Free Agency

Ken Stabler, Terry Bradshaw, Larry Czonka all entered free agency at the beginning of the 73 season (started in 70 and I cant unclick "use finances"). All signed with new teams for 1 year. 74 FA.. Same three new teams 1 year. 75 Bradshaw signs with Pitt for a 1 year ken and Larry get 2 year deals.

I don't mind having free agency but the 1 year leasing of star players is not immersive and game breaking for me. Help!

I agree star players should be signed for 3 or 4 years.

The AI is probably de-prioritizing them due to age, ability, existing salary, etc. In future versions we'll try and tag players who have a certain loyalty flag so they re-up more often, and teams make more offers to retain those players (and longer contracts)

I have experienced a similar feeling in Free Agency, where the top players often 29, 30, 31 year olds sign a 1 year deal for 2-500000 more than I offered on a 2-3 year deal. I am not sure the total monetary package is evaluated in where the FA decides to play. I have even experienced it where the player signs a 1 year deal for less than I offered on a 2-3 year deal.

A second issue I have experienced is when I offer a 1 year deal at the top end of the "expected" amount and the person doesn't sign for all 10 days (pre and post draft), and then I can sign them the day pre-season starts for 300k. I won't abuse the loop to get good players cheap, but it makes it really hard for me to sign a 1 year player.
