11/13: 68-88 vs. #2 seed, #20 ranked Kansas in the Coaches Classic. 25 for Jayr, 22 for PG Al Shue.

11/20: All 4 recruits sign.

12/4: 3-2, RPI #49. 17.0 TOs per game. Better than last season by quite a lot. Jayr leads us with 23.8 and 11.0.

12/25: 6-3, RPI #. +2.8 PPG, +14.9 RBs, -2.9 PPG (18.6), +1.4 blocks, +0.4 assists, -1.7 steals. Jayr leads us with 20.7, 10.8.

1/1/1996: 8-3, 2-0. RPI #27. Great start to conf. play.

1/15: 12-3, 6-0, RPI #24. We’re playing really well! Tied for 1st.

1/22; Whitewater investigation comes to nothing.

1/29: 15-4, 9-1, RPI #19. Tied for 1st with UMass, 2 up on 3rd. +7.3 PPG, +13.4 RBs, +0.5 TOs (16.6), +2.0 blocks, +0.9 assists, +0.8 steals.

Ad Knox is #21 on the Norton list. Tega Jayr is playing better (20.4, 9.4), but he was not nominated.

2/12: 19-4, 13-1. We enter the top 25 at #19, RPI #11. 1 up on #16 UMass, 4 or more on the rest. 4 to play.

2/26: We end the regular season at 22-5, 16-2, tied for 1st with #12 UMass, but wqith the #1 seed. #18, RPI #13. +7.3 PPG, +14.8 RBs, +0.2 TOs, +0.2 blocks, +0.2 assists, +0.8 steals. Jayr has 21.1 and 9.3.

3/7: We play #8 seed Fordham, 10-18, 7-11, in the 1st round.

3/8: 69-42. 22, 11 for Jayr, 26 for the bench, only 12 TOs.

#5 George Mason, 16-14, 9-9, in the semis.

3/9: 60-45. Only 11 TOs. Our D was incredible!

#3 seed St Joe’s, 20-9, 11-7, shocked #2 seed, #12 ranked UMass. We won by 10 at our place.

3/10: 63-56. We led by 15 with 4:31 to play. 7 was as close as they got it. 23 TOs, not good.

25-5, 16-2, A10 Champs. #14, RPI #11.

3/12: #4 South. We play #13 Weber ST, 23-8. They beat us by 16 in the 2nd game of the season, but we were a very different team then.

3/17: 61-63. The shots just wouldn’t drop, including an open 12 footer at the buzzer- 27.1%, 20.7% on threes.

4/3: #1 Oklahoma ST is the champ.

Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, is arrested.

4/4: Awards: Tega Jayr is A10 POY, Def. POY, and 1st team, along with Ad Knox.

4/23: I ask for $. We get $6,750.

25-6, 16-2. Overall, 188-74, .718.

5/1: We move to the Big East, a big step up.

We buy the national basic.

6/5: Looking at transfers.

6/12: Nope.

6/26: 6 scholarships.

7/3: Yeltsin becomes the first popularly elected head of Russia in 1000 years.

7/5: Dolly the sheep is the first mammal cloned.

8/7: Al Shue is #48 on the Norton list. No idea why Tega Jayr and Ad Knox were not nominated.

8/21: We offer to 2 SFs, a PF, and 3 Cs.

9/18: Got an SF, #28, and a C, #34.

WS Midwest Invitational vs. Manhattan.

9/25: Lost one.

10/2: Got 3, lost one. Got a PF, #45, and 2 Cs, #47 and #53.

1st day of practice. We’re picked to win the Big East. I think that’s asking a lot.

11/5: Clinton is re-elected.

11/6: 8 man rotation for now:

Senior Al Shue starts at PG, subs at SG. Junior Tim Book subs at PG.

Senior Ad Knox starts at SG, subs at SF. Senior Yogi Bara and junior Earl Harp sub at SF.

Juco junior Jay Wood starts at PF, subs at C. Senior Tega Jayr is back at C.

11/20: 1-1. 22.5 TOs per game.

All 5 recruits sign. We’re chasing an SF.

Heading to the WS Midwest where we’re the #4 seed. We play #5 Manhattan.

11/21: 76-53. 16, 11, 6 for PG Al Shue, but 6 TOs (We had 27). 14, 7 for PF Jay Wood, but he fouled out. +22 RBs.

