1/1/1905: 3-0 start to ACC play, 2 against ranked teams. Still #1.

1/15: 17-1, 5-1. Virginia beat us in OT there. We didn’t shoot well and we didn’t defend the three well.

Then we went and beat #8 UNC there by 16.

Still #1.

1/29: 20-1, 8-1, +16.7 PPG, +15.2 RBs, +1.8 TOs. 1 up on FL ST, 2 up on 3 teams.

Ted Misk is #4, and Art Delk #27 on the Norton list.

2/12: 25-1, 13-1, #1, RPI #1. 1 up on FL ST, 3 or more on the rest, with 4 to play. 3 of our last 4 are on the road.

Ted Misk is now #2 on the Norton list.

I’m seeing more and more of those horseless carriages. I’ve ridden in one. Too fast. I know, a train goes faster. It’s not the same. A train is much safer.

2/26: We end the regular season 26-2, 16-2, #1, RPI #1. Tied for 1st in the ACC with FL ST. We get the #1 seed. +17.8 PPG, +15.8 RBs, +2.6 TOs. #2 in PPG, #1 in RBs and assists, #7 in blocks, #18 in TOs. Misk leads us with 25.5 and 10.6. Delk gets 12.6 and 10.9. Inge is at 13.7, 7.9. Tsak gets 7.7 assists.

Misk is #3 on the Norton list.

3/9: #9 seed Miami, 16-12, 8-10, in the quarters.

3/10: 69-48. Great D! 29, 14 for Miskell, 13, 12 for Delk. +23 RBs.

#5 seed, #13 ranked North Carolina, 22-9, 12-6, in the semis. We won by 9 at our place.

3/11: 79-74. We led most of the way but it stayed close. 24, 12 for Misk, 15, 10 for Delk, 14, 12 for Inge, 18, 7 for sub big guy Bud Tash, 13 RBs for Bora, 12 assists for Tsak. +18 RBs, 8 TOs.

As expected it’s #2 seed, #3 ranked Florida ST for the title. We beat them by 2 there in a terrific game. It should be a war!

3/12: 72-70. They led by 11 early, by 5 at the half. It was back and forth for the last 20 minutes. We took our biggest lead of the game, 8, with 2:07 to go. They came back, but fell short when a 24 footer missed at the buzzer. 28, 16 for Misk. +16 RBs.

31-2, 16-1, #1, #1.

#1 overall. We play 17-14 Idaho ST.

3/16: 100-65. 28, 6 for Misk, 15, 4, 13 for Tsak, 18, 10 for Inge, 14, 13 for Bora. +14 RBs, 3 TOs- for the entire game!

#9 seed Oregon, 17-12, in the 2nd round. We won by only 4 there, but their best player is out with a broken wrist.

3/18: 78-58. 31, 12 for Misk, 24, 12 for Delk, 11, 10 for Bora. 53 RBs, 11 TOs.

#4 seed, #9 ranked Charlotte, 31-2, in the Sweet Sixteen. Terrific PF, very good PG and SF. We need to play well.

3/23: 22, 12 for Delk, 18, 7 for Misk. 57 RBs, 12 TOs.

Florida ST was shocked by UNC, losing by 2 on a last second three.

#2 seed, #4 ranked Michigan ST, 32-2, in the Elite Eight. VERY good inside, but good all around. We’re playing well, we’ll need to turn it up a notch.

3/25: 77-87. Dang! We were up 7 at the half. We shot 22.2% in the 2nd. 27, 11 for Misk, but he was 8-32. Only Delk shot well but he only took 8 shots. They really made it tough for us to get the ball inside, and that did us in.

A disappointing end to the season, but all 5 starters are back, and we have some great players coming in.

4/3: #2 Arizona wins it all.

4/4: Awards: Ted Misk is National Frosh OY and 1st team All American. I get National COY. IN the ACC Misk is POY, Frosh OY, and 1st team, along with Art Delk.

Not moving!

4/16: Hired another awful assistant.

4/23: Asking for a facilities upgrade. Got it; went from A to A+.

34-3, 16-2. Overall, 483162, .749.

5/1: The usual reports.

Preseason #1.

6/5: No one in the transfer pool.

The Lewis and Clark Centennial opens in Oregon. These expositions are great!

6/26: 3 scholarships. We need 3 bigs.

8/7: 7 on the Norton list: SG Ted Misk is #6, PF Bud Tash #14, SF Neil Inge #15, SG Sam Wood #17, PF Art Delk #31, PF Jay Cage #38, C Cal Robb #48.

