5/1: 5-2, 4.5-1, 4-1, 3-2, 2.5-3, 1.5-1.

Preseason #2 but I think we’ll be lucky to end up top 10.

6/5: We look at 2 borderline transfers.

6/12: No to both.

6/26: 6 scholarships. Looking at 18.

Ted Daws goes #4, Al Tack #15, John Wall #24, Mick Beck #29, Dan Dahl #44 in the NBA draft.

8/7: Wes Warp is #6 and Jay Gloe #12 on the Norton list.

8/21; We offer to 2 PGs, a PF, 3 Cs.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: We get 2, lose 2. We get C/PF Soe Guze, #39, and guard Reg More, #11.

Preseason NIT vs. Ohio ST 1st.

9/25: We get 1, lose 3. We get Rah Cohe, PG, #21.

10/2: First day of practice. We have our work cut out.

11/6: 9 man rotation: Starting at guard are soph Jed Elly and frosh Chad Nunn. Backing up are senior Zac Wigs, junior Ad Wall.

SF will be split evenly between seniors Chad Max and John Over. Over is a walk on.

Starting inside are senior Jay Gloe and junior Wes Warp. Backing them up is senior Matt Hall, another walk on.

Frankly, we didn’t look great in the exhibition games.

We start at the NIT with unranked Ohio ST. We are the #1 seed in a strong field.

11/14: 77-63. 20, 5 with 4 blocks for Warp, but fouls held him to 20 min. 15, 12 for Gloe. 41 RBs, 6 TOs. 58 fouls were called, and that’s outrageous. Both head coaches were T’d up.

#9 seed, #15 ranked Iowa ST in the 2nd round.

11/16: 79-55. Warp was immense, 40, 13, 2, 3, 2. +14 TOs (12).

#12 seed, #21 ranked Seton Hall in the semifinals.

11/18: 66-59. It was close all the way. We scored the last 8 points. 28, 11, 0, 3, 3 for Warp. +12 TOs (9).

Unranked #11 seed Virginia upset #9 ranked FL, #8 ranked Louisville, and then #3 ranked Kentucky to get to the title game.

11/20: 84-61 and the title! 24, 7 for tourney MOP Wes Warp. 9, 10, 2 for Gloe. 15, 3, 4, 2 for guard Jed Elly, 17, 6 for SF John Over. +11 TOs, +8 RBs.

Admittedly we got some help in the tourney with lots of the better teams being upset, but we won it!

11/21: 81-51 over unranked New Mexico here. 38, 17 for Warp, 16, 4 for Wigs. 51 RBs, 7 TOs.

Maybe we’re better than I thought.

Rematch with #12 Seton Hall, there. We won by only 7 in the NIT.

11/24: 74-60. 25, 12, 6 blocks for Warp. 13, 2, 2, 2 for Over.

Walk on John Over has been giving us way more than Chad Max at SF; he’ll start. Jay Plow will start for Chad Nunn. Bad day for Chads.

11/27: 6-0, #1, RPI #10. #17 Georgetown, 3-2, is here.

11/28: 81-68. 17, 8, 3, 2, 2 for Gloe, 14, 11, 2 for Over, 8, 10 for Warp (1st time he scores less than 20), 10 each for Plow, Elly, and Max. 45 and 13.

150 wins in a row.

At #22 Arkansas, 4-1, next.

12/1: And the streak ends at 150. 77-80. They hit a three with less than a second to go. 18 TOs didn’t help, but they had 18 as well. What did us in was fouls; Over fouled out and 4 others ended up with 4. It had to end sometime, and it will be a LONG time until someone breaks this record.

23, 7 for Warp, 14, 11 for Gloe22, 4, 4 for Elly.

12/4: 7-1, #1, RPI #2.

Two home games this week. #18 Creighton is next.

12/5: 79-56. 22, 20 for Warp, 12, 14, 3 for Gloe, 14 for Elly, 11 for Plow. 50 and 10.

Michigan, 3-3, is here next.

12/8: 69-53. 23, 10 with 6 blocks for Warp, 13, 4, 5 for Over, 7, 11, 8 for Elly, but 6 TOs. 42 and 12.

