November 20

70-49 over FL ST here. 14, 18 for Supk, 11, 9, 2, 2, 2 for Tran Mola at PF, 12, 8, 3, 2 for Cony,12 for Hust, 66, 10, 2 for Hart. 7 TOS and an amazing 52 rebounds.

Jim Kacy tweaked his knee. Day to day. I hope this isn’t the start of the kind of injury string we had last season.

62-61 over Western Kentucky here. 28, 9 for Supk, 17 for Cony, 6, 9, 3, 3 for Mola. 10 TOs, 35 RBs. We won when Supk blocked a last second 8 footer by their SF. He just saw the shot coming, came out, and blocked it.

All 4 recruits sign!

Ranked! #16.

November 27

58-72 at Syracuse. They doubled Supk and shut him down, 3 and 6. 15 for Kacy, 10, 7 for Mola. Foul trouble for both of our starting guards. They were the better team.

87-72 over Georgia Tech here. Supk had another awful game. He fouled out in 8 minutes and had 2 and 1. Sub guard/forward Paul Pakk had 18, and will get more time; he will start at SF. 14 and 11 for Mola but he too fouled out. 14, 3, 5, 4 for Cony, who had 4 fouls. The officials actually called two more fouls on Ga Tech than on us.

December 4

71-69 at Oklahoma. 11, 16 for Supk; hopefully he’s back. 16, 2, 5 for Cony, 12, 10 for Mola, 12 for Kacy.

We’re playing some of the top teams in the country and we’re doing pretty well.

73-54 over Missouri here. 24, 3 for Kacy, 21, 10, 2, 2 for Supk.

December 11

83-75 over Florida here. 21, 3, 3, 2 for Cony, 12, 9 for Mola, 12 for Hust. Both starting guards fouled out and our #3 guard, Hust had 4. But Paul Pakk and Zels Babk filled in well. We are much deeper this year.

We’re 6-1 as we head for the Sunshine Shootout where we’re the #2 seed. We play 3-3 Nevada to start.

80-59 over Nevada. 20, 6, 3 for Kacy, 15, 8, 2, 2 for Supk, 12, 7, 2, 3 for Mola, 10 for Hust. 11 TOs, 29 RBs.

It’s #3 seed Penn ST, 7-1 in the semifinal game.

71-36 over Penn ST. 16, 3, 5 for Cony, 15, 3, 5 for Kacy, 12, 4 for Hust, as the guards have a field day. 12, 9 for Pakk in his best game as a starter. 12 TOs, 40 Rbs.

It’s #4 seed St. Joe’s, 7-1, for the title.

December 12

90-59 over St. Joe’s for the Sunshine Shootout title. 18, 11 for Supk, 17, 8 for Mola, 17, 2, 2 for Kacy, and four others had big games. 11 TOs, 33 RBs.

December 18

61-71 at Brigham Young. Outside defense and sloppy ball handling. 13, 13, 2 for Supk, 12, 8 for Mola, 10 each for Hust and Pakk.

This ends a 7 game winning streak.

80-61 at Penn ST. 13, 9 for Supk, 17, 4, 3 for Hust, 15, 2, 2, 2 for Cony. 11 TOs, 33 RBs.

Only one game in the next two weeks as we approach break.

December 25

67-66 in OT at Seattle. Whew! They wouldn’t go away. It took a 17 footer by Pakk at the end of regulation to send it to overtime, and then a 20 footer by Hust at the end of OT for the win. We were lucky. 16, 9 for Supk, 12 for Cony before he fouled out in the final minute of regulation, 11, 4 for Pakk, and 10 for Hust.

We end pre-conference play 11-2, Ranked #13, RPI #3. +11.5 PPG, ++6.5 RBPG, +2.3 TOPG.

We’re going to give Hust some of Kacy’s minutes.

January 1, 2029

85-71 at USC. 22, 6for Su[k, 18, 4, 6 for Cony, all 5 starters in doubles. 11 TOs.

January 8

67-54 over Washington here. 19 for Pakk, 16, 7, 4, 2 for Supk, 13, 4, 3, 6 for Mola. 12 and 29.

At #3 UCLA next. That will be a challenge.

43-58. 14, 11, 2 for Supk, 10, 9 for Cony, but no one else did much of anything. Mola fouled out in 22 minutes and Supk had 4.

15 point less than we’ve scored in any other game this season.

Two injuries, Babk hurt his hip. He’s out for about 4 days. Ed Cone hurt his hand. He’s day to day.

January 15

67-52 at Washington ST.18, 8 for Pakk, 17, 3, 3 for Cony, 11, 7, 2 for Supk. 34 RBs.

65-57 over Arizona here. 18, 6, 3 for Cony who is having a very good senior year. 10, 8 for Supk, 10, 5, 4 for Hust.

