Walk on dynasty

1/8: 1-1 to start Conf. O play. 8-5, RPI #139.

68-62 on the road. +14 RBs, but 19 TOs (-7). Jupe, Ball, Bard, and Land had good games.

Then we blew an opportunity by losing by 7 at home. We gave up 11 threes, and that did us in. Only 14 TOs. Bard and Jupe had good games again.

We’re going to start Bard.

2 at home this week and we want both of them.

1/15: 1-1, unfortunately.

Won the 1st game by 21. 25, 7 for Task. A season best 8 TOs.

Then we fell apart in the 2nd game; lost by 14. 24 for Jupe, 17, 8 for Bard, only 13 TOs, but we shot 37.3% and let them shoot 59.2%.

Ime Horn was hurt. Out about 10 days. He was dropped from the rotation a short time ago in favor of Che Toma.

9-6, 2-2. RPI #140. We need to get better- fast. It’s not too late.

1/22: 1-1 week. 10-7, 3-3, RPI #168. In a 4 way tie for 7th.

Lost by 9 on the road. No one had more than 9 points; no one had more than 7 RBs. 19 TOs. We shot 35%.

Then we played our best game of the year at home, winning 91-50. 15, 6, 8 for Ball, 20 for Jupe, 14, 6 for Task. 11 TOs, +13 RBs.

2 on the road this week.

1/29: 0-2. Close in both.

The 1st was 80-86 in OT. 23 TOs, 10 by our PG. We missed an 8 footer at the end of regulation.

82-87 in the 2nd. 20 TOs, and they shot 63%. 29 for Bard.

10-9, 3-5, RPI #192. In a 3 way tie for 10th. +2.0 PPG, +6.9 RBs, -0.7 TOs.

Have we gone as far as walk ons can take us?

2/5: 0-2, 10-11, RPI #202. 1 team below us, 3 tied with us.

1st game: 19 TOs, poor D, too many fouls.

2nd game: Poor D, worse shooting.

4 straight losses and I have no solutions.

3 of our last 6 are at home. I’m not sure 3-3 will be good enough IF we can win those three.

2/12: 1-1, 11-12, 4-8, RPI #231. In a 3 way tie for 13th. We need to move up in the standings or we’ll move down a conference.

Lost by 7 at home, which may have sealed our fate. 21 TOs.

Then a 14 point home win. 21, 6, 2 for Jann at SF. +14 RBs but 18 TOs.

3 of our last 4 are on the road. Not good.

2/19: 1-1. 12-13, 5-9, RPI #227. Now in a 2 way tie for 14th, with 2 road games to play.

17 point loss on the road. 20 TOs.

25 point home win. 5 guys in double figures.

2/26: 1-1. We end up 13-14, 6-10, RPI #220. In a 3 way tie for 13th, which means that we are relegated.

We won the 1st road game in OT, 63-56. We played decent ball; very good D.

Then we lost to the worst team in conf. by 15. A win would have saved us from relegation. 18 TOs, 31 fouls, 28.9% shooting.

The last 4 teams do not get to be in a play in game. Our season is finished, and so is this dynasty.

209-123, .630 in 11 seasons. We climbed from Conf. V to Conf. O before being relegated. That’s 7 jumps. Not bad!