12/11: 9-1, #1, #1.

At 3-4 LSU next.

12/13: 73-64. We were down 16 early, 9 at the half. 21, 4, 5, 3, 4 for Warp, 13, 12 for Gloe, 19, 6, 3 for Elly.

12/18: 10-1, #1, #1. 4-4 Indiana is here, in the last pre-conf. game.

12/19: 86-58. 18, 5 for Warp, 14, 2, 2 for Nunn, 11, 6, 5, 3 for Over.

12/25: We end pre-conf. play at 11-1, #1, #1. +16.4 PPG, +9.5 RBs, +4.9 TOs. The winning streak ended at 150. The new one is at 4.

We start conf. play at 6-3 Temple.

12/27: 75-69. 22, 8 with 5 blocks for Warp. All 5 starters in double figures. It was close, never more than 8 points.

Back up guard Ad Wall broke a toe. Out 9 weeks, or until the conf. tourney.

9-1 Tulsa is here next.

12/30: 85-48. 21, 5, 6 for Elly, 16, 9 with 4 blocks for Warp, 14, 7 for Over. 41, 10.

1/1/’52: 13-1, 2-0, #1, RPI #1.

At 7-5, 2-0 Tulane next.

1/3: 67-68. We were down as many as 19. We made a big comeback but missed a 16 footer at the buzzer. 28, 9 with 4 blocks for Warp, 14 RBs for Gloe.

It’s still early but everyone in Div. I has at least 2 losses except for #7 ranked Oregon. They’re undefeated.

9-4, 3-0 Cincinnati is here next.

1/6: 78-65. 24, 12, 2, 2, 4 for Warp. 18 TOs, not good.

1/8: 14-2, 3-1. #1, RPI #1. In a 4 way tie for 1st in conf.

At 8-5, 3-1 Central FL next.

1/10: 76-63 over one of the teams we were tied with. 15, 13, 2, 3, 11 for Warp, a triple double. We are now alone in 1st, a ½ game up on 2 teams, 1 game up on another, 1 ½ on three more.

5-8, 3-1 SMU is here next.

1/13: 76-46. 19, 7 with 6 RBs for Warp. Now a full game up on 2 teams, 1 ½ on 2 more.

At 9-6, 3-3 Memphis next.

1/15: 16-2, 5-1, #1, RPI #2. Oregon lost twice last week. No team has fewer than 2 losses.

1/16: 98-77. 30, 11 for Warp, 18, 3, 5, 3 for Over, 15, 2, 6 for Elly, 11, 7, 3, 1, 2 for Max, 9, 9, 2, 2 for Gloe. We’re playing well right now.

6-9, 1-5 East Carolina is here.

1/18: 79-45. 29, 20 for Warp, 10, 11, 2 for Gloe.

We’re going to start Zac Wigs for Jay Plow.

Sub PF/C Tod Vine sprains a toe. Out 2 weeks. The bench is getting short.

At 6-10, 3-4 Houston.

1/20: 88-75. 19, 10 for Warp, 17, 9, 3 for Gloe, 18, with 6 assists for Wigs in his first start, 16, 6, 6, 2 for Elly.

1/22: 19-2, 8-1, #1, RPI #2. 2 game lead in conf.

13-6, 7-3 Temple is here next.

1/27: 81-70. 20, 5, 3, 2 for Warp, 14 each for Elly and Wigs. 10 TOs.

1/29: 20-2, 9-1, #1, #1. 1 up on Tulsa, 2 ½ or more over the rest. +16.9 PPG, +9.1 RBs, +4.5 TOs.

Wes Warp is #2, Jay Gloe #18 on the Norton list.

At 2nd place Tulsa, 16-3, 8-2. We won by 37 at our place but the road is always tougher.

1/31: 66-63. This was a battle. They led by 12 with 14:09 to play. We made a couple of adjustments and things got better, but we never led by more than 3. With 12 seconds left, John Over made a lay up on a set play, a back door cut by him that worked. They brought it down, got the shot they wanted, but missed. Gloe got the RB and the buzzer sounded.