8/21: We offer to PFs.

9/18: Got 2, lost one. Got PF #3, and PF #5.

Coaches Classic vs. Drake. Mostly top 25 teams on the sched.

9/25: Got the last one, a C, #8.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We’re LOADED!

11/6: Tough decisions as to who plays where and how much. For now, here’s what we have:

Sophs Ido Tsak and Ted Misk are back at PG and SG.

Backing up at guard are junior Gbai Chmo, and frosh Sam Wood, who starts at SF.

Senior Neil Inge gets equal minutes with Wood at SF.

Soph Bud Tash starts at PF, and backs up at C. Senior Adam Bora and frosh Cal Robb back up.

Senior Art Delk is back at C.

We are too talent rich to give adequate minutes to all who deserve them. It’s a pleasant problem but it could well lead to players transferring out.

We start at the Coaches Classic with Drake. We’re the #2 seed.

11/13: 92-59 over Drake. 55-25 at the half. 6 with 10 or more, 51 RBs, 8 TOs. I played everybody.

#10 seed UTEP in the 2nd round.

11/15: 86-79 in OT. D was awful, and so was the shot selection. They’re going to be hearing about it in practice. Ted Misk hit a 22 footer at the end of regulation to save us. He had 26 and 15. Art Delk had 16, 24, 3, 5.

#3 seed, #14 ranked Cincinnati, in the semis. We need to play better than we did against UTEP. They have really good guards. Yesterday’s practice was not pleasant. I was all over my guys. I didn’t work them that hard physically, since we’re playing every other day in the tourney, but I was on every mistake, and on every time someone didn’t give it all they had.

11/17: 70-59. We played the kind of D we should play; they shot 32.2%, 25% on threes. 18, 14 for Misk, 13, 10 for Delk, 15, 6 for Tash, 10, 5, 4 for Inge.

In the title game with #5 seed, #15 ranked Maryland, who upset #1 seed UNC by 5. We’re the better team. Let’s scan play that way.

11/19: 83-75 and the title! Not happy with the D, especially the outside D, but we took an early lead and never let go. The final score was as close as they got in the 2nd half. 28, 12 for tourney MOP Ted Misk. 15, 13 for Delk, 14 for Inge, 10, 8 for Tash. 49 RBs, 7 TOs.

We’re looking at personnel. Tash and Inge deserve more minutes but we’re not sure how to give them to them.

11/20: #1 ranked.

All three recruits signed.

Next 4 are against #6, 5, 7, and 15. All at home though.

12/4: 8-0, #1, RPI #1. Beat the 4 ranked opponents by 20, 23, 15, and 14. Misk and Inge came up really big. Great rebounding, ball handling, and D.

12/25: 12-0, #1, RPI #2. +22.7 PPG, +14.0 RBs, +8.1 TOs. 21.6, 10.4 for Misk, 13.7, 11.9 for Delk, 11.8, 7.5 for Inge, 10.7, 7.5 for Dash, 12.4 for Wood, 8.4 assists for Tsak. We are one of 3 undefeated teams in Div. I. FL ST and Michigan ST are the others.

1/1/1906: 15-0, 3-0, #1, RPI #1.

1/15: 19-0, 7-0, #1, RPI #1. Syracuse is ½ game back; we play them next, here. Everyone else is at least 2 back. We lead the nation in RBs and assists, #2 in PPG, TOs, Steals allowed. #3 in Blocks.

Misk got 43, a career high, a couple games back.

1/29: 22-0, 10-0, #1, RPI #1. +20.9 PPG, +17.4 RBs, +6.8 TOs. We crushed Syracuse but they’re still only 1 back.

Ted Misk is #5, Art Delk #16, Neil Inge #24, and Sam Wood #29 on the Norton list.

2/12: 26-0, 14-0, #1, RPI #1. 2 up on #6 Syracuse, 3 on #7 FL ST, 5 or more on the rest.

Misk is #6, Delk #16 on the Norton list.

2/26: We go to the post season undefeated, 30-0, 18-0, #1, RPI #1. +23.2 PPG, +19.1 RBs, +5.8 TOs. #1 in PPG, RBs, assists, blocks, steals allowed, #2 in TOs.

Misk had another 43 point game (in which we scored 118). He averages 22.8, 11.1. Delk is at 13.0, 10.8. Tsak is #1 in the country in assists.

