11/20: 2-0. Beat 2 ranked teams. #14. Backcourt is kickin’ it!

Both recruits signed.

12/4: 5-1. #9, RPI #16. Roy Lona is scoring a lot of points at SG. We’re #3 in the nation in TOs (9.3). We only allow 3 steals a game.

12/25: 8-1, #8, RPI #3. +14.9 PPG, +4.2 RBs, +5.3 TOs, +2.8 steals, +6.1 assists.

1/1/1977: 10-1, 2-0. #7, RPI #1.

1/15: 14-1, 6-0. #6, RPI #1. I think this is developing into a very good team. I don’t think we’ll run the table in conf. play, but I DO think we’ll win the
conference, probably easily. We do a lot of things well. The surprise is that we’re #3 in the nation in RBs- playing all PGs and SGs.

1/21: Full pardon for most Vietnam draft evaders.

1/23: “Roots”

1/29: 18-1, 10-0, #6, RPI #1. +14.1 PPG, +3.9 RBs, +6.8 TOs, +5.6 assists, +4.5 steals. 3 game lead in conf., and maybe we Will run the table in conf., after all.

Roy Lona is #20 on the Norton list, and Dar Maye is #30.

2/12: 21-2, 13-1, #5, RPI #2. UConn beat us- at our place. Earlier we beat them at their place. We still have a 5 game lead in conf.

Lona is #17 on the Norton list.

2/26: We end the regular season at 25-2, 17-1, #5, RPI #2. We win the conf. by a whopping 6 games. +13.6 PPG (#7), +3.4 RBs (#6), +6.6 TOs (#1), +5.4 assists (#2), +4.5 steals (#31, but #1 in margin). Roy Lona leads us in scoring with 18.9.

3/5: Little used Jed Haro decided to go pro. He didn’t play much but he had a lot of potential.

3/9: We play #9 seed Memphis, 10-18, 7-11, first.

3/10: 76-57. It was never close. 21, 4, 4 for Lona, 15, 5 for C Dar Maye, 13, 8 for PG Tav Duns. 4 TOs.

#4 seed Tulsa, 18-10, 11-7, in the semifinals.

3/11: 79-43. Again, never a game. 16, 9, 4 for Duns, 17, 5 for Lona, 15 for sub Mo Marn. 4 TOs, for the 2nd straight game.

#2 seed Cincy, 20-9, 11-7, for the title. We beat them by 3 there and by 17 at our place.

3/12: 66-58. They gave us a game! They worked hard not to let us do what we wanted to do, and turned us over 18 times, but in the end we had enough.

28-2, 17-1, #5, RPI #2. We expect a #1 seed. Which one?

#1 West. We play #16 Indiana ST, 16-15.

3/15: Luciano Pavarotti makes his U. S. debut.

3/17: 79-68. 20, 5, 7 for Duns, 18, 10 for SF Brad Camp, 17, 9 for Marn. Too close!

#8 seed Wake Forest, 19-12, in the 2nd round.

3/19: 60-45. Great D! 16, 8 for Camp.

#4 seed, #20 ranked Missouri, 22-8, in the Sweet Sixteen.

3/24: 87-72. 36 for Lona, who couldn’t miss. 17, 6 for Camp, who’s having a great post season.

#3 seed, #12 ranked Michigan ST, 26-8, in the Elite Eight. They’re tough inside.

3/26: 70-62, and we’re in the Final Four! We held our own inside and dominated outside. 22 for Lona, 14 for Marn.

#10 ranked Purdue, 27-7, in the national semifinal. This game is one we can win, and we’re the only #1 seed left.

4/1: Not tonight, 61-82. Their PF had 35 and 17, and they were too tough inside.

4/3: Purdue wins it all.

4/4: Awards: Dar Maye is Conf. Def. POY. Roy Lona made Conf. 1st team. Maye and Brad Camp made 2nd team. I am Conf. COY.

4/23: I ask for a budget increase. Got $15,000.

32-3, 17-1, Final Four. Overall, 81-19, .810.