We won it without Warp. He was in foul trouble all night and fouled out playing a total of 12 minutes. I took a T when they called #5. It was dangerous in a close game, but as often happens the calls went our way after that. Most referees are dunces.

16, 8, 4, 3 for Elly, 18 for Wigs, who has been playing very well since I put him in the starting lineup, 11 RBs for Gloe. Chad Max had 12, 8, 2, 2, 3 from the bench. +13 RBs but they stopped our bigs from scoring much- or the refs did. Still, we now have a 2 game lead.

Water wars and water riots are taking place on every continent. In North America only the Latin American countries are having to deal with this; the U. S. and Canada are fine.

People are still dying by the millions for lack of fresh water. The aftermath of the attempted dictatorship here led to major changes in policies toward mega-corporations, and also led to environmental protection laws- water was declared a public resource, and was taken over by the government, which nationalized all of the water owning companies. Fracking was 100% banned, probably too late, but better late than never.

Canada always had sane policies regarding these things.

U. S. foreign policy does far less than it did traditionally. We are now careful to do only what clearly protects our national interests, and we stay out of most conflicts. We are isolated, but given the state of the world that seems wise.

2/5: 21-2, 10-1, #1, #1. 2 ½ game lead. Texas and Oregon have 2 losses, Syracuse has 3, everyone else has 4 or more (only 2 teams have 4).

12-10, 7-5 Tulane is here. They beat us by 1 there.

2/6: 84-69. 23, 5, 3 for Warp, 20 each for Gloe and Wigs, 9, 5, 10, 2 for Elly. 35 and 7. The lead is now 3.

At 7-16, 2-12 East Carolina next.

2/10: 72-52. 32, 19 with 9 blocks for Warp, who just missed his 2nd triple double of the season. 18, 5, 2 for Over. 41 and 8.

2/12: 23-2, 12-1, #1, #1. 3 1/2 game lead in conf.

Wes Warp is still #2 on the Norton list. The #1 guy is averaging 36 PPG and 8.3 RBs.

10-13, 5-9 Central FL is here.

2/13: 70-53. 11, 10 with 5 blocks for Warp, 14, 5 for Wigs. But 18 TOs. We average 12.4, and I am not happy with that.

At 9-14, 7-7 SMU next. We’re 4 up with 4 to play.

2/15: 75-73. We dodged a bullet. We were down 15 with 6:22 to go when I called my last TO and raised the riot act. We chipped away for the rest of the game but did not lead in the second half until John Over hit a 16 footer with 1.1 left.
21, 10 for Warp but he played only 18 minutes due to fouls. 17 for over, 14, 6 for Gloe. The issue was turnovers again- 20.

Sub Matt Hall hurt his calf. He may miss a game.

We have clinched the conf. title.

15-9, 9-6 Memphis is here.

2/17: 29, 5, 5 for Wigs, 22, 7 for Warp, 11, 8, 3 for Gloe, 9, 7, 2 for Max. 43 RBs, 5 TOs.

2/19: 26-2, 15-1, #1, #1. 5 game lead in conf. with 2 to play.

16-10, 10-6 Cincy, tied for 2nd, is next, there.

2/21: 86-93 in OT. We blew a 17 point lead. They blew an 11 point lead. With less than a minute to go in regulation both of our starting guards had fouled out. We lost it at the line, shooting only 18-32 while they were 32-35. We had 20 TOs to their 27. +9 RBs. Both teams played terrible basketball. In the OT they were a little less terrible than we were. 23, 13, 5, 2, 2 for Warp.

We close the regular season with 10-16, 6-11 South FL here.

2/24: 71-42. 29, 14 with 6 blocks for Warp. 35 and 6.

2/26: We end the regular season 27-3, 16-2, #1, #1. We win the conf. by games. +15.7 PPG, 9.4 RBs, +4.7 TOs.

3/5: We don’t expect major losses to the NBA this season but any loss will be tough for us given that we don’t have the talent we have had in the past.

