Draft file help?

Draft file help?

Postby flashmoney » Thu Jun 22, 2017 2:15 pm

Hey-
I would love to add an external draft file with the actual players getting drafted tonight. I bought CBB 17, but they don't seem to be the actual players/fictional names (?).

Can anyone help figure this out? I want to replay the 2016-17 season with the knicks dealing ALL their players except KP and see what I can build through this draft.

Thanks.

Couldn't find the draftpool file. There's a link in here

To one that worked with the 2016 game, not sure how it would translate into this one. Just messed around with trying out making this class, but didn't really understand some of the stats; RARate, CS, LocATB, LocCorner, LocMidrange, and LocPaint specifically, also wasn't sure if I should input age as it was at the beginning of the NBA season (ie if their 19 in draft, most would be 18 in October) and also wasn't sure about height, assuming put it in inches? And if I was to do say, 50 of the major guys, would the game fill in the rest of the spots with generic dudes? Anyone done a draft file before that I could look at as a reference?

The draftpool file works quite fine with 2017. When you import the draft class, the file has to be in the save-folder under the name "PBDraft.rkf" saved. You can use "Access" or "MDB Plus" (for free) to edit the database.

RARate-> Restricted Area Rate
CS-> Ball Action Catch&Shoot
LocATB->Floor Range "Above The Break"
LocCorner-> Floor Range "Corner"
LocMidrange-> Floor Range "Mdrange"
LocPaint->Floor Range "Post"

Important:
All Floor Ranges must be 100 all together
Same with Ball Actions 100 all together

Age: When they the drafted player play their rookie season, they are one year older than in the draft class.
Height: Yes, its in inches
The game will fill the rest of the draft class with automatically created players

This tool creates new draft classes. You can open them with "Access" or "MDB Plus". You can ignore the additional collums (they are only for my tool).

Hope I could help

Thanks so much! While I've got ya handy, how does this relate to the FgRa, FgATB, FgCor, etc you see in the editor on commissioner? Is it safe to assume those are the same as the LocStats? Because I feel like fairly frequently those are well over 100, with a lot of players having 30 or so in each, always thought those might have been sort of a like % to make it from that range, didn't really know what FgRA was.

Dope! Thanks for answering, also your link is super helpful. Gonna try to mess around and make a couple of classes these next few days, definitely pumped!

FgRa, FgATB, FgCor ect, are more or less values, with which % the player shoots in this area. If you open the PBDraft.rkf file in my tool, you have over 6000 players in the db, which you can easy compare, so that you get a feeling what are realistic rates (with min and max values).
The LocStats shows in which areas the player normaly move around. And the 4 values (Post, Mid, ATB, Corner) are always 100 together. (you can only change them in db, there is no posibility in the game with commisioner)

Sorry for the late reply. I started this, got through player names, schools, heights, ages, etc, took a lot more work than I'd expected, was still feeling great about the stats.

but holy **** man. So many values. And I don't know enough about the system to even begin to pretend to accurately portray what players will actually correspond to.

Found an easy enough alternative; did a default class. Editted the players after the game had already built them, changed names and stats up a bit, more or less was just superfluous though still tons of randomness.

then again; who's not to say Tyler Lydon is destined to be a 5 star all-star? :cool:
