Are star free agents signing with new teams longer than 1 -2 years? Its hard to immerse when Peyton has a glorious 15 year career with 6 different teams.

They should be, but probably on average it's more like 3-4 years on the top end. We can look at having the cpu make more longer offers but it may work better to look at upping the likelihood that cpu teams re-sign their own players.

How would one 'up the likelihood' of a team resigning a star? I am finding that when I resign a player it is generally for one only year at a time.

That's for the developers to increase the likelihood. For an upcoming patch.

During free agency teams will sign players for longer than a year. During the season, when filling out rosters, players are only signed for 1 year minimums.