We lose 2 guards: Jed Elly and Jay Plow.

Wes Warp is still #2 on the Norton list.

3/9: #9 seed Houston, 10-18, 6-12, won the play in. We won by 13 there.

3/10: 70-52. 20, 8, 4 blocks for Warp, 7, 15, 2 for Gloe, 17 for Wigs. 45 and 11.

#5 seed Temple, 17-11, 10-8, in the semis. Only beat them by 6 and 11, but their starting PG had a season ending injury, as did their 6th man.

3/11: 75-60. 31, 10, 1, 4, 5 for Warp.

#10 seed South FL, 13-17, 6-12, on three straight upsets, is in the final. We beat them by 29 last week.

3/12: 75-49. 21, 13 for Warp, 18 for Wigs, 9, 11, 9 blocks for Gloe.

#2 overall! #1 ranked, #1 RPI. How did THAT happen?

We play 15-15 Texas Southern first.

Can we win #5 in a row? We need to stay healthy, play our best, and take better care of the ball, but it is possible.

Terrorist attacks happen daily, usually several of them, both here, and in countries all over the world. No country seems immune. The battle to simply stay alive is constant, and this leads to the violent struggle to obtain food, water, the basics of life.

The hate groups are very powerful and very dangerous. Agent Bruce Ewusy checks in regularly. He says the protection we are under is vital, and probably will remain so. My success has made me a target for the crazies.

The environmental experts still predict a stabilization of the world population at about 800 millions, but that’s about 1/3 of the current population, so there’s lots of ugliness ahead. The shoreline keeps creeping inland. The UConn main campus is now at what used to be the Torrington branch, in Northwestern CT, and far from the ocean. The site has been expanded a great deal.

3/16: 71-51.21, 11 for Warp, 17, 4 for Chad Max at SF, 9, 8, 3 for Gloe.

It was a costly victory. Starting SF, walk on John Over, broke his hand and is out for the season.

Chad Max will start and Matt Hall will pick up minutes.

#8 seed, Kansas, 20-12, is next.

3/18: 70-53. 19, 9, 4, 1, 3 for Warp. +16 RBs, but lots of foul trouble and 16 TOs.

#12 seed, unranked Akron, 24-8, in the Sweet Sixteen.

3/23: 72-54. The bench saved us in this one. 14, 5 for Tod Vine, 11, 7 for Matt Hall. Wigs had 19 but Warp was in foul trouble again, 12 and 6 in only 14 minutes.

#3 seed, #12 ranked, #10 seed Stanford in the Elite Eight. Their starting C has a broken leg, and their starting SG flunked off the team in December, but they’re still winning.

3/25: 68-62. We were down 24 with 19:12 to play. I rolled the dice. We went with full court pressure D, doubling the ball. It worked. From that point on we outscored them 49-19. 13, 18, 1, 1, 8 for Warp, 10, 13 for Gloe, 18 for Wigs, 8 each for Elly and Plow, 9 for Nunn. We had 20 TOs, but only 6 in the 2nd half. +10 RBs. We won it with D.

Well, we made it back to the Final Four. I wasn’t sure we would. It won’t get easier.

We play #1 seed, #3 ranked, #5 RPI Kentucky, 30-6.

On the other side it’s #1 seed, #2 ranked, #3 RPI Texas, 34-3, vs. #1 seed, #5 ranked, #7 RPI North Carolina, 29-7.

4/1: 70-57 and we get to defend our title! 21, 7, 6, 2 for Elly, maybe his best game ever for us. 15, 10 for Warp, 8, 11, 3 for Gloe, 7, 8, 2 for Wigs. +10 RBs. TOs were even (13).

#2 Texas, 35-3, for the title. This is an excellent team, and they’re deep. We’ll need to be at our best.

4/3: We built a quick double figure lead and held it. 46-32 at the half. +9 RBs, good shooting, not much foul trouble inside but some with then guards, 6 TOs for the half.

