Mister Inside
This dynasty is one of a pair. The other is “Mister Outside.” I want to see how a team does when the strategy is set to Heavy Inside. In recruiting I will focus on SCR and inside shooting first, then RB, then D (I won’t take anyone with “F” for D, and will try to avoid “D”), then passing/BH,.

Both dynasties will have the same set up EXCEPT for Outside vs. Inside game strategies.

I will start with Skill set ratings for the head coach totaling 200 points (amateur), but Off- 50, Def- 30, Scout- 60, Recruit and Player Dev- 30. Scouting progresses very slowly. Max. levels will be Off-90, 75 for each of the others.

I will start at San Jose ST, Mountain West, Prestige 30, Facilities C+, Academics C- at both schools. I will stay at the school throughout the dynasty (5-10 years).

Mr. Inside will use the Princeton and Triangle offenses. On D it will be about 25% man, and the rest split about equally between 2-3- and 3-2.

I will sim the games, stopping every two weeks, or when there are injuries, to make lineup adjustments.

There will be no “back story.”

5/1/’15: We hire coaches, trim the roster, buy the Gold West regions scouting report and the Basic national and international.

6/26: 5 scholarships. Looking at 20.

8/21: We offer to a PG, an SG, 2 PFs, a C.

9/18: We have a schedule.

9/25: We get a C and lose 2.

10/2: Got a PF.

1st day of practice.

We’re picked last in conf. A. D. wants top ½. Above .500, improve prestige.

10/9: Got a PG.

10/23: Got a PF. One more to fill.

11/6: We have a lineup.

(Note: As it worked out Outside has a MUCH stronger team than Inside does. Just the way the computer set the teams up.)

12/11: 1-7. I knew this was not a good team. There really isn’t much more I can do.

12/25: 1-10, RPI #318 at the end of pre-conference play. -14.9 PPG, -0.1 RBPG, -6.6 TOPG, -6.1 assists PG, -5.3 steals PG.

1/8/2016: 2-12, 1-2. A couple of lineup changes.

1/22: 4-14, 3-4, RPI #305. Progress! In a 4 way tie for 5th.

1/29: 4-15, 3-5, RPI #310. 3 way tie for 6th.

3 of our 4 signed recruits hit our SAT score.

2/12: 6-17, 5-7, RPI #297. 2 way tie for 6th.

2/26: 7-20, 6-10. RPI #300. 2 way tie for 9th.

3/6: Ha! We won the play in game!

3/7: We lost in the round of 8.

3/12: Not selected. Season is finished. 8-21, 6-10.

4/4: #8 Duke beat #11 Memphis for the national title.

Awards: We had a senior on the conf. 1st team.

4/16: We got a PG.

4/23: We filled the last scholarship with a C.

We ask for a budget increase. Nope.

So, 8-21, 6-10, RPI #279. Lost 4 Team Prestige points. Numbers: Off- 54, Def- 34, Recruit- 41, Scout- 61, Player Dev- 34, Reputation- 20.

Good recruiting class. We’ll be better next year.

11/27: 2-2. Much better than last year. We make a couple of lineup tweaks. Still recruiting.

12/11: 4-4.

12/25: 5-6. Considering 10 of the 11 pre-conf. games were on the road, I’m pleased.

-4.3 PPG (53.2 PPG for us- whew!), +0.1 RBPG, -3.8 TOPG, -2.0 assists PG, -2.9 steals PG. RPI #76. All in all we’re lucky to have the record we have!

1/8/’17: 7-7, 2-1. Another little tweak.

1/22: 9-9, 4-3. PRI #82.

1/29: 10-10, 5-4. RPI #85. I think our final RPI was 290 last season. We’re alone in 4th place.

Our only signed recruit hit our SAT score- exactly!

And… we’re in the Bracket Breaker- Pepperdine, here.

2/12: 12-12, 7-6. RPI #92. 5th place, ½ game back of 4th, 1 ½ up on 6th.

2/26: 14-14, 9-7. 4th place. RPI #116. -2.4 PPG, +1.4 RBPG, -3.2 TOPG, -2.5 assists PG, and -3.9 steals PG.

We play #5 seed UNLV in the round of 8.

3/7: 63-60 over UNLV. #1 seed Boise ST in the semis. They won by 7 here then we won by 14 there.

3/8: 74-57 and we’re in the title game! #3 seed New Mexico. We beat them by 3, then by 7, but they’re tough.

3/9: 44-62.

3/12: 16-15, 9-7, RPI #118, made it to the title games. I think we have a shot.

We’re in! #7 South in the NIT. We play #2 seed Purdue, 16-13.

3/14: 67-60 over Purdue! #3 seed East Carolina, 23-8, next.

3/16: 51-66.

We end the season at 17-16, 9-7, RPI #118, which means we met our season’s goals.

3/26: We get three recruits, an SF, and 2 PGs. 2 to go!

4/1: We get a C. One to go!

4/4: #8 UCLA beat #4 Indiana for the title.

Awards: Our PG is Frosh OY and 1st team with a senior C.

4/16: We get the last recruit.

4/23: We ask for a budget increase. $7,800 increase.

MUCH better season in every way. 25-37, .403. Off- 58, Def- 38, Recruit- 58, Scout- 62, Player Dev- 38, Reputation- 23.

Year 3 coming up. That begins stats keeping for Inside vs. Outside- takes this long to get a whole new team. Again, 25-37, .403 at the starting point.

3/7: Last place Colorado ST, 6-22, 0-16, won their play in so we play them.

3/8: 64-53. #2 seed New Mexico, 18-10, 11-5, in the semis.

We’re border line at best with an RPI of 157.

3/12: Invited! CHI #8 East. We play #1 seed, 17-11 High Point.

3/14: 67-52. Next is #5 seed Dartmouth, 18-11.

3/21: 60-61. Tough loss.

4/4: #3 BYU beat #1 Kansas for the title.

Awards: Our junior center makes conf. 1st team. Soph PG makes 2nd team.

4/23: We ask for a facilities upgrade. No luck.