3/5: Ted Misk remains #6 on the Norton list.

3/9: #9 seed Louisville, 16-13, 8-10, in the quarters. Beat them by 34 there, last week.

3/10: 107-68. 28, 11 for Misk, 22, 12 for Delk, 12, 11, 11 fro Inge, a rare triple double. 57 RBs, 2 TOs.

#4 seed, #12 ranked Duke, 22-8, 11-7, in the semis. Beat them by 15 and 20.

3/11: 87-68. 28, 14 for Delk, 23, 12, 5 for Misk, 16, 12 for Tash. 64 RBs, 5 TOs.

#3 seed, #7 ranked FL ST for the title. We only beat them by 4 at our place.

3/12: 72-55. 27, 7 for Wood, 14, 10 for Misk, 8, 12, 4, 5, 2 for Delk. 51 RBs, 11 TOs.

33-0, 18-0. We’re the only Div. I team with less than 2 losses.

#1 overall. We play 17-14 North Dakota.

3/16: 100-57. 26, 10 for Misk, 18 for Bora. 52 RBs, 5 TOs.

#9 seed Kentucky, 19-12. They’re having an off year but they’re still Kentucky.

3/18: 84-54. 23 for Wood, 20 for Tash. +13 RBs, +10 TOs.

#4 seed, #12 ranked St. John’s, 26-8, in the Sweet Sixteen. If we play our game we’ll be fine.

3/23: 80-69. We were up 19 at the half. 6 with 10 or more. 53 RBs, 10 TOs.

FL ST was upset by #3 seed, #9 ranked Maryland. 30-6. We beat them by 8 and 20 in Nov. Their SG is the best player in the country but they don’t have that much else.

3/25: 96-70. 32, 9, 4, 3 for Wood, 19, 11 for Delk, 15, 12, 4 for Misk, 15, 6 for Tash. 49 RBs, 7 TOs.

Final Four, and I really think we’re going to win it this year.

We play #2 seed, #6 ranked Syracuse, 30-5 in the national semifinal. Beat them by 27 at our place.

On the other side it’s #8 Kansas, 29-5, vs. #4 Arizona, 30-5.

4/1: 80-62. They led by 15 early. We got it to 2 at the half and dominated the 2nd. 23, 18, 5 for Misk, 23, 9 for Wood, 16 for Inge, 11, 10 for Tash. 57 RBs, but 18 TOs, season high.

It’s #4 Arizona, 31-5, for the title. They’re especially strong at SG, PF, and C. We’re stronger outside. Our bigs need to step up.

4/3: 86-70 and at long last, a national title! Up 12 at the half. 27, 6 for Wood, 19, 7, 4 for Misk, 17, 9, 3 for inge, 10, 9 for Delk, 12 assists for Tsak. Undefeated season!

4/4: Awards: Ted Misk was 2nd team All American. I was National COY. In the ACC, Misk was 1st team, Delk was 2nd, should have been 1st.

4/16: Spent a LOT of money on a #2 assistant, but I got a good one.

4/19: HUGE earthquake destroys San Francisco, killing hundreds, maybe thousands. And leaving many people homeless.

4/23: We need a budget increase. Got an increase, which covers the cost of the new assistant.

39-0, national championship! Overall, I’m 522-162, .763 for 20 seasons.

6/26: 2 scholarships. We need bigs.

Two new laws as a result of a book called, “The Jungle”: Pure Food and Drug Act, and Meat Inspection Act. Hope they help!

8/7: SG Ted Misk is #1, PF Bud Tash #6, PF Greg Best #8, PF Jay Cage #33, and Cal Robb #38.

8/21: We offer to a PF and a C.

9/11: Got the PF, #2; he was #1 last time the #s changed. Lost the C.

9/18: Got a C, #5.

Coaches Classic vs. Missouri. Very challenging schedule.

10/2: 1st day of practice. I think we can repeat. Great looking team.

11/6: 7 man rotation:

Juniors Ido Tsak and Ted Misk are back at PG and SG.

Soph Sam Wood starts at SF, backs up at both guard spots.

Both recruits sign.

3/16: 99-55. 26, 17 for Misk, 25, 14 for Best, 16, 12 for Wood. +40 RBs! 8 TOs.

We’re just playing terrific ball right now.

Not moving, that’s for sure!

4/9: Some interesting offers though.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade. Held it at A+, which was my goal.

39-0, 78 game win streak. Overall, I’m 561-162, .776. Going for the threepeat!