77-61, and a fivepeat! They never got closer than 7 in the 2nd half. +9 TOs, +6 RBs, 8 fewere fouls. 30 and 6 for Warp, 14, 5, 3, 2, 2 for Max, 12, 8, 6, 5, 2 for Gloe, 10, 2 for Wigs, 6, 6, 4 for Elly. The only other guy to score was Nunn, 5.

I honestly did not expect the title this year. I’m delighted!

4/4: Awards: Wes Warp was Final Four MOP, Defensive POY, and 1st team All American. #2 player in the country. I was national COY again. In Conf. Warp was POY, Def. POY, 1st team. Jed Elly and Jay Gloe made 2nd team. I was Conf. COY.

4/23: The usual request. Still at A+ with facilities.

33-3, 16-2. Overall, 541-73, .881. 10 game win streak.

This title was very satisfying. I truly did not expect it. Wes Warp will be back for his senior season, and we have some good players coming in- #12, 14, 28, 39, 59, 61.

Let’s see what happens.

5/1: 5-1, 4.5-2, 4-2, 3.5-1, 3-2, 2.5-1, 2-2.

Preseason #1. Is a sixpeat possible? I never thought we’d get the fivepeat, and Wes Warp is back for his senior season so…

6/5: Looking at transfers. There’s an SF from North Carolina we will probably offer to, but we’re seeing if there’s any other talent. We need bigs. Nobody else. We offer to the SF.

6/12: Got him. Luke Mill, 4.5 star junior.

6/26: 3 scholarships. We want at least 2 bigs. Looking at 10, 5 bigs, 5 guards.

NBA Draft: Jed Elly #7, Jay Plow #11, Jay Gloe #27, Chad Max #46.

8/7: 4 on the Norton list: C/PF Wes Warp is #1, SF Mo Bank #14, PG Chad Nunn #21, and PG Ray Coen #38.

8/21: We offer to an SG, an SF, a C.

9/18: We lose the SF, get the SG, Dee Pete, #3, and C/PF Sal Robb, #25. We offer to a C.

No in season tournament.

9/25: We lose the big and offer to another big.

10/2: 1st day of practice.

10/9: We got JC C/PF Otto Thud, #40.

11/6: 9 man rotation:

At guard, soph Chad Nunn and frosh Ray Coen will share the Point and play some SG. Senior Ad Wall and soph Josh Sim will back up.

Junior juco Mo Bank starts at SF.

Inside is senior All American Wes Warp and frosh Soe Guzy. Junior juco Con Carr and soph Tod Vine back up at the 3 inside positions.

86-70 at Oregon. 21, 12 for Warp, 18, 6, 5 for Bank, 10, 6, 2 for both Guzy and Coen. 49 and 12. Our weakness is D; we’re giving up 70.0 PPG. We’re playing tough teams but that needs to improve.

3 more before conf. play begins, all at home.

12/11: 6-1. #3, RPI #1.

We beat #7 Indiana, 80-57 here. 20, 6 with 4 blocks for Warp. 7 TOs.

12/18: 7-1, #1, #1.

3 game week.

New York City has been gone for years. That’s difficult for all of us to wrap our heads around. All of the West Coast cities as well. Florida? Practically nonexistent. Sure, we’ve given the names to new places, on higher ground and further inland.

We’ve moved the people out, the businesses, whatever could be moved. Sports teams are playing in smaller parks, fields, stadiums, gyms- whatever. But the population is so much less that the huge venues aren’t needed.

12,000 at a pro football or baseball game is a huge crowd now. 5,000 at a basketball or hockey game is equally so.

The population lessened away from the two coasts as a result of climate change as well. The inability to grow crops in many places, the lack of potable water in even more were causes. Earthquakes and poisonings of all kinds due to fracking was a huge factor. Fracking was finally outlawed, but the U. S. was the last place where that happened, and it wasn’t until 2037. Its effects will go on for- well, no one knows.

People have been forced to discover that they could live far more simply than they would have thought possible. These days anyone who goes to a warm, safe bed with a full stomach is wealthy. Many do not.

Our major colleges and universities still exist, but they teach agriculture and the trades more than anything else. There may be 25 research universities in the entire country. But hey, the tuition is cheap. But then most students go part time.

