3/7: We play # seed Indiana,19-10, 11-7, in the quarter finals.
“Peace Now” and “Peace” have been huge hits.
Working on another album and on a TV special, and appearing as a guest on lots of TV shows. I’m exhausted from trying to juggle two acreers.
3/8: 94-69. 21, 10 for Wrue, 17, 16 for Wats, 20, 7 for Garo, 13, 6, 5 for Bevy. 51 RBs, 5 TOs.
#3 seed, #7 ranked Maryland, 25-5, 15-3, in the semis. We won by 8 at our place.
3/9: 72-71. We were down 10 at the half, 13 early in the 2nd half. Garo won it with a jam inside, and he had 20, 8. 4 others with 10 or more. We never stopped working.
#5 seed, #17 ranked Purdue, 24-6, 13-5, for the title. We won by 21 at our place.
3/10: 74-71 and the title! 13, 9 for Wrue, 17 for Bevy, 9, 15 for Gant, 10, 7, 3 for Garo. Another game that we just gutted out with hard work. 48 RBs (+11).
29-3, 15-3, the Big 10 title. #7, RPI #8.
3/12: #2 Midwest. We play #15 Central CT, 20-10.
3/16: 85-41. 18, 12 for Garo, 15 each for Wrue and Bevy. Terrific D! +22 RBs, 8 TOs.
#7 seed Houston, 22-9, in the 2nd round.
3/18: 94-66. 21, 12 for Wrue, 24, 8 for Donn, 18, 3, 7 for Bevy, 16, 7 for Wats.
#6 seed, #20 ranked UMass, 25-8, in the Sweet 16. We’ve never gotten past this round. It would be nice!
3/23: 75-59! 22, 12 for Garo, 14, 9 for Wrue, 11, 3, 6 for Bevy. +15 RBs. A solid win.
And for the first time ever, one of my teams is in the Elite Eight. It won’t be easy. We play #1 seed, #2 ranked Michigan ST, 32-3. They beat us easily twice during the regular season.
3/25: 72-79. They jumped out to an early lead ad we just couldn’t catch up. We got it down to 4 twice, and we never quit. 33 for Bevy, 14, 13 for Garo.
4/3: #1 Syracuse is the champ.
4/4: Awards: Tim Garo and Bin Wrue made the Big 10 2nd team and I was Conf. COY.
4/9: After much deliberation over the past few months, I’ve decided to retire from coaching and to pursue my career as a singer/songwriter full time.
