Offensive Set FAQ

This has been asked a couple of times on the forums so I thought I would post it here for those coming looking for help.

What do the offensive sets do?

Isolation means you're going to try and pass to one of your top scorers in the area of the floor he likes to work in and he's going to try and create a shot for himself.

Pick and Roll is just what it sounds like - a guard and a big man are going to run the pick and roll (or can turn into pick and pop with a big who likes to shoot threes).

Post up is going to try and force the ball into your low post players more often

Spot up is going to try and run wing players off screens for jump shots.

Motion is going to be an offense with lots of player and ball movement - think of a balanced attack where you're ok sharing the ball with everyone.

Transition is going to be pushing the ball in changes of possession looking for players to just go to spots they like to shoot from and trying to get quicker shots.
