Is there a way to extract the schedule file and edit it?

I could be wrong here but I think the only way to edit a schedule is if you're using it in a custom league and it has to be set as the upcoming season's schedule before starting a season (or at the creation phase). The format is .csv and it goes first column - week #, second column and third column are team Id#. I don't remember which column is the home team