#1 seed, #22 ranked Purdue, 2-0, in the semis. If we take care of the ball we can win.

11/22: 68-66! 16 TOs, which, for us, is good! 22, 9 for Wood, 16, 10 for Jayr, who had the winner. +19 RBs.

#3 seed Auburn, 3-0, for the title. Again, if we take care of the ball…

11/23: 72-79. Only 12 TOs but we shot 30.8%, 1-12 on threes, and we missed 23 free throws (We made 23). +15 RBs. We should have won this one.

12/4: 5-3, RPI #13, vs. some tough competition. Last three were against ranked teams, #16, 8, 6, and we won 2 of the 3. Jay Wood, 17.3, 9.3, and Tega Jayr, 15.0, 9.3, lead us. 19.0 TOs per game, but we’re #1 in RBs, 46.3.

12/25: 8-3, RPI #10, going to conf. play. +7.2 PPG, +17.5 RBs, -2.6 TOs, +1.8 blocks, -0.4 assists, -1.5 steals. Jayr, Wood, and Knox lead us.

1/29: 17-4, 9-1, #16, RPI #5. +10.1 PPG, +18.4 RBs, -1.2 TOs, +0.6 blocks, +1.6 assists, +0.1 steals. Jayr leads us with 20.5, 9.5.

2/12: 19-6, 11-3, #14, RPI #9. 3 game lead in conf. with 4 to play.

2/26: 22-7, 14-4, #14, RPI #8. We win the conf. by 3. +8.0 PPG, +16.9 RBs, -1.4 TOs, +0.8 blocks, +1.2 assists, +0.3 steals.

3/9: We play #9 seed St. John’s, 15-13, 7-11, first.

3/10: 84-63. 24, 15 for Jayr, 18, 5, 6 for SG Al Shue, 13, 13 for Ad Knox. +32 RBs.

#5 seed Providence, 18-12, 9-9, in the semis. We split during the regular season.

3/11: 78-59. 16 each for Jayr, Knox, and PF Jay Wood. 7 TOs!

#3 seed Seton Hall, 17-13, 10-8, for the title. We split during the regular season in two close games.

3/12: 92-75. 31, 14 for Wood. Very good play by everyone.

25-7, 14-4, Big East champs. #15, RPI #6. Hoping for a #2 or a #3 seed.

#3 West. We play SIU-Edwardsville, 19-10.

3/17: 78-66. 19 for Shue, 14, 8 for Jayr.

#11 seed Ohio, 23-10, upset the #6 seed, so we’ll play them.

3/19: 80-92 in OT. We missed an open 12 footer at the end of regulation and then fell apart in OT. Frustrating to lose to a team we should have beaten.

4/3: #6 Oklahoma ST repeats.

4/4: Tega Jayr is Big East POY, Def. POY, 1st team, with Jay Wood. Ad Knox makes 2nd team.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade. No.

26-8, 14-4. Overall, 214-82, .723.

11/20: 1-1. We lost to #16 Ga. Tech by one point. Jay Wood looks like he’s the real thing.

All 3 recruits sign.

12/4: 5-1, RPI #40. Jay Wood is averaging 28.0 and 11.8. One more at home then the Sunshine Shootout, where we’re the #2 seed.

12/9: 92-65 over UIC. 28, 12 for Wood, 17, 5, 8 for PG Tim Book. 11 TOs.

#3 seed College of Charleston, 3-2, in the semis.

12/10: 78-53. 25, 7 for Wood, 20, 6, 6 for Book, 15, 17 for PF Zac Main.

#1 seed North Carolina, 4-4, for the title.

12/11: 79-62. 40, 17 for Wood, who was unstoppable.

We were ranked #20 in the poll that came out before this game was played.

12/25: 11-2 going to Conf. play. #, RPI #. +13.3 PPG, +15.0 RBs, -0.3 TOs, +2.6 blocks, +2.2 assists, +0.1 steals. Wood gets 28.3 (#2 in the nation), 11.8 (#5).

2/12: 22-4, 11-2, #8, RPI #6. 2 game lead over Providence.

2/26: 23-6, 12-4, alone in 1st as we head to the playoffs. #9, RPI #7. +11.9 PPG, +14.8 RBs, -1.2 TOs, +2.6 blocks, +2.0 assists, +0.5 steals.
