Editing the teams file

Editing the teams file

Postby GiantYankee » Thu Aug 31, 2017 1:55 pm

I would like to create a fictional world. What source is being for longitude and latitude? When I do a quick google search a few cities aren't matching up to what's in the file. When editing teams do I need to worry about last year standing if my world is staring without a history? Can I edit conference formats while not deleting teams? Any other things that I need to consider? Thanks.

Another question. Can I delete bowls? I would like to keep bowls 0-6.

The lat/long is normally the lat/long listed for the school... could be the city center, could be the stadium, etc.

Yes, last year's standing matters since is uses that to seed the rankings.

Editing conference formats most likely will not work. Some scenarios will, but many will cause errors. Best is to create in sandbox mode, sim a few seasons and see what works and what doesn't.

Same with bowls... you can try removing them, but it may cause some issues.

Thanks Brooks. So long/lat doesn't appear to be something I need to worry that much about. How does the scheduling work? Especially if I start moving teams around?

the scheduling will still be affected by rivalry games, so you'll have to test whether moving them causes issues with over scheduling games, etc.
