Defensive gameplans

Do the defensive gameplans actually count in game? Like if I set the linemen to run support vs pass rush you will see them collapse in on the run rather than always rush the passer? Or is that just in there for aesthetics? and what about the player radio part? Does that actually do anything?

what players do on defense is determined by the plays.

The gameplans work on other parameters.