January 22

61-77 at #24 Arizona ST. Mola fouled out, both of our starting guards had 4. 13, 15 for Supk, 12, 7, 2 for Mola. Not our best effort.

We’re in a 4 way tie for 2nd, one back of Oregon, but it’s early. 15-4, 4-2.

74-46 over California here. 27, 16 for Supk, his best game ever. 14, 9 for Pakk. 13 and 44.

We are now alone in 2nd place.

January 29

65-57 over Colorado. 18 for Mola. Strange game, foul trouble again, production from lots of guys.

1st place Oregon next, there.

50-68 at Oregon. They denied the ball inside and it worked. We shot 33.3% to their 51.9%. I expected better.

Supk is #9 on the Norton list.

As expected, everyone hit our SAT score.

February 5

68-67 at Oregon ST. We were down 14 early in the 2nd half before we finally woke up. They missed an open 12 footer at the end. 16, 6 for Supk, 14, 4 for Pakk, 12, 5, 3 for Cony. Mola has been off his game lately. We need him to bounce back.

73-68 in OT over Stanford here. It was close all the way. Pakk hit a three with 3.4 left to take it to OT. 18 for Pakk, 14, 16, 2, 2 for Supk, 15, 2, 3 for Hust, 8, 9 for Mola, 8 assists for Cony. 7 and 39.

February 12

69-57 over USC here. 18, 10, 5 for Supk, 16, 5, 2, 3 for Pakk. 10 and 35.

55-70 at Washington. 12 each for Mola and Kacy but they denied Supk very effectively.

That loss hurts. We were tied for 2nd but with our remaining schedule this loss could mean we finish 4th.

Supk is #10 on the Norton list.

We’re a year away. We have 4 recruits coming in, listed at #16, 35, 44, and 83.

#5 UCLA is here next. We didn’t play well there but we think we can beat them here. It would be a very big win.

February 19

61-74. Nope. 14 each for Supk and Hust12 for Pakk, and no one else had more than 4. -17 RBs. 26 fouls called on us, 12 on them. They won by 15 there, 13 here.

We are now tied for 4th, in danger of dropping to 5th since we close at Arizona, the team we’re tied with.

We need to win our last 2.

64-54 over Washington ST. 22, 10 for Supk, 12, 2, 4 for Pakk. We won this with defense, making key stops whenever they threatened to get really close.

There is a log jam in the standings. We’re in a 3 way tie for 3rd, one back of UCLA in 2nd, 1 ahead of two teams in 6th. This road game at 17-11 Arizona is huge.

21-7, 10-5, #13, RPI #11.

February 26

83-87. Foul trouble did us in again, 4 each for Supk, Mola and Kacy. 18, 8 for Mola. They won it at the end, when it was difficult for us to play defense because of foul problems.

#5 seed in the tournament.

March 5

We play last place Washington ST in the play in game. We won by 15 there, 10 here.

March 9

59-56. Too close! 16, 9 for Supk, 14 for Cony. We were down 12 with 7:23 to play. We won it on a three by Hust with 2.8 left.

#7 UCLA, the #4 seed is next. They have beaten us badly twice.

March 10

59-68. 19, 4, 2 for Pakk, 6, 12, 3 for Supk, 11, 4, 4 for Cony. We can’t seem to beat this team.

Now we wait.

March 12

UCLA won the tourney.

We’re 22-9, #19, RPI #11, but we did not finish strong, which could hurt us.

#4 in the South. We’ll play #13 Mississippi Valley ST, 22-7.

March 17

76-60. Real balance, 6 players had between 9 and 14 points. 12 and 39.

Oregon finished 1st in the Pac 12 and they are out in round one.

We play #5 seed, #24 ranked Florida, 21-8 next. We beat them by 8 in early December.

March 19

75-67. 20, 8 for Mola, 14, 2, 3, 2 for Pakk, 18, 5, 2, 2 for Cony, 7, 9 for Supk. 10 and 33. It was close for 33 minutes. We then went on a 12-0 run.

UCLA and Arizona both lost.

#1 seed, #2 ranked, #2 RPI Kansas, 34-1, in the Sweet Sixteen.

March 24

66-78. 14, 9, 2 for Supk, 16, 4 for Mola, 13, 6, 7 for Cony, 8, 7, 2 for Pakk.

Last game for Cony, Kacy, and Jeff Hart.

April 4

I went to the Final Four again this year.

Stanford won the NIT.

Once again we lost to the champs. Kansas beat unranked Pitt in the final, 100-63.

Awards: Ivic Supk made Pac 12 1st team. Ed Cony made 2nd. I thought Mola should also have made 2nd.

April 23

We ask for a facilities upgrade. No luck.

24-10, 10-6. Sweet Sixteen.

