Recruit Verbally Committed, Never Signed LOI and Disappeared

Postby dhoose97 » Wed Mar 28, 2018 10:43 pm

So I was recruiting a high school player and near the end of the season I secured a verbal commitment.

He never signed a LOI and when I advanced the season he isn't on my roster. Recruiting hasn't opened up for the next season (I'm still on day one of the next season) so I'm not sure if he's in there as a JUCO or something.

This is only my third season so I'm not sure if this is a normal thing or if there's some kind of problem, I got no email about him or anything and I'm pretty frustrated as this was the best recruit I've gotten so far in the game.

If he never signed an LOI it's likely that he did not hit your school's SAT score. You would have gotten an email to that effect on January 29. BUT... if that happened the scholarship would have opened up for you to offer it to someone else.

We're told that in the game it's possible for a recruit to not sign after verbally committing, but it has only ever happened to me when he didn't hit my SAT score. If that's not it, then it's some sort of a glitch.

Didn't think of the SAT score, that may have been it. I didn't pay attention to that. Although I don't recall getting an email about it. I offered him after Jan 29 I think though so maybe I wouldn't have gotten the email since I hadn't offered him?

If you offered after 1/29, no, you would not have gotten an email. That may well have been it. There's nothing in that game that would stop you from offering to a guy who didn't hit your SAT score, but he couldn;t play for you.
