Installation Help: DDSPB 1.5.4

Postby paolomelchor » Fri Jan 04, 2019 9:01 am

Hi!

I need help... I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 10 and tried to install DDSPB 1.5.4. It installs fine, but it will not open or run. I've tried reinstalling using Windows compatibility (XP S2, XP S2 and Windows 7) and running the program as an admin, but nothing works. This used to work on my desktop using Windows 7, so I'm really not sure what could be wrong.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you have a virus scanner going that is maybe trying to block the program? Try turning it off and seeing if the program will run or going into the virus scanner and setting it as a safe program to open

Hi!

I tried both adding the program on the whitelist and turning off / pausing my virus scanners (I'm using both Kaspersky Free and Emisoft Anti-Malware), but it still won't open or run.

Which year of the game is it that you're trying to install? Maybe there is some other kind of file missing

I believe this is the very first DDSPB that was released in 2007.

Oh wow that was a long time ago. That might have even been before I moved the code over to a more updated version of the programming language so its possible that Win 10 might not be able to run it
