Can you still bring a players from DDSCF:2017 into the draft in the new version?

yes, but because the college game exports to csv and the new progame imports json, you will need to run them through a converter.

I believe someone posted how to do it already.

Can you point me to it please? I've checked all the relevant forums and cannot find it anywhere.

JSON follow up

Postby regenerator » Tue Sep 05, 2017 5:01 pm

* I responded to that topic you posted Brooks, it doesn't really help from what I can see.

* Looking at that link that FootballAddict posted, should we use the "CSV to JSON Array" option to create the proper JSON file format we need?

No, CSV to JSON won't work if you don't know the json format you're targeting. After we get through this release I'll work on a DDSPF16 CSV converter that will build a DDSPF18 compatible .json file, but it's not going to be available for a while.

Thanks

It seems like it would have been more of a priority to make the games compatible without the extra steps involved.

No way to keep them compatible and move to the new format without supporting both formats (which would be a lot of extra work)

When the new version of DDSCF is released it will use the new format and you won't have to convert. The converter will just be for folks who want to work with the old CSV files, or with previous versions of the game.

What are the advantages of json vs. csv?
