3/6: We play #8 seed Air Force, 10-18, 7-11, first.

3/7: 80-77. WAY too close, and I am not happy. 25 for Sill, 15, 8 for Robb, 12, 11 for Cuye. But we let them shoot 45% and we had 17 TOs. I expect better.

#5 seed Colorado ST, 15-13, 9-9, in the semis. They won by 13 there, so we have a score to settle.

3/8: 78-73. We didn’t play well- again! 23 for Sill, 22 for PG Tag Alan, 13, 11 for Robb. But 17 TOs again, and poor D.

We’ll need to play better to beat #3 seed, #23 ranked New Mexico, 23-8, 11-7. We split with them in the regular season.

3/9: 89-82, and the title. We led all the way, by as many as 19. Not happy with the D, but our O was not to be denied. 21, 6 for 6th man Wes Loer,
17, 3, 6 for Alan, 13, 9 for Mack.

24-6, 14-4, #13, RPI #15.

3/12: #4 West. We play #13 Mount Mary, 21-9.

3/17: 77-60. 18, 11 for Robb, 14 each for Cuye and Mack.

#12 seed UMass, 23-8, won in an upset. They’re next.

3/19: 72-64 and my first trip to the Sweet Sixteen. 13, 19 for Robb, 16, 8 for Sill, 17 for Loer, 14, 3, 8 for Alan, 10 RBs for Cuye. 49 RBs.

#9 seed Ohio ST, 21-11, shocked #1 Louisville.

3/24: 77-64. 22 for Alan, 16, 5, 3 for Sill, 10, 11 for Cuye, 14 for Loer. They focused on Robb, and they stopped him, but we found the open man.

#3 seed, #3 ranked (How does that happen?) Gonzaga, 32-4, in the Elite Eight. They can play, but we feel like if we play our game we have a shot.

3/26: 78-83. Our D let us down in the 2nd half, gave up 54. 21 for Sill, 12 each for Alan and Mack. 17 TOs.

4/3: #14 Missouri wins it all.

4/4: Awards: Ben Robb makes Conf. 1st team. Diga Sill and Mo Mack make 2nd. I get Conf. COY.

4/9: Moving to Oklahoma ST in the Big 12. Bigger budget, better conference. We’ll need to rebuild, but that’s fine.

4/23: Tried to do some late recruiting but no luck.

I ask for $. No.

27-7, 14-4, Elite Eight. Overall, 109-49, .690.

5/1: We buy the Plains and South Gold.

Concentration camps at Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, and who knows where else.

6/5: Looking at transfers. We have only 8 scholarship players, only 2 of them guards.

6/12: Got one, a very good looking SF from Nevada.

6/25: We’re going to have to play a lot of walk ons this season, and hope to recruit well.

6/26: 8 scholarships. We’ll go for the best players, regardless of position.

8/7: PF Zen Sola is #17 on the Norton list.

8/21: We offer to 3 PGs, an SF, 2 PFs, 2 Cs.

9/18: Got 3, lost 3. Got a PF, #13, a C, #14, a PG, #17.

NIT vs. Temple.

9/25: We get 2, lose 3. We get a C, #29, a PG, #39. Three to go. I need to get at least one more good guard. Oh, we’re out of recruiting money.

10/2: We lose 2.

1st day of practice. We’re picked 3rd in conf. Seems a little ambitious.

11/2: W is re-elected.

11/6: 8 man rotation:

Junior Jan Walk is at PG. Junior walk on Cole Harm starts at SG, subs at PG. Junior Jon Guy gets equal time at SG.

Senior walk on Murr Craw is at SF. Senior walk on Jay Stam backs up.

Senior Zen Sola starts at PF, subs at C. Soph Kea Reck subs at PF.

Senior Greg Hunt is at C.

11/11: Yasser Arafat dies.

11/13: We start at the NIT tomorrow against Temple. They’re the #7 seed, we’re #10.

11/14: 72-60. 15, 14 for Sola, 12, 13 for Hunt. All 5 starters had 10 or more. +14 RBs. Great start!

#1 ranked, #2 seed Florida in round 2. No, we’re not ready for this big of a challenge. I just want my guys to keep their heads and do what they can.

11/16: 59-84. Boys against men. My goal here at Oklahoma ST is to reach the point where we can contend for the national title, but that will take some time.

11/20: 1-1. All 5 recruits sign, but we have 3 slots to fill and we really want to sign at least one more guard.

