Playoff seeding

Playoff seeding

Postby football » Sat Mar 10, 2018 6:50 pm

I did a test with my 20 team league and simmed to the end of the season.

In the same division we had a 10-6 team win the division but not make the playoffs whereas the second place 8-8 team made the playoffs in that division. Can you look into the seeding language to see if that can be fixed?

I took a look and it seems the code is correct. What may be happening is an issue when doing a change league format where the divisions are not being set properly for teams. This has been fixed in a soon to be released patch.

It could also be an issue with non-unique division names so you'll want to check that.

The latest patch just released today... I would try that and see if that fixes the issue. I believe in your league the conferences assigned to the teams is wrong which is causing some issues. The patch corrects those issues automatically.

Seems better thanks, one question, are playoff teams decided by best teams in a conference not by division? I had a division post patch that had an 8-8 division winner but only teams from the other division 9-7 or better teams made the playoffs

It depends on the league format. For the most part each division winner should be in, and then at-large guys get in.

Where do I change that to make that happen and can I do that mid season?

I'd have to look at the league file again and see if something still isn't working right.

I am actually having this problem now.. running Version 2.0.11

http://nafl1.simuleague.com/Standings.html

But the teams that made the playoffs are:

Seatle, Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles in the Western Conference
Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Memphis in the Eastern Conference
At least, 3 different teams should have but didn't
