2016-17 Indiana Basketball Preview

A change in coaching is the talk of the town in Bloomington, but fans shouldn't worry as David Mikan has inherited the #10 team in the nation. The Hoosiers will be lead by star forward Mike Davis, who according to Mikan, was snubbed in the preseason release of the Wooden Watch. White will have a great supporting cast, in PG Tony Turner and 6'7 Big man Isaac Miller. Larry Kamara, a 6'6 wing, and Freshman guard Donny Logan will round out the starting line up. There are high hopes on campus and the nation will watch to see what he can do in his first season.

Class of 2017 Recruiting Round-up - Indiana University

First year coach, David Mikan has the campus buzzing before their first game. Mikan has filled all four scholarships in the early signing period, and he used to prestige of IU to land 4 top-100 recruits. The headliner of the class is #11 recruit in the nation Nick Woods, a 6'0 PG out of Vermont. Woods averages 21.6 ppg, 9.6 apg, 6 steals and 5 rebounds a game at Woodstock Union High School. Woods chose IU over rival Kentucky, much to the relief of Hoosier fans across the country. The second recruit #36 Jason Holmes was born an raised a Hoosier, playing at Wabash High School in Wabash, IN. The 6'3 guard made it clear from the start that IU was his destination and Mikan was happy to sign him on. Holmes had interest from Michigan St., Purdue, UCONN, and Louisville but instead he relished in being known as the hometown kid. Mikan then went across the pond to sign 6'8 wing Venedict Shikolenko, a Russian who is averaging 17 ppg on the Russian U18 National Team. Mikan connected with Shikolenko when IU fell out of contention with a few other forwards and the verbal was given within a few weeks of first contact. The last signee was #54 recruit Angelo Patton, a 6'6 big out of New York. Indiana swooped in and grabbed him from locals Seton Hall and St. John's since Patton had always wanted the play on the biggest stage.