12/4: 4-2. Lost one at home that we should have won; we couldn’t make shots, especially late. NOT happy, and the players will, know it at practice. Still tweaking the lineup. Hunt and Sola are our best players so far, but we don’t have a real scorer.

12/11: 5-3. Lost another home game, but it was to a ranked team, by 1 in OT. Still, you NEED to win at home.

12/25: 6-4 going to Big 12 play. RPI #16. +2.4 PPG, +8.8 RBs, +0.4 TOs. Not sure how well we’ll do in a tough conference. We can’t compete with KS, #8, or OK, #13. After that, maybe.

12/26: At least 90,000 killed in an Asian tsunami.

1/1/2005: 7-5, 1-1. We split against two middle level conf. teams, winning the home game. We lost by only 1 at Iowa ST. We’re 2-3 in games decided by 5 points or less.

1/15: 9-7, 3-3, RPI #20. 2 of the 3 conf. losses are to KS and OK, so we’re doing okay. Rebounding is our strength, #12; #14 in RBs allowed.

Colin Powell is fired as Secretary of State.

1/29: 13-7, 7-3, RPI #23. Alone in 2nd, but 5 of our last 8 are away. +4.2 PPG, +9.3 RBs, +1.3 TOs. Sola gets 11.6 RBs.

Zen Sola is #10 on the Norton list.

2/12: 14-10, 8-6, RPI #41. Alone in 3rd. Lost by 1 at KS, by 2 at Baylor. We’re not winning the close ones.

4 left in the regular season, 2 at home, 2 away. If we go 3-1 we should finish 3rd.

Sola remains #10 on the Norton list.

2/19: In a 2 way tie for 3rd with 2 to play. Our last 2 are against teams we should beat.

2/26: 16-12, 10-8, RPI #48. Tied for 3rd, but the #4 seed. +3.3 PPG, +8.6 RBs, +0.3 TOs. 11.6 RBs for Sola.

3/5: Sola is #10 on the Norton list. Little used Dan Mers declares for the draft.

3/9: We play #5 seed Iowa ST, 15-13, 9-9. They won by 1 there, we won by 15 here.

3/10: 71-57. 13, 15 for Center Greg Hunt, 14, 12 for Sola, 18, 5, 5 for SG Cole Harm, 14 for SF Jay Stam. 20 TOs (-5), but 46 RBs (+18).

#1 seed, #5 ranked Kansas, 25-4, 15-3, in the semis. They won by 14 at our place, but only 1 at theirs, but they are a very good team, especially outside.

3/11: 58-53. Great game! 19, 10 for Sola, 8, 14, 4 for Hunt. +10 RBs, only -4 TOs. It was close all the way. Late in the 2nd we went on a run and opened up a 9 point lead. They got it to 2 once and 3 twice, but never quite caught us.

#2 seed, #8 ranked Oklahoma for the title. They beat us by 14 and by 7. We don’t match up with them as well as we do with Kansas, but we’ll give it a shot. Yesterday’s win probably got us into the NCAA tourney.

3/12: 53-68. They jumped out to a big early lead, got it to 22, and we were never able to get back in it. 14, 14 for Sola.

18-13, 10-8, RPI #50. I think we’re in, but we’ll see.

No. NIT, #1 Midwest. We play #8 Rice, 18-13.

3/13: 75-66. 18, 11 for Sola, 17, 8 for Hunt, 14 for SF Jay Stam.

#5 seed Northwestern, 17-12, in the 2nd round.

3/15: 74-71. A battle all the way. 20, 13 for Sola, 17, 6, 3 for Stam, 13 each for guards Harm and Walk.

#7 seed conf. rival Iowa ST, 17-14, in the round of 8. We beat them 2 of 3 times, lost by only 1 in the 3rd.

3/20: 78-63. They locked down our inside game so we beat them outside. 14, 11 for Stam, 15 for Walk, 13, 6, 7 for Harm. We didn’t score inside but we did rebound, +18.

NIT Final Four opponent is #1 East seed LSU, 20-11. They have a VERY good PF. We’re a 2 ½ point favorite. We’ll see.

3/28: 64-79. Not our night. We let them shoot 56.5%. 19, 11 for Sola in his last college game.

4/3: #1 Florida beat my UNLV team for the title.

4/4: Awards: Zen Sola makes 2nd team All America. In conf. he’s POY, Def. POY, 1st team along with Greg Hunt.

4/23: I ask for $. We get $2,900. Better than nothing, but barely.

21-14, 10-8, NIT. Overall, I’m 130-63, .674.