213-79, .729. Off- 59, Def- 85, Recruit- 80, Scout- 65, Player Dev- 73, Reputation- 53.

Looking forward to a great season.

May 1

We decide to buy the Gold International scouting report.

June 5

No transfers of interest.

June 26

We finally have an all foreign team this year.

3 scholarships to fill.

August 7

Slod Cicc is #9 on the Norton list. Supk is not on the list, surprisingly.

August 21

We offer to 2 bigs and a PG.

September 18

PG Aini Adro, #151, commits, as does Cian Demu, C, #14.

No in season tournament this year but the schedule is loaded. 13 ranked teams.

September 25

Svat Prby, C, #45, commits.

October 2

I love what I saw at today’s first practice.

We are picked 3rd in the Pac 12.

November 6

Here’s the lineup. Frosh Slod Cicc looks terrific and he’s our #1 guard, playing both guard positions. Soph Paul Pakk will play mostly SG, but some PG and some SF. Junior Cole Hust will play some at both guard spots. Soph Zels Babk will play some PG. It will take time to sort out the guard spots. Frosh Ata Urui will start at SF. Junior Ivic Supk and soph Tran Mola return inside, backed by frosh Haro Robt whose time could increase. He has looked very good. Junior Rob Roy and soph
Toma Apel also look good but I can’t find any time for them at this point. We look very good and very deep.

November 20

65-49 at #14 Wake Forest. 22, 4, 3 for Cicc, 11, 9, 2 for Urui, 11 for Pakk, 6, 14, 2 for Supk, 10 RBs for Mola. 45 RBs (+18), 13 TOs. We did our scoring outside, and controlled the inside play. A good start.

84-75 in OT over Miami (FL) here. We were down 13 with 7:22 to play, worked to get it closer and closer, tied it with a 3 by Slod Cicc at the end of regulation and then completely controlled the OT. It wasn’t easy. 19, 6, 2, 3 for Cicc, 14, 9, 3, 2 for Pakk, 12, 7, 6, 3 for Urui, 9, 14,2 for Supk, 10, 6 for Mola. 49 RBs (+17).

All 3 recruits sign. If they all hit our SAT score we’re through with recruiting.

#18.

November 27

80-77 in OT over Ohio ST here. We almost blew an 11 point lead when they hit a 25 foot 3 at the end of regulation. Cicc fouled out in the first minute of OT, and we went down by 5 when the free throws were made. Zels Babk did a great job filling in at guard and we came back for the win when Ata Urui hit a 3 with 2.2 left in OT. 17, 9, 5 for Urui, 12, 6, 2 for Pakk, 10 and 10 for Mola, 11 for Babk. 53 RBs (+20). Cicc was saddled with foul trouble and had his first poor game, 5 and 5. We haven’t really come together yet, despite the 3-0 record. Rebounding is saving us, +18.3 per game.

92-75 over Gonzaga here. 25, 5, 8 for Urui, 21, 5, 2 for Cicc, 20 for Pakk. 10 TOs, +8 RBs.

#12.

December 4

68-81 at Western KY. 22, 10, 3 for Pakk. 42 RBs but 18 TOs. Cicc was ineffective again.

59-57 over #7 Georgetown here. 8 scorers but none had more than 12. We were out rebounded for the first time. Cicc fouled out again. I’m not sure how we won this, except to say that we showed determination. Sub Zels Babk hit an 18 footer with 1.1 left for the win. On the up side we have won all three of the close games we’ve played. We came back from down 11 in the 2nd half.

Hust broke his arm. Out for about 5-6 weeks. Babk will get most of his minutes.

December 11

55-78 at #22 FL ST. We shot 28.3%, let them shoot 50.9%. 21 for Cicc, 8, 6, 5 for Urui, but no one else did much.

Strategy change: We’re going to Favor Inside. Our shooting % is way too low.

70-52 over #17 Illinois. 19, 12, 3, 3 for Mola, who was unstoppable. 16, 4, 2, 2 for Cicc, 10, 9, 2 for Supk, 11, 3, 3 for Urui. 10 and 36. It’s only one game but going inside more worked tonight. We shot 41.2%, better than we’ve been doing.

We’re 6-2, #16, RPI #6.

December 18

75-68 over Brigham Young here. 19 for Cicc, 18 for sub forward/center Haro Robt who filled in for Supk who was in foul trouble all night. +10 TOs, but -7 RBs. This team simply has not jelled. We’re winning but not really playing as solidly as we’d like.

Two tough home games this week end pre-conference play.

December 25

71-74 to Florida here. They shot 50% and were +9 on TOs. 14, 7 for Supk, 14, 3, 3 for Pakk, 13, 3, 2 for Cicc. Good bench play. But the defense and ball handling did us in.

