Missing players?

First year using this product and I am really enjoying it. Just had a quick question.. there are a few players who appear as free agents when I search for them but then are not available to be signed as free agents when I go to a teams page. Milos Teodosic and Khem Birch are the two that I have found so far. Both players bio cards come up when I do a search but neither appear in the master list of all available free agents. Is there a way to sign a player to a team straight from their bio card? And if not, how do I get these guys onto the free agent list? I'm guessing that I am missing something obvious but any help would be appreciated!
