Gary, excellent version this year. I've really enjoyed playing it the last week or so. I wanted to share some thoughts with you and the community.
- Most stable version this game has ever been released in. In the past it was absolutely necessary to have multiple saves because the run time errors would corrupt the files. I have very rarely received an error and when I did, the same re-loaded the save file. Excellent.
- I was so excited to see the recruit rankings actually rank the entire association and not just the top 25. It has been neat to see where my lower prestige teams have stacked up. I'd still like to see this taken one more step where you have a drop down for individual conferences to see how they stack up instead of having to scroll through the whole list, but am very grateful this was included as is.
- I'd like to be able to click on a players name from a box score/player awards and have their player card pull up
- When my initial assistant coaches contracts run out, I'm not able to bid on them again. Is this working as designed? For example, I would have loved to retain my 1st assistant, but he was demanding money I couldn't afford. When the staff hiring portion occurred, he wasn't available to hire, and then when I checked on him, he signed for significantly less than what he had demanded to extend and at a dollar amount I could have afforded.
- I moved from Delaware to Wisconsin and was given an initial 2 year contract. I think that needs to be looked at as no coach would ever accept those terms. I also noticed that during that first year with a new program, your old schools incoming recruit class populate din the bottom right screen instead of your new school.
- Incoming freshman logic needs to be looked at. As Wisconsin, I signed the #183 SG and #638 C for depth/long term purposes. I made sure that both had "playing time" as not a concern. They didn't have incidents throughout the year and actually received 5-10 minutes per game. Advance to the next season and both are transferring. This has happened consistently in my experience. I'd get it if they were the top rates at their position/5 star guys and rode the bench, but I have found trouble building depth at times due to unrealistic playing expectations from incoming freshman. Unless they are transferring for another reason? Is there a way to see WHY a player is transferring?
- I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but multiple times while simming a game in 2D at 10 speed, my opponent will all of a sudden be up 20-30 points after it being a close fought game. For example, as Wisconsin I was playing Arizona in the NCAA Tournament. They had 73 shots vs 40. Both teams had the same amount of free throws and turnovers. They did have 10 more offensive rebounds, but that wouldn't account for a 33 shot discrepancy. Maybe I am missing something here? I should have looked at the log, but I closed the game, re-booted and then didn't see the issue. Still got blown out, but it at least made sense, ha. I feel like this has happened a few times, but not 100%. Will keep an eye out for it.
I'm jumping back in, but wanted to share these thoughts. Maybe someone has an answer and I missed something. Would love to hear others thoughts as well.