77-60 over #25 St. John’s here. 14 and 16 for Supk, and the rest of our starters all had between 9 and 15. +15 RBs, +8 TOs. Good bench play. We played very well tonight. Hopefully we are starting to come together but it’s taking a long time. I should point out that 5 of our 11 opponents were ranked.

8-3, #22, RPI #9, for the pre-conference season. +4.6 PPG, +8.6 RBPG, -0.2 TOPG, and again, against strong competition.

January 1, 2030

66-60 over USC here. We shot 30.8%, 1-8 on threes. We won it at the line, 25-36 vs. 11-15. Supk had 25, 15, Mola 8, 11, 2, 2.

Again, a win, but we didn’t play all that well.

January 8

88-85 in OT at Washington. Our 3rd overtime game and 3rd overtime win of the season. 26 for Cicc, but he fouled out again. 14, 5, 7 for Urui.

13, 5 for Haro Robt, but he tore an ACL- badly. He’s out for the season, maybe for part of next season. Rob Roy and Toma Apel will split his minutes for now.

Hust is back.

55-38 over UCLA. 13, 15, 2 for Supk, 12, 6, 2, 2, 2 for Cicc, 8, 7, 5 for Urui, 14, 2 for Pakk, Mola had 13 RBs. 47 RBs but 21 TOs.
Aside from TOs we played very well. The D was terrific.

The injury bug has hit again, HARD. Mola twisted his ankle and is out about two weeks, and Roy strained a hamstring and is out 10-12 days. We now have exactly 2 inside players. Cicc is very versatile and he will fill in at PF.

January 15

72-53 over Washington ST here. Our patchwork quilt of a team played well. 19, 5 for Cicc, 18, 3 for Pakk, 10, 11, 2 for Supk, 12, 3, 6, 2 for Urui. 30 and 10.

53-83 at Arizona. We shot 34%, they shot 55.6%. 25, 5 for Cicc, 11 for Pakk, 10 RBs for Supk, but we simply did play D, especially outside where they went 15-28 on threes. Roy may be back for our next game, which would help.

January 22

74-44 over #11 Arizona ST here. Wow! 19, 4, 2 for Urui, 12, 12 for Supk, 14, 2, 3 for Cicc, 10, 7 for Apel. 38 and 8.

Roy will start at PF for Apel, and Mola can play a few minutes here and there.

66-62 in OT at California! 4-4 in OT this season. 24, 7, 3, 2 for Cicc,11, 12 for Supk, 10, 7, 3 for Urui, 6, 14, 4, 3 for Roy. 52 RBs!

We lead the nation in RBs, by almost 2 per game.

Mola is back. So now everyone is back except for Robt, who is gone for the year. We only lost one game while Hust, Mola, and Roy were gone.

#15, RPI #7.

January 29

69-51 at Colorado. 16, 4, 2 for Cicc, 13, 8 for Mola in his 1st start since the injury, 7, 15, 2 for Supk, 11, 5, 7, 2 for Urui, 9, 3, 4,
3 for Pakk. 40 RBs.

We’re alone in 1st in the Pac 12, one ahead of Stanford, at the halfway point in conference play.

58-55 over Oregon here. Excellent play by all 5 starters, especially on D. +9 RBs. We are 6-1 in games decided by 3 or less, and OT games. That is the sign of a good team!

#12, RPI #7.

All three recruits hit our SAT score. Slod Cicc is #14 on the Norton list.

February 5

81-55 over Oregon St here. 27, 5, 2 for Pakk, 13, 6 for Cicc, 7, 12, 3, 4 for Mola, 9, 7 for Supk, 9, 3, 6, 2 for Urui. Good bench play. 38 and 8.

We now have a 2 game lead in the Pac 12 as we go to 2nd place Stanford.

67-77 at #17 Stanford. Cicc fouled out in 17 minutes and Supk in 19. 17, 9, 5 for Urui, 9, 8 for Mola.

Still one game ahead, with 5 to play.

February 12

51-65 at USC. 2-17 on threes, 34.6% overall. 23 TOs. We were pretty awful tonight.

77-61 over Washington here. 21, 8 for Mola, 21, 4, 3 for Cicc, 7, 12, 3 for Supk. 34 and 8.

Alone in 1st place again but it’s volatile, and 2 of our last 3 are on the road.

Slod Cicc is #15 on the Norton list.

February 19

66-76 at UCLA. Their bench had 32, 7, 9 and ours had 12, 8, 5.

We’re still alone in 1st place. Three teams one back.

60-43 at Washington ST. Great D, and +9 TOs. All 5 starters had between 10 and 12. 13 RBs for Supk.

One game up with one to play.

February 26

67-50 over Arizona here. 19, 5, 3, 3 for Cicc, 15, 11, 4, 4 for Supk, 12, 5 for Pakk. 34 RBs.

We finish 1 upon Stanford, 2 or more on the rest.
