Finally got around to playing my career again and what a game to come back to! We finished the regular season undefeated after knocking off TCU 45-38 in Double OT! Hell of a way to finish the season. Its time to play our Conference Championship and hope some pieces fall into place for us to get into the Top 4 (doubtful but fingers crossed!)

Brownell came on late in the year starting the year as my no.3 RB until I noticed he should've been my no.2 (in a committee).. what he did with 2 starts and only 7 games (including the Wheat Bowl) is absolutely incredible.. he is only a Junior so I'm praying he returns!!!

G Hugh Grady
DT Gerlad Gilchrist
LB Edwin Mickens

Prestige Increased by 4 to 51!

Conference USA Championship vs #22 Florida Atlantic (10-2) - W 55-24
Wheat Bowl vs #6 Boise State (12-1) - L 58-24

Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year
QB Donald Peters - 141/299 (47.2%) - 2883 yards, 27 TDs, 9 INTs
This award will be short lived for Peters.. he will not be our starting QB next year. We have two much more talented QB coming in that will push him to third string. At least he had a shot at glory for a bit.

All-Conference USA Honors
C Marco Benoit
DT Morris Garza
DE Omer McWilliams
SS Kevin Duarte

Was fortunate enough to only lose a Junior Kicker this year. Here's to hoping our freshman class coming in can help turn us into Bowl winners again.. Three straight Wheat Bowl appearances and finally lost one. Boise State was just way too much for our defense.

Playoffs vs #3 Ohio State (11-2) - L 38-34

An interception with less than 2 minutes left with the lead killed us.. dumb, dumb, DUMB play calling! I should have ran it on 3rd-8 and punted it but I wanted to win so bad I made a bad call and my QB threw a bad pass.. It was a great season nonetheless.. didn't expect to even be in the Playoffs in the first place.

In 2021 we're starting out ranked no.48 with a 58 prestige and the no.70 ranked recruiting class. This number is very misleading... I've got multiple recruits with 80+ overalls and two recruits with a 90+ overall. Those were huge steals but were ranked very low.. Looking forward to this season!

Finished ranked #3 (14-1, 9-0)

Recruits signed thus far...
3* DT Timothy Hernandez #594
3* CB Bob Leblanc #621
3* SS Aurelio Heinrich #627
3* DE Michael Webster #692
3* C Kevin Bethel #734
3* LB Jeffrey Cash #741
3* RB Willie Wooldridge #837
3* G Chuck Moore #878
3* G Rocco Horvath #890
3* LB Lonnie Brown #904
3* CB Paul Russo #1272
3* WR Mark Seibert #1380
3* WR Jesse Young #1715
3* DE Adam Pardo #2032
3* DT Adrian Elizondo #2181
2* WR William Curtin #3085
2* C Winston Perrin #3243
1* FS Thomas Almeida #3256
1* RB Dudley Russell #3418
1* TE Robert Allard #3506
1* QB Mathew Langley #3632

Our 2021 schedule goes as follows:
Week 1 @ Temple (0-0) - W 41-38
Week 2 vs #21 Texas A&M (0-1) - W 30-20
Week 3 vs #21 Oklahoma State (0-1) - W 45-26
Week 4 vs Rice (0-2) - W 44-24
Week 5 @ Marshall (2-2) - W 37-35
Week 6 vs Texas-El Paso (1-4) - W 68-0
Week 7 @ Southern Miss (0-6) - W 48-34
Week 8 @ Old Dominion (1-6) - W 31-26
Week 9 vs Middle Tennessee (3-4) - W 76-24
Week 10 @ North Texas (2-5) - W 31-14
Week 11 vs Louisiana Tech (6-4) - W 37-22
Week 13 @ Notre Dame (5-4) - W 34-23

Award Winners

Most Outstanding Defensive Player and Defensive Lineman

All-Conference USA Honors

C James Morgan (Junior)
G Everett Lott (Freshman)
G Trevor Davis (Sophomore)
DT Jamie Lott (RS Freshman)
DE Nicholas Thigpen (Junior)
CB Clarence Wren (Junior)
K Robert Park (RS Sophomore)

Extremely disappointing to lose a second National Championship. I thought we had this one in the bag but the Mississippi State offense was too much. We got a lot of help on defense in recruiting, so here's to hoping we finally put it together in 2022!

Juniors leaving:
LB Tommy Parks - 2 year starter as a RS Freshman and Sophomore but didn't play much in his RS Junior year. Not a big loss.

Its going very well.. we just need a damn National Championship victory :D

In 2022 we're starting out ranked no.45 with a 61 prestige (+3 from last season) and the no.61 recruiting class. Again, this is misleading, we snagged some gems with 85+ overalls in the lower ranks. Because of that, our relative recruiting rank is actually no.20!

No.3 in points per game (47.3)
No.4 in yards per game (546.0)

Week 2 @ Tulsa (0-0) - W 31-18
Week 3 @ Southern Methodist (1-0) - W 44-20
Week 4 vs Louisiana Tech (1-2) - W 52-24
Week 5 @ Florida Atlantic (0-3) - W 52-14
Week 6 vs North Texas (2-2) - W 62-17

Conference Awards

Conference-USA Offensive Player of the Year
QB Scott Sasser (Senior)

Conference-USA Defensive Player of the Year
FS Thomas Washington (RS Freshman)

All-Conference USA Honors
RB Daniel Kelso (Junior)
TE Mike Chamberlain (RS Junior)
WR Carlos Gallant (Senior)
DT Jamie Lott (RS Sophomore)
DE Nicholas Thigpen (Senior)
CB Clarence Wren (Senior)
FS Bill Baines (Senior)

I'd really like to see the process of choosing OPTY and DPTY.. neither of those guys were starters... REALLY strange!!!

We are going to miss so many of our players... most of our Seniors have been starting since day 1 as Freshmen! I really hope we recruited well these last few seasons and this doesn't ruin us to lose all of them!

We went up 2 in prestige to 63! We might be able to snag some local 4-star talents now that we're getting closer to the mid-60s in prestige.

Juniors leaving:
DE Michael Michel - He didn't start a single game over 3 seasons.. not a big loss.

However! We did lose some really good starting Seniors..
CB Clarence Wren - I know you've read his name multiple times the last few seasons... 4-time All Conference-USA and 1-time All-American!
SS Richard Hudgens - 4-time team captain and started 52 games over 4 seasons.
FS Bill Baines - 4-year starter (48 games)... was a team captain 3 times.
WR Haywood Segura - 4-year starter (49 games).
WR Charles Gallant - This is our biggest lost by far.. I have no clue how we will replace him :( 4-time All Conference-USA, 2-time Most Outstanding Receiver