Jobs? Agriculture related jobs are the most common, then refuse collection and disposal, repair- carpenters, plumbers, electricians and the like get lots of work fixing things but no new houses are being built, haven’t been for years. There are a limited number of shops, small, family run, selling anything that will sell, but not many are buying because not many have money.

You want to buy food? Talk to the farmer who grew or raised it. Many of them open to sell their goods in the evening, usually for a couple of hours only. If it’s not in season it’s not available. Nothing is shipped any distance any more. Meat? Most people hunt, fish, trap, raise chickens or other animals if they can. But they need 24 hour guards willing to shoot to kill, because hungry people will try to steal. The farmers have guards patrolling their land 24/7/365.

Folks who can have backyard or window box gardens but there again, they need to be guarded.

There’s still government but it’s limited. Police, road repair (not much of that though)… The Federal government is pretty much Army (including what used to be the Air Force), Navy (including what used to be the Marines), FBI, a very limited Department of Safety, which has way too few inspectors, who go around testing for poisons of all kinds. Oh, getting into the Army and Navy is all but impossible since they are among the very few institutions where a person can be fairly certain of a regular pay check. And the military truly is a defense force. We patrol our shores, and keep an army ready in case of invasion, and to keep down insurrection, violent protests, riots, and things like that.

Health care? If you live where there’s a hospital within a reasonable distance you are very lucky. If you can find a doctor to give your child the vaccinations and check ups needed, you are even luckier.

But the #1 problem, by far, is potable water. Owning water to sell is illegal; it's okay to have your own water supply but only for your own residence- or residences if there's more than one on the property. The government operates all public water supplies.

Our family is unbelievably fortunate. As I’ve said before we are in the top 1% in this country. But, to stay that way we have a force of paid guards that acts almost like a private police force. This is in addition to the people guarding us since the attacks. We farm the entire 75 acre property we live on, and pay lots of farmer workers. We don’t pay the volunteer guards but they get all of the food we and our paid workers cannot use. It makes a difference in their lives, believe me. Our paid staff and our volunteers know that if worst comes to worst we are all in it together. There’s a plan in place if conditions become apocalyptic. That will happen at some point, I’m sure.

I’ve mentioned our place in the Scottish Highlands. The same, we’re all in it together philosophy is in place there, whether we can get there or not if and when the apocalypse hits. That is our Plan A, but the odds of making it happen are probably miniscule.

So we, like everyone else, live one day at a time, hoping for the best, but not expecting anything near it.

1/29: 3-0. We’re 19-1, 11-0. #1, #1. 2 up on Cincy, 3 on Memphis, 4 or more on the rest, with 7 to play. +19.1 PPG, +6.9 RBs, +7.6 TOs.

We beat Central FL here by 33. 33, 14, 0, 2, 4 for Warp, 15, 2, 4 for Sim12, 7 for Carr, 11, 4, 3, 2, 2 for Bank.

2/5: 1 game week. We beat Tulane 97-69 here. 29, 16, 5 blocks for Warp. 4 others in double figures.

2/12: 2-0. 76-65 at Houston. 15, 16, 1, 1, 6 for Warp.

92-72 over #19, 2nd place C incy, here. 23, 12, 4, 3, 6 for Warp, 22, 7, 2, 2, 2 for Bank.

22-1, 14-0, #1, #1. 3 up on Cincy, 5 or more on the rest, with 4 to play.

Wes Warp #1, Mo Bank #13 on the Norton list.

2/19: 3 game week. 3 wins. 25-1, 17-0, #1, #1. Clinched 1st.

93-84 at East Carolina. The three blind mice called 64 fouls- I don’t remember that many ever being called. All of our starters ended up with 4 or 5. Warp played 11 minutes, Coen 12, Guzy 17 due to fouls. Fortunately, our bench got us through.

In the last minute, when we were up 13, and it was safe to do so, I got myself tossed by getting 2 Ts. It was intentional; I was not out of control. And I probably said about $10,000 worth of derogatory things about them in the postgame press conference. We’ll see what the fine is.

