NEWBIE: Trades and FA Signing...?

Hi,
Brand new to this game (like 3 days), very cool game though!

I downloaded the NFL 2017 mod and began to play, taking control of the Browns (all of the other teams are set to CPU run). When I request a trade the other team does not approve or counter or reject, the only button that I have an option of pressing is "execute trade" and then it just goes through. Is there a setting somewhere so that AI will be an autonomous trade partner? Also free agents, I signed Jas Piere Paul and T. Suggs, and Jordy Nelson, all for the league minimum immediately. Along the same lines, is there a way to make it more realistic where the player accepts offers and then chooses a team rather than me just getting whoever I want? Please let me know if there is a way to change these things so that it is more realistic and challenging.

Are you in sandbox mode or career mode. From what you have described it sounds like you're in sandbox. Try starting a new game in career mode or going to the options page and clicking "convert to career league."

I had the same issue in sandbox and converted it to career mode and the problem was solved.

Thank you for the responses. I went into settings to try to convert to a career league and that button is faded as if it’s not an option. Any idea how I can converted it to a career League?

This is very frustrating. I want to be able to play with NFL players in career league but that doesn’t seem possible because it will not let me switch to career league if I start a league with the NFL 2017 mod.I even tried taking control of a team prior to trying to switch to career mode but it still does not allow me this option. Is there some trick to doing this?

Which NFL 2017 Mod did you download? I believe there is an online league format and a sandbox format. If you downloaded the online league one I'm not sure you'll be able to convert that league to career mode. I can't remember offhand but you might only be able to convert the sandbox version.
