What are the coordinates used for in the college game?

I noticed that the teams base their weather on specific city locations, not the coordinates, according to the Team Info.

I suspect it might be used for features that rely on distances between places such as maybe how interested a recruit might be in a school based on how close to their home. Just guessing here, something the developer would need to confirm.

Lat/Long are used to calculate distances from the recruit to the school. Weather is mapped to cities weather models, not to lat/long
