Why do many players get elected into the HoF, eventhough they dont fulfill the HoF criteria?

and is it possible to edit the HoF in career mode?

I purposefully set the criteria higher and players who only played a few seasons will still get in.

Some players can make it into the HOF if they've won a bunch of championships or set records in the league. Otherwise it basically checks the stat thresholds.

I thought at one point you could manually put them in the HOF after they retired... or maybe remove them? I'd have to check the code to see if that ability is still there or if it's been removed over the years.
