The barrier to trying something new is not what you expect. The biggest reason not to try something new is not that it might not sell well or the market might be too small but in designing a product that is actually good and would meet the desires of those who want it. A couple of people over time have asked about college baseball and for me I know the basics of baseball as I played it growing up and used to be a MLB fan but I don't have the subject knowledge like I do in the basketball arenas to be able to make a good game out of it - not without learning an awful lot more about the game and the nuances of college baseball in particular.
I do obviously know how to do the majority of the work which is the coding and design and development of the game and even the mechanics of things happening in the game like recruiting (since recruiting happens in college basketball) but its the subject matter that is the stopping point. If I had someone (or a team of people) who were truly committed to the project and would essentially design the game on paper, be able to play the game and say this is right, this isn't working as it should etc, support the game in the community and support issues with the mechanics of the game itself then its something that could be a reality. If there are people out there that want to discuss that my DMs are always open
