Playoffs for smaller leagues

Hello

I understand there is no customization of playoff options, but how can we tell how many playoff teams qualify by league size option chosen.

For instance, I made an "8 team US" league expecting at least a single playoff championship game. Unless I missed something, there was only a regular season.

Is there a list of playoff configuration matched to each league format?
