

We ask for a budget increase. $14, 500.

26-7, #14, RPI #4. Overall: 264-94, .737,Off- 67, Def- 85, Recruit- 80, Scout- 65, Player Dev- 80, Reputation- 62.

For the 3rd season in a row we go out in the Sweet Sixteen. Next season?

May 1

Gold International

June 5

None

June 26

5 scholarships.

August 7

Slod Cicc is #3 on the Norton list and Ata Urui is #33.

August 21

We offer to 2 PGs, an SG, an SF, a PF.

September 18

We’re going to the Coaches Classic; first opponent is Ball ST. 14 ranked opponents plus any we meet in the Classic.

September 25

We get 3: PG Stah Wize, #32, PG Uno Haar, #41, and PF Enzo Rosa, #54.

October 2

Clean sweep, we get SG Milo Stoj, #26, and SF Dar Susk, #39.

First day of practice. We hope to challenge for the national title this year.

But we’re only picked #2 in conference again, behind Arizona.

November 6

Some surprises in the lineup: Junior Slod Cicc is no surprise at guard. Junior Ata Urui. Seniors Paul Pakk and Zels Babk, and frosh Ales Sann will also play at guard. Pakk will start at SF. Backing him will be Cicc and senior Toma Apel. Starting inside will be senior Tran Mola, and the big surprise, red shirt frosh Cria Demu. In support will be Apel and soph Svat Pryb, who started last year. Red shirt soph Haro Robt is also available but he, at least so far, has never really come back from the torn ACL. We have a lot of talent!

We were ranked #15 in May, then #7 in late October.

November 14

80-52 over Ball ST in the first round of the Coaches Classic. 29, 8, 2, 3 for Cicc. 13, 9, 2, 2, 2 for Crai Demu in his debut, 12, 7, 6 for Urui. 40 RBs.

#1 seed, #6 ranked North Carolina is next.

November 15

55-59 to #6 North Carolina. We came back from down 13 with a three by Cicc with 33 seconds left. They answers to go up 2, we missed, had to foul, they made both, and that was it.

12, 5 for Cicc, 9, 10 for Demu, 14 for Pakk. The two teams were very evenly matched; we just dug too deep a hole. I wouldn’t mind playing them again in late March or early April!

November 20

49-64 at Auburn. We shot 25%. Tran Mola had the best shooting % for the night, 36.4%; no one else above 30%. Can’t win when you don’t make shots.

November 27

81-76 at Ohio ST. We shot 54% tonight. I have no explanation. All 5 starters in double figures and three subs played well. It was not an easy game but we stayed tough and determined.

One of our recruits didn’t sign, Milo Stoj, #28, SG. The highest rated of the five, of course.

Apel is out; he has done nothing. Pryb is getting all of his inside minutes and Sann is getting his minutes at SF.

December 4

82-69 at #19 Seton Hall. 23, 4 for Cicc, 16, 11 for Pryb, 10, 10 for Demu, 12, 8, 6, 3 for Urui. 45 and 10.

79-73 at UNLV. 21, 6, 3 for Cicc, 18, 3, 5 for Pakk, 15, 9, 3 for Mola.

Back in the Top 25 at #19.

December 11

78-57 at Cincinnati. 30, 3, 5, 5 for Cicc, 19for #e guard Ales Sann. 38 and 13.

5-2. Considering 5 of the 7 were away and the other two were on neutral courts, not bad! Home debut coming up next; the next 4 are all at home, three against ranked teams.

83-61 over #9 Michigan ST here. 24, 6, 3, 2, 3 for Cicc, 19, 7, 4 for Pakk, 16, 5 for Mola, 11, 6 for Demu. 34 and 8.

In our 6 wins we have scored between 78 and 83. In our 2 losses it was 55 and 49.

We are playing our three inside guys, Mola, Demu, and Pryb, about equal amounts of time. It keeps them fresh and I think it helps. We are 4-0 since we began doing this.

December 18

74-66 over Brigham Young here. They stayed with us. 25, 6, 2, 3 for Cicc, who has been terrific. 39 and 10.

82-51 here against Florida. 6 players with between 9 and 17. 37 and 9. It was never close.

#10, RPI #1.

December 25

84-56 over #13 Maryland here. 24, 3, 3 for Cicc, 11, 16, 2 for Mola, 17, 2, 6, 2 for Pakk, 10, 10, 2, 2for Demu, 16 for Pryb. 44 and 5.

73-65 at 6-3 Gonzaga. 25, 3, 3, 2 for Pakk, who was 8-10 on threes! 14, 5 for Cicc.

10-2 at the end of pre-conference play. With 6 on the road and 2 on neutral courts that is outstanding!

#8, RPI #1. +12.6 PPG, +5.5 RBPG, +3.4 TOPG. Slod Cicc is #2 on the Norton list.