67-52 at Tulsa. 28, 11, 7 blocks for Warp. 79-56 over Temple here. 22, 12 for Warp. 41 and 10.

2/26: We end the regular season with an 86-76 win at South FL. 5 in double figures.

We end up 26-1, 18-0, 4 up on Cincy, 6 or more on the rest. +18.5 PPG, +6.9 RBs, +7.4 TOs. 1st in all 3 categories, plus in blocks, and in steals allowed. We are # 4 both in assists, and in assists allowed. Warp is #1 in RBs and blocks.

Chad Nunn is back, but he’s lost his spot. Ad Wall is starting. Nunn will be our #3 guard.

3/5: The dreaded day has arrived. We lose guards Chad Nunn and Reg More.

Wes Warp remains #1 on the Norton list.

3/9: #9 seed SMU wins the play in. We won by 30 here and 18 there.

3/10: 79-67. 6 in double figures. +8 RBs, +8 TOs.

All the favorites won so it’s #4 seed Tulane, 17-12, 11-7 in the semis.

3/11: 89-75. 19, 9 for Warp, 21, 3 for Bank, 13, 5, 11, 3, 2 for Coen.

#3 seed Memphis, 20-10, 12-6, in the title game.

3/12: 23, 12, 3, 2, 2 for Warp, 18, 4, 5, 2, 3 for Bank. It was never close.

29-1, 18-0, #1, #1. This turned out to be a very good team. How good? We’re about to find out!

#2 overall again, which makes no sense. #1 over all Stanford is #2 in both polls, #2 RPI.

Manhattan, 17-13, 1st.

3/16: 83-59. 18, 12, 2, 4 for Warp, 20, 4, 4, 3 for Bank.

#9 seed Brigham Young, 23-10 in the 2nd round.

3/18: 96-57. 21, 4, 3 for Bank, 19, 3 for Warp, 13, 2, 6 for Nunn.

#5 seed, #25 ranked FL ST, 22-9, in the Sweet Sixteen.

3/23: 90-87. They came back from 15 down. Tied it, went ahead. Back and forth for the last 3 minutes. Wes Warp got an old fashioned three with 2.3 left, then blocked a shot at the other end, out beyond the paint, to ice it. He had 32 and 6 with 6 blocks. 13, 5, 10, 2 for Carr, 16, 3, 5 for Coen. 42, 10.

#2 seed, #12 ranked LSU, 27-6 in the Elite Eight. Won by only 8 at our place in December.

3/25: 67-57, and back to the Final Four! 19, 14, 3, 2, 6 for Warp, 13, 8, 4 for Bank, 13 for Wall, 8, 10 for Guzy. +20 RBs.

#5 ranked Indiana, 26-9, beat #1 overall seed, #2 ranked Stanford. We’ll play them in the national semifinal. On the other side it’s #4 ranked Georgia Tech, 28-9, vs. #8 ranked Syracuse, 25-9.

We beat both Indiana and Georgia Tech by 23 at our place. We did not play Syracuse.

4/1: 86-77. 21, 12, 4, 3, 5 for Warp. 26, 6, 4 for Bank. Great guard play. The final was as close as it got. We were never in danger. +24 RBs.

#4 ranked Georgia Tech, 29-9, for the title.

Memphis won the NIT.

4/3: 98-81 and the sixpeat! It was close for 32 minutes. At the media time out at that point we were tied. We outscored them 29-12 from there on. 31, 9, 3, 2 for Bank. 28, 6, 0, 2, 6 for Warp. 14, 2, 9, 2 for Wall. +9 RBs, +4 TOs. This was the last game for the best player I’ve ever coached for 4 years, Wes Warp.

4/4: Awards: Wes Warp was national POY, Final Four POY, Defensive POY, and 1st team All American. I was national COY again. In Conf., Warp got all the same awards as he did nationally, and Mo Bank joined him on 1st team. I was conf. COY.

4/23: We end the season 35-1, National champs for the 6th time in a row and 8th since I got here, and with a 31 game win streak. Overall, I’m 576-74, .886.

Next year? Who knows.
